The Maryland Deathfest organizers report that "Sonar will be re-opening before MDF, and technically they already have."
As previously reported, the venue of the Maryland Deathfest was up in the air when Baltimore's Sonar nightclub failed to renew their liquor license and closed its doors.
The organizers futher commented: "These last couple of days have been incredibly confusing and stressful, but we are currently back to the regularly scheduled program. And don't worry, beyond plan B is a plan C, because that's how we roll. See you in a couple of weeks."
As such, the set times that were previously announced should now hold.

The ninth annual Maryland Deathfest has announced the final lineup and set times for the event. However, not long after announcing these details came word that the Baltimore venue, Sonar, unexpectedly closed its doors today. The festival organizers claim to have a backup plan that should involve little to no inconvenience to ticket holders (even those coming from out of town) and will be releasng more details soon.

Extreme metal act Lock Up has revealed the tracklisting for its upcoming new album. The album, titled "Necropolis Transparent," is set to be released on July 1, 2011 through Nuclear Blast Records. You can view the album's tracklisting below.

Rotten Sound recently announced a string of European tour dates in April with The Kandidate. The band has now issued the following brief update about appearing at the Obscene Extreme festival:

Bassist Shane Embury (Napalm Death) of the UK death metal band Lock Up has issued the following update regarding canceled tour dates:
"Unfortunately due to the recent events with the Volcano eruption in Iceland we have had to postpone our forthcoming 2 shows this weekend in Italy as flights have been canceled at this moment in time and don't look like they will happen right now."
"We were looking into various other ways of making the shows but with the chaos in Europe right now and the News media making it more scary then it probably is the decision was made between ourselves and Hellfire Agency to postpone the shows for now and reschedule them for a later date in the year."

Swedish extreme metal band Necronaut has announced their signing to Regain Records. Necronaut is a side project of former Dismember drummer Fred Estby. The cover artwork for the album was done by Chat Zar, which created prosthetic effects for such movies as The Ring, Planet of the Apes and Darkman.

The organisers of the Czech Republics Brutal Assault festival has announced two more bands for this years edition of the event. New York hardcore legends Agnostic Front will now be performing at the festival, along with other new confirmation, Swedish black metal artists Watain. The festival takes place in the town of Josefov from August 12th-14th.

Colorado extreme metallers ENEMY REIGN were recently added to the illustrious Neurotic Deathfest 2010 lineup! The Neurotic Deathfest is Europe's premier indoor death metal event. Originally known as the Rotterdam Deathfest (2004 and 2005), the organizers changed the name to Neurotic Deathfest in 2006 when they decided to move the festivities to a new venue and city.

New York crossover legends Life Of Agony will be heading to the United Kingdom for the first time in four years this October to headling the Jager stage at the Damnation Festival which takes place on October 24th at the Leeds University.
Damnation Festival director Gavin McInally said: "Landing a headliner of Life of Agony’s stature is a major coup and the fact it’s the first time they’ll play the UK in four years, makes it all the more special.
"After playing some off the biggest and most respected rock and metal events across Europe this summer, they’ll fly in from New York for this one-off performance and we’re delighted to host what is sure to be a special show."

Lock Up, the Grindcore supergroup which features At The Gates frontman Tomas Lindberg, guitarist Anton Resisenegger of Pentagram and Criminal, Napalm Death bass player Shane Embury and drummer Nick Barker, formerly of Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir, will be headlining the Terrorrizer stage at this year's edition of Britain's, Damnation Festival. And although this will be the bands first show in the United Kingdom for ten years, as well as the live debut of Resisenegger, who replaces the late guitarist Jesse Pintado (formerly of Napalm Death and Terrprizer,) bassist Shane Embury has stated that it will be the bands final performance.

Mick Kenney (ANAAL NATHRAKH, MISTRESS, PROFESSOR FATE, EXPLODER) and Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, LOCK-UP, BRUJERIA) have set up their own record label, Feto Records, as an outlet to release their own music. The first two releases will be LOCK-UP's long-awaited "Live in Japan" album and Mick's EXPLODER debut. Further releases will include Mick's PROFESSOR FATE debut, featuring vocals from Kristoffer Garm Rygg (ARCTURUS, ULVER) and the next MISTRESS album, entitled "The Glory Bitches of Doghead".
LOCK-UP's "Live in Japan" CD was recorded at Club Quattro in Nagoya, Japan on June 28, 2002 and features the following lineup:

For their first gig ever, British cyber/black metal act ANAAL NATHRAKH will be headlining a show at The Underworld in London, on December 15 with KHOLD, TED MAUL and LEECH WOMAN as part of Terrorizer magazine's "A Cold Night In Hell 2006" festival. The band will also play the following day in Birmingham with RAMESSES and NARCOSIS at Edwards No. 8. The lineup of bands on this show was picked personally by ANAAL NATHRAKH. Both shows will have a full live lineup completed by Ventnor on guitar, Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, LOCK UP, WARHAMMER) on bass and Danny Herrera (NAPALM DEATH, VENOMOUS CONCEPT) on drums. Former DIMMU BORGIR drummer Nick Barker has spoken exclusively to Blabbermouth about his surprising departure from the group.
In an official statement announcing Barker's departure, DIMMU BORGIR indicated that "Nicholas has been removed" from the band's lineup and advised their fans to not "waste [their] time speculating why," adding that "we have already moved on."
