It's time for another round of Pit Stories. This story comes to us via Matt Garzilli of Sworn Enemy. Brian Fair of Shadows Fall thought he could mosh in during Sworn Enemy and then play a show but he went to the hospital instead. More...
Day three of Texas Independence was the day I looked forward to the most. The headliners included Corrosion of Conformity-Blind, Death Angel and Cavalera Conspiracy.
This day was by far the most stacked for talent. Bands as well known as Allegaeon played early in the day. I didn’t make it to the club until 2:30. The Agonist was the first band I caught. I wasn’t able to see the band with Alissa White-Gluz before she left for Arch Enemy, so it’s difficult to compare her to her replacement Vicky Psarakis. Psarakis’s vocals seemed fine, but she appeared to have lost the monitor. Her band mates were in fine form, though.

"All I can say is that it is certainly a step in a new and interesting direction," says frontman Johnny Crowder. We're touring extensively in support of this new record, so keep an eye out for dates. Our tour with Sworn Enemy, Wretched, Hammer Fight will kick off our Spring/Summer cycle, and we can't wait to get back out on the road again."

Each week we check in with metal musicians to get their most memorable Pit Stories from live shows. Today vocalist Sal LoCoco of New York outfit Sworn Enemy shares this tale of Brian Fair getting his nose broken while out on tour with Death Ray Vision:
So Sworn Enemy set out on a mini tour with Death Ray Vision and Acaro last summer, and we haven't seen Mike D (Killswitch Engage) and Brian Fair (Shadows Fall) in a long time. It was really good to catch up with both of those guys. Also wound up getting very close with the Acaro guys on that tour.
Well to make a long story short the tour is winding down and the last day we are up at Bogies in Albany, our set is going great and we get to our closing song "We Hate." Now at this time Brian has been dancing for us throughout the whole set like a madman. We pretty much get to the last 10 seconds of the song, now mind you none of us in the band seen it happen as we were onstage with the lights blaring in our eyes, we find out that Brian got knocked in the face and busted his nose and had to go to the hospital. Death Ray Vision did not get to play their set. What a way to end the tour. It was crazy that he had that happen to him in the last few seconds of our set.
Death Ray Vision commented on the event back in September of 2013 via Facebook: "Thanks to Sworn Enemy and Acaro for a hell of a good time for the Raging Semi Tour! Thanks to everyone who came out and partied with us! Albany, sorry for not being able to play due to Brian getting his nose broken in the Pit during Sworn Enemy..we'll make it up to you!"
In another new feud in the music world, Sumerian Records and ex-Sworn Enemy Guitarist Lorenzo Antonucci have posted a video clip online calling out Ronnie Radke of Falling in Reverse for recent behavior. The video apparently comes in response after I See Stars was kicked off a tour with Falling In Reverse. The video can be seen below. Sumerian Records also commented:
"There is nothing cool, rock & roll, punk rock, or admirable about treating your peers or fans like they are pieces of garbage. Ronnie Radke is not a good human being. It's one thing to love someone's music, but do not love someone as an individual for who they are not. We do not think it is a coincidence this is the same guy who was arrested for the horrible, violent things you can read about in the links below. He cares about no one but himself and he has reminded us all of this. His latest tweet 'people at our shows come to see us everything else is irrelevant. Nuff said.' is his way of telling all the other bands he tours with that they don't matter. Why any artist would throw that type of negativity and disrespect out is something we will never understand. This scene is supposed to be about compassion and understanding. Ronnie is rotten.
"Out of respect for the industry professionals involved in this debacle, we will not be publicly disclosing any legal documents on the internet. We can confirm that Ronnie kicked the band off the tour but allowed them back on after they forfeited their pay. We can confirm that they were being forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding this in order to stay on the tour. We can confirm that I See Stars were not kicked off yesterday in Detroit because of anything to do with drugs. It was because a grown man was throwing a temper tantrum who claims to be 'rock & roll' but is actually worse than a neurotic pop-star diva with a God complex. Just because you no longer do drugs doesn't mean you are no longer a horrible human being. Ronnie now abuses people instead of substances."
New York's Sworn Enemy has kicked off a month-long European and the band has now also confirmed several dates with Sepultura, as well as Napalm Death, Hatebreed, and Exodus. Guitarist Matt Garzilli comments:
“I’m psyched to be a part of this band. This upcoming Euro tour is going to be a non-stop barrage of destruction. I can’t wait to get out there and play for these fans! I’m also looking forward to the future work the band has on the drawing board.”

The band has decided to hit the road in the Northeast, and to take fellow NYC metalheads, DeMilitiA (featuring Jennifer Arroyo, ex-Kittie/Suicide City), and the Ska/Metal/Surf/Thrash band from the back hills of Pennsylvania, Gloominous Doom, along for the ride.

SWORN ENEMY are one of those few bands that can never be derailed, no matter how many obstacles and hardships are thrown at them. They now return with their most uncompromising and vicious offering yet, Total World Domination, which is set for a June 16th North American release and a June 22nd release throughout Europe. This new effort perfectly blends the band’s old-school, beat you down hardcore style with a thrash metal infusion resulting in material that will tear your face off. The scathing new track, “Still Hating,” is now streaming at the band’s newly designed MySpace page by clicking below. Prepare to be annihilated.
These maniacs recently embarked on a massive North American headlining tour, Trendkilla 09. The run, which kicked off on May 1st also features For The Fallen Dreams, ABACABB, Suffokate and Thick As Blood in the supporting slots. Either see below or visit their MySpace page to view their complete touring itinerary.
Lorenzo Antonucci (guitars) further comments: “It’s been a long time coming, we haven't hit North America in over a year. We are very excited to be playing all the markets we are hitting on this run because most of them we have never even played before. We are playing the Blood For Blood cover song that we recorded for our new album exclusively for Europe, but the people in the U.S. can catch it live. We have some amazing new Mamaluke TV footage coming soon. Just wait, you won’t believe this shit.
“This is also our test ground for playing the new songs off of our new album, Total World Domination, which is our hardest album yet. It’s a good mix of As Real As It Gets and Maniacal, but fucking harder. I know everyone says that their new album is the best album yet and the fans are probably sick of hearing that but I must say this is a pretty fucking ignorant album. The kids have been going off for the new stuff and it’s awesome to play live.” More...
