Grave, Bonded By Blood Confirmed For Barge To Hell
Departing in less than a month, two more bands have been announced for the Barge to Hell: Grave and Bonded By Blood. The Barge to Hell sets sail Monday, December 3rd, 2012 from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas and returns on Friday, December 7th, 2012.

Lock Up, Nachtmystium Confirmed For Barge To Hell
With a month before boarding the Barge to Hell left, the organizers have announced two more bands: metal supergroup Lock Up, featuring Nicholas Barker on drums (ex-Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir), Shane Embury on bass (Napalm Death), Anton Reisenegger on guitar (Criminal), and Tomas Lindberg on vocals (At The Gates, Disfear) and Nachtmystium.
Also announced was the cancellation of BELPHEGOR. Stated the organizers: "We tried our best to work something out, but regrettably must confirm that they won't be part of BARGE TO HELL. We will make sure that we have a suitable replacement."
The Barge to Hell sets sail Monday, December 3rd, 2012 from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas and returns on Friday, December 7th, 2012.

Two More Bands Confirmed For Bloodstock 2012
Finnish pagan metal outfit Moonsorrow and German power metal group Freedom Call have been confrmed as the latest two bands to take part in this years edition of the British metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air, which will take place at Catton Hall in Walton On Trent, Derbyshire from August 10th-12th.
Speaking on the confirmation, Moonsorrow stated: "We are truly excited to take part in Bloodstock Festival 2012. It's been way too long since we played on the British soil in 2008 and we know that lately there has been a huge demand for Moonsorrow to play in the UK. So, all our loyal fans in the UK, we want to see a massive crowd of insane berserks during our set. Don't let us down because we promise we don't let you down, cheers!"
Freedom Call added: "The Bloodstock Festival is the pulsating heart of Heavy Metal...a great audience, which knows exactly to revel."

Anton Reisenegger Comments On Lock Up Tour
As its tour with Goatwhore and Strong Intention reaches the halfway mark, ArmyOfOneTV caught up with Lock Up's guitarist Anton Reisenegger to get his thoughts on the tour and on Lock Up's future. Reisenegger, a veteran of Chilean band Pentagram, joined the band in 2009 when original guitarist Jesse passed away. Reisenegger had met Shane Embury down in Chile when his band Criminal played with Napalm Death. Here is Anton being interviewed at Bogie's in Albany, NY during the tour. Goatwhore To Tour With Hate Eternal
Label mates Goatwhore and Hate Eternal will be hitting the road on February 18th for a co-headlining tour. The supporting bands on the tour will be Fallujah and Cerebral Bore. The tour will take the bands from New Orleans to Brooklyn, with stops along the way in Hollywood, the Pacific Northwest, and Canada. Dates are as follows:

Strong Intention Comments On Upcoming Shows
Long running Maryland powerviolence legion Strong Intention will embark on a short run of tour dates this February opening for Lock Up and Goatwhore. The trek will commence on February 8th in Buffalo and pummel its way through seven cities before coming to a ceremonial close on February 16th in Brooklyn.
Commented front man Zac Ohler: "We as a band are honored to be taking part in Lock Up's first ever North American tour. It will be our second go'round with Goatwhore and the first time in five years that we will be touring with Mr. Tomas Lindberg since the Disfear tour in 2006. We will be bringing a complete bombastic display of thrash/grind/punk/hardcore terrorism with us as a tour like this demands it."

Goatwhore Comments On Lock Up Tour
As was previously announced, U.K. death metal act Lock Up will be hitting the road for a North American tour with Goatwhore and Strong Intention. Lock Up features Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, Disfear), Shane Embury (Napalm Death, Venomous Concept), Nicolas Barker (ex-Cradle Of Filth, ex-Dimmu Borgir), and Anton Reisenegger (Criminal, Pentagram).
Goatwhore vocalist Ben Falgoust comments on the trek, "We know it is only a hand full of shows with Lock Up, but it will be a great start into the release of our next record. Not only are the Lock Up and Strong Intention guys good friends, they will both add to the complete assault of this aggressive line up. We have spoken to Nick and Shane of Lock Up numerous times about doing some tours together in the past. We are quite enthusiastic about hitting the road with them even if it is such a short run. This will not only be an insane attack of musical chaos but numerous nights of complete lawless behavior. Prepare yourselves for the assault!"

