Darkest Hour Announces U.S. And European Tours
Washington, DC metalcore pioneers, Darkest Hour, announce a run of West Coast tour dates for December, with a nine-city co-headlining tour alongside Unearth.
Offers Darkest Hour, "2019, we are not done with you yet. Just added some shows on the West Coast with our dudes in Unearth! We have seen all the amazing feedback from you all, and we have listened. Both bands will be playing FULL headlining, rip'n, face melting sets. We have had a ton of fun all over the world with Unearth and we are stoked to slide these dates in before the end of the year. We have some huge things in store for 2020 but if you live in these cities come out and party like its 1999 with us and Unearth!"
A month later, Darkest Hour will kick off 2020 with a return to Europe for a sixteen-city special 25th anniversary tour, where they'll be joined by special guests Fallujah, Bloodlet, Une Misere, and Lowest Creature.
The band comments, "It is with extreme excitement that we announce what we hope to be one of many tour's next year celebrating our 25th anniversary! Over these past twenty-five years we have toured with both new and established bands and have always worked hard to make our tour packages diverse and interesting. This tour is in keeping with that tradition. Fallujah is ripping progressive death metal who have had our attention for a while, can't wait to see these riffs live. Bloodlet is a very special band to us. One of our early influences, it is EASY to say we would not be a band (or at least not the same band) without their influence. We grew up going to their shows and it's a joy to be able to share the stage with them. We got to see Une Misere play this summer and were impressed, insanely heavy, Icelandic mosh of the highest form. Lowest Creature is a killer blend of classic metal elements we all love translated with a new and distinctly Swedish twist. Oh, and you know we will have a few surprises planned for this set special 25th anniversary set. See you in the pit!"

Darkest Hour Announces Record Store Day Release
Darkest Hour, which released ninth album, "Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora," earlier this month, just announced a limited edition 7-inch titled “Pain Killer/I Don’t Want to Hear It” coming via Southern Lord Recordings for Record Store Day (April 22nd).
The release, which is limited to 1000 copies, features the song “Enter Oblivion” from "Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora," as well as covers of Minor Threat’s “I Don’t Want To Hear It” and Judas Priest’s “Pain Killer.” All proceeds from the 7-inch will be donated to the National Immigration Law Center.
Band founder and guitar player Mike Schleibaum had this to say about the release:
“It is with great pride we present to you our first Record Store Day release, which also happens to be our first 7-inch record in almost two decades! This 7-inch features two covers that we recorded before the launch of our Indiegogo campaign last year. Although the songs were released for free as part of a thank you to our loyal fans we felt they wouldn't get their justice served without some sort of physical release. In addition to the covers, this 7-inch also includes the song ‘Enter Oblivion’ from our new album, 'Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora.' This song and 7-inch have a very special meaning for us.
"Having toured the world countless times at this point, we have seen the destructiveness and divisiveness that arises from nation states, borders, and immigration policies. These invisible, arbitrary lines that divide families, cultures, and humanity are archaic and obsolete. We believe that no human being is ever illegal just for existing. We believe that everyone regardless of race, religion, age, ethic heritage, sexual identification and sexual orientation should be treated with the respect and dignity that everyone deserves. More...

Darkest Hour Releasing Lager
In honor of the band's 20th anniversary and release of ninth studio album, "Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora," Darkest Hour teamed up with DC’s own DC Brau Brewing Company for a collaboration titled Savor The Swill, a German-style Helles lager that will be available in limited release starting February 11th in Washington, D.C.
“This project was born a few years back,” says Brandon Skall, co-founder and CEO of DC Brau. “It may have taken some time for it to come to fruition, but it was worth it.”
DC Brau’s co-founder/head brewer Jeff Hancock and Skall worked with the band to choose a style they would enjoy drinking.
“There was one obvious choice that rose to the top after discussing the many potential beer styles that we could brew – a German-Style Helles,” says Hancock. “I mean, how fitting is it to choose a beer with the word hell in the name? Cha Ching!”
Savor The Swill is a light, golden German lager with lively, natural carbonation that touts aromas of lightly-kilned malt, grain, and cracker with a subtle herbal hop presence. A clean fermentation profile, low alcohol content (5% ABV), and a perfect ratio between the Czech Republic 2 Row Pilsner malt and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops contribute to this well-balanced, meticulously crafted, domestic interpretation of one of Germany's most delicate lagers. Darkest Hour Streaming "Timeless Numbers"
Darkest Hour, which recently announced the March 10th release of ninth album "Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora" via Southern Lord Recordings, today shares a second song from the 12-track album. Check out “Timeless Numbers” below.
"This song, like ‘Knife in the Safe Room,' has a dual meaning,” explains Darkest Hour guitar player Mike Schleibaum. “The first is the continuation of the story line that permeates the album. In this track we see our main character struggle with the inherit history of the culture he/she was brought up in and the realization that it was always in our nature to divide and consume ourselves. "
Mike goes on to say, "In simpler terms, it is a reflection on the drain of modern life and the subsequent division / internal destruction that this life seems to always lead humanity towards. As we travel the world, we have seen how no matter where you are, humans divide themselves. We interact with immigration policies, boarders and barriers that are cultural, economic, and political everyday that we are on tour. While traveling the world we have done our best to spread a message of anti-nationalism, unilateral respect for humans of all forms, and lastly the basic idea that music/art is more powerful and more eternal then religion, nation states, or even TECHNOLOGY!” More...
Darkest Hour Posts Drum Video
After previously streaming the track, Darkest Hour has now released a drum playthrough video for the song "Knife In The Safe Room," taken off the "Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora" album due out in March of 2017. Darkest Hour comments:
"Know what was bad ass that happened in 2016? We tracked this album! Here is video of Travis tracking 'Knife in the Safe Room!'
"You can get the single as an instant download if you pick it up from iTunes, OR as an immediate download, if you pick up one of the packages from Southern Lord Recordings - either way you get to hear it right now so crank up them iPhones or whatever you all listen to music on and distort everything!
