Dawn of Retribution To Disband

Geelong death metal band Dawn of Retribution has announced that they are disbanding:

"After four years, countless shows around Australia, one critically acclaimed full length album and a hell of a lot of beers it with some sadness and some optimism for the future that Dawn of Retribution have decided to call it a day.

"This decision is not one that has been made lightly, and as individuals we are looking forward to what the future will present. Some of us will continue on with other musical projects that we hope will be as positively embraced as this one has been, others will treat this as an opportunity to focus on other aspects of life that have been somewhat neglected over the last few years of hard work within the band.

"While we believe this to be the right decision, this is a sad time for us. This disbanding is entirely amicable and we all remain and will continue to be very close friends. We have had some of our best experiences in the Australian music scene while working under the ‘Dawn of Retribution’ banner and we have made some amazing, lifelong friends and will retain some everlasting memories.

"One final show has been booked, and we promise you this will not be one to miss. Details will be released very soon and we are hoping to see you all there for one final, epic party. So as the dawn becomes a dusk, we look to farewell this chapter of music with one hell of a bang!"

Dawn of Retribution has announced that they will be entering the studio in late May to begin tracking their debut full length album, set to be titled "The Plan To End Humanity."

The band commented: "We think this album will have something for everyone on it. The thrashers will get their fill, as will the death metal fans. The more intricate and melodic tastes in music, whether metal or not, will also have something they can enjoy on the release we hope. We’ve pretty much taken as many styles of metal as we can, and some non-metal, and mashed them together to create something pretty original and interesting."

Dawn of Retribution Posts Band Update

Geelong based metal band Dawn of Retribution has posted an update on the band's recent and near future activities.

"Just to give everybody an idea of where we are at, seeing as we haven’t been gigging and have been fairly quiet in the public eye so far this year. We are nearly finished up with the writing for the last song on the album. We will be booking in to record our drum tracks very soon, followed by the guitars and vocals in the coming months. The material for the album is extremely solid, we’re very happy with it, you guys are going to love it!

"Its looking like we will be hoping for a release around mid year of our debut album 'The Plan To End Humanity' depending on a few things, but fingers crossed! Currently, we are pressing on with our album without a bass player. Chris McEwin is going to take on bass duties for the recording of the album, whilst we currently search on for a permanent bass player. Keep checking back for more updates on the release and progress of the album, we hope to see you all at some shows in the not too distant future!"