Lock Up Announces North American Headline Tour
Lock Up, the U.K. death metal group featuring genre veterans Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, Disfear), Shane Embury (Napalm Death, Venomous Concept), Nicolas Barker (ex-Cradle Of Filth, ex-Dimmu Borgir) and Anton Reisenegger (Criminal, Pentagram), has announced its first ever North American tour. The headlining run includes Goatwhore and Strong Intention and is set to kick off in February.
Said drummer Nick Barker, “After many attempts in the past, sadly to no avail, Lock Up finally gets to make it stateside for a string of shows with our good friends from Louisiana, Goatwhore. For us in Lock Up, to play with Goatwhore in the US is like a dream tour, as they are one of our favorite bands - and being good friends with them too only makes this package even more special to us. Be prepared North America ‘cause we're coming over to blast your minds into deathgrind oblivion!”

"Metal For The Masses" Volume 9 Details Revealed
On September 13th, Century Media will release the "Metal For The Masses Volume 9" compilation exclusively through Hot Topic. The release consists of three discs and 48 tracks.
"We're very excited to be putting out the 9th installment of the Metal For The Masses series," says Century Media President, Don Robertson. "This low priced Hot Topic exclusive has been a very important sampler of our artists for the last decade and has proven to be a great way to give the metal community a chance to discover new music."

Carcass Frontman To Guest On New Lock Up Album
European extreme metal act Lock Up have announced that both Carcass frontman Jeff Walker and Hypocrisy/Pain vocalist Peter Tagtgren - who performed on the first Lock Up album - will be appearing on the band's forthcoming new full length. U.K. extreme metal act Lock Up has posted a new trailer online to promote its forthcoming new album. The album, titled "Necropolis Transparent," is set to land in North American stores on July 12, 2011 through Nuclear Blast Records. You can view the trailer below.
Lock Up To Miss Maryland Deathfest
European extreme metal act Lock Up has announced that it will be pulling out of the forthcoming edition of the Maryland Deathfest event. A statement from the band is provided below.
"We regret to announce that Lock Up will not be performing at this year's Maryland Deathfest. We are days away from the festival and our visas have yet to show up. Everything has been handled the right way but apparently things are taking longer these days due to a larger amounts of red tape and bureaucracy. We hope to make things up shortly when our visas actually arrive with some North American tour dates!"
Despite previous difficulties with the venue Maryland Deathfest IX will take place between May 26th to 29th at Sonar in Baltimore, Maryland.

Maryland Deathfest To Go On At Sonar As Planned
The Maryland Deathfest organizers report that "Sonar will be re-opening before MDF, and technically they already have."
As previously reported, the venue of the Maryland Deathfest was up in the air when Baltimore's Sonar nightclub failed to renew their liquor license and closed its doors.
The organizers futher commented: "These last couple of days have been incredibly confusing and stressful, but we are currently back to the regularly scheduled program. And don't worry, beyond plan B is a plan C, because that's how we roll. See you in a couple of weeks."
As such, the set times that were previously announced should now hold.

Maryland Deathfest 2011 To Change Venues
The ninth annual Maryland Deathfest has announced the final lineup and set times for the event. However, not long after announcing these details came word that the Baltimore venue, Sonar, unexpectedly closed its doors today. The festival organizers claim to have a backup plan that should involve little to no inconvenience to ticket holders (even those coming from out of town) and will be releasng more details soon.

Rotten Sound To Play Obscene Extreme Festival
Rotten Sound recently announced a string of European tour dates in April with The Kandidate. The band has now issued the following brief update about appearing at the Obscene Extreme festival:
