Funeral In Heaven Posts New Single, Video Online

Sri Lankan black metal band Funeral In Heaven has released a new single and fan video.

"Janaani Janmabhumisca Svargadapi Gariyasi" is a narration inspired by the famous "Vijitha Pura Satana" (Duttagamini(161-137 BC)-Elara war) and dedicated to the 10 of the greatest warriors in Sri Lankan history; Nandhimitra, Suranimala, Bharana, Mahasona, Theraputtabhya, Gotahbaya, Gotaimbara, Vasabha, Velusumana and Phussadeva. This is also the slowest of the band's compositions so far, which also lyrically carries Sanskrit text. This track is one of the many chapters from the concept debut album, which is focused on primarily the war, The ambiances conjured were under a specific theme and concept, the commencement and ending of the great "Vijitha Pura Satana." Soundscapes have been used according to the authentic chronicle, e.g. The "chatura?ga senawa" which literally translates to the four divisions of the army, "ath, as, riya, paabala" (elephants, infantry, chariots, cavalry).

The track is available for listening and download at the band's MySpace page.

Amila Galapaththi has put together a video of Funeral In Heaven's live performance of "The Winds Of Uva" at SN/CN along with a couple of other animated and photographs with the purpose of emphasizing the message of the song.

The band comments on the video: "This video was completely edited by Amila and he indeed has done a great fucking job on it! We of Funeral In Heaven are euphoric about the connection which is visible here between the listener/fan and the band. The visual images and graphics he has used to emphasize his own version of the picture he drew for himself inspired by the lyrics, music and theme are just fucking amazing. Every single image he has used (cheesy or non we don't care) symbolizes his own thoughts which almost completely resembles our own, when we created this song." More...
