Long-running British metallers BENEDICTION have released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"A lot of questions have been asked about [the status of BENEDICTION drummer] Nick Barker [formerly of DIMMU BORGIR and CRADLE OF FILTH]. Yes, he is still BENEDICTION's drummer, and yes, he is helping TESTAMENT out on drums on their tour and album. This was discussed between us and it is no problem to either band. Put yourself in Nick's shoes — one of your favorite bands of all time asks you to use your drumming skills on their tour and write on their new album; it is a chance of a lifetime! It was talked about on both sides and Nick had our full blessing on this. On some of the festivals in Europe this year he will be playing sets for both bands on the same day! If you know Nick, then you will know that there is no problem with stamina! How many bands do various members of NAPALM [DEATH] play with on top of their own NAPALM DEATH thing? Frank Healy and Dave Hunt from BENEDICTION also play and record with other bands (ANAAL NATHRAKH, MISTRESS, CEREBRAL FIX). The loyalty within the band is also strong so we have no problems about these things happening. Nick could have left BENEDICTION if he wanted. We said we would understand if he wanted to join one the most legendary outfits in the world. He wanted to stay as a part of BENEDICTION. That speaks volumes. BENEDICTION is a unit, not a single person. Our live shows this year will let the music do the talking for us."
BENEDICTION's new album, "Killing Music", will be released later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records, with whom the band recently re-signed. The CD will mark the recording debut with the group of drummer Barker, who was most recently a member of BRUJERIA and who played with ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares in the short-lived DRIVEN BY SUFFERING (working name).
Benediction gave the following update via their website:
At the moment, the band are taking a short break from eachother before starting on the recording on the new album. In the meantime, Nick Barker is helping bay area legends Testament out with some live shows and maybe playing on the new album by them as well.
Frank Healy is doing a few shows with the reformed Cerebral Fix and writing and playing on their new album. He has also finished writing material for another band called The Burning Deities.
Dave Hunt is doing a new album with Mistress and also some live shows with Anaal Nathrakh.
There are a few lyrics that need sorting out on the new Benediction and also choosing which tracks threy will include on Killing music. At the moment there are too many songs !!!!
Benediction will also be playing at some european festivals this summer. Go to the Tourdates pages or to the myspace pages to see the details of these shows.
New merchandise is also beeing finalised and will be put up on both myspace site and this one. Some photo’s will be sent to both sites over the week. More festival appearances are in the contract stage and will be forwarded to both sites once they are confirmed.
Inferno Festival organizers have issued the following update:
"Like last year, there will be a kick-off party in Trondheim, Norway. ALLFADER and OLM will play live. During the evening we will announce the full Inferno lineup and we are giving away one Inferno Festival three-day pass and some other goodies. The event will take place at Kafe Larssen. Doors open at 22.00 with the first band going on at approx. 23.00. Tickets cost 80 NOK and it's an 18 year age limit. More information can be found here."
The 2007 Inferno Festival (www.infernofestival.net) is scheduled for April 5th - 7th at Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway. The festival lineup is as follows: ANAAL NATHRAKH, DARK FUNERAL, DØDHEIMSGARD (DHG), IMMORTAL, PRIMORDIAL.
Long-running U.K. extreme metallers BENEDICTION have issued the following update:
"A lot of you are asking what is going on with BENEDICTION. Well, here goes:
"On the new album front, we are fine tuning the guitar fill and lyrics and trying to decide on the final track listing. We have way too many tracks for one album, so once we narrow them down, we will go straight into the studio and record the fucking thing. We are also waiting for the record producer to book us in. We have waited this long so we do not mind waiting a little longer until his current projects are fulfilled.
"In the meantime, some of BENEDICTION have been doing other music-related stuff:
* Nicholas Barker is helping out TESTAMENT on their live dates and more than likely the new TESTAMENT album as well.
* Dave Hunt is doing vocals with MISTRESS and ANAAL NATHRAKH and will record albums and do some live shows with both bands as well. ANAAL NATHRAKH will definately be assaulting your senses in a dangerous live environment this year.
* Frank Healy is playing bass in the reformed CEREBRAL FIX and will also play on their new album. He played on one of the John Peel sessions for ANAAL NATHRAKH which appears on the 'When Fire Rains Down from the Sky' reissue. On top of that, he is putting a band together called THE BURNING DEITIES. He has written all the music for this band and will showcase the songs live after BENEDICTION's album is completed.
* Daz is busy with Rewy on the fine tuning of the album for BENEDICTION. It's all about guitar riffs after all!!!"
BENEDICTION's new album, "Killing Music", will be released via Nuclear Blast Records, with whom the band recently re-signed. The CD will mark the recording debut with the group of Barker, who was most recently a member of BRUJERIA and who played with ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares in the short-lived DRIVEN BY SUFFERING (working name).

Thomas Lindberg (ex-AT THE GATES, THE CROWN) - Vocals

British black metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have completed their third full length album, entitled "Eschaton", the band's 3rd full length album. The journey through rabid violence, depravity and horrified clarity of vision was this time abetted by, amongst others, Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH) and Attila Csihar (MAYHEM). Featuring the likes of the berserk rage of "Bellum Onium Contra Omnes" and the epic "When The Lion Devours Both Dragon And Child", the storm of "Eschaton" will thunder forth on October 16th via Season of Mist.
British black metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have posted the following message on their official web site:
"ANAAL NATHRAKH are approximately 70% finished with the recording of their new album. The following may help plug the gaping hole between now and its release:
Owing to the lack of regard for decency shared by Mordgrimm and Earache Records, the labels have decided to mutually re-release ANAAL NATHRAKH's 'The Codex Necro' and 'When Fire Rains Down From The Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown' (label will vary according to territory). To further extend the list of various justifications for their respective punishment, obliteration and damnation, those concerned have chosen to augment these versions of the recordings by the inclusion of the following:
"'The Codex Necro' will have bonus tracks comprising the Peel session recorded for the late John Peel's legendary radio show at the BBC studios at the great man's personal request. These include the first ever performance of 'The Oblivion Gene', later to appear in its full re-recorded form on the subsequent album 'Domine Non Es Dignus'. No, that doesn't mean this session was the first recording of the song, it means it was the first performance EVER, the song was never even rehearsed before this recording session.
"'When Fire...' is reissued with the inclusion of ANAAL NATHRAKH's full live band debut, the 'Rock Show' live session recorded for the BBC radio show of the same name. Notable in this instance, alongside performances from Ventnor and Chemical Nova, are the appearances of Emburyonymous making its live debut for the band, and Nick Barker who bastardised for this recording alone.
"The releases are simultaneous for the American territory on the 18th of April, and releases in other territories will follow in the weeks after this date.
"May this news bring no tears of joy whatsoever to anyone's face, anywhere, at any time."
For their first gig ever, British cyber/black metal act ANAAL NATHRAKH will be headlining a show at The Underworld in London, on December 15 with KHOLD, TED MAUL and LEECH WOMAN as part of Terrorizer magazine's "A Cold Night In Hell 2006" festival. The band will also play the following day in Birmingham with RAMESSES and NARCOSIS at Edwards No. 8. The lineup of bands on this show was picked personally by ANAAL NATHRAKH. Both shows will have a full live lineup completed by Ventnor on guitar, Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, LOCK UP, WARHAMMER) on bass and Danny Herrera (NAPALM DEATH, VENOMOUS CONCEPT) on drums. Tickets are available on www.ticketweb.co.uk.
UK black metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have posted the following message:
Following the recent live session, the BBC will be taking the arguably irresponsible step of broadcasting Anaal Nathrakh playing as a full band from their Maida Vale studios. The show goes out on the evening of the 22nd of March at 1am UK time, and can also be heard through the BBC website both live and for a week or so after broadcast. 3 tracks were performed with, as mentioned, a full band lineup comprising the Anaal Nathrakh duo, Shane Embury ( NAPALM DEATH), Nick Barker ( ex- DIMMU BORGIR), Ventnor and Chemical Nova.
The recordings were described at the BBC studio as a 'grotesque abomination'. This is considered apposite by all involved.
British Black metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have psoted the following message:
"The BBC have again asked the band to perform a set, this time to be aired on the
Radio 1 Rock Show (broadcast date currently TBC).
To make the occasion particularly interesting, Anaal Nathrakh will, for the first time ever, be performing as a full band. Currently planned to flesh out the lineup are Nick Barker [ ex- DIMMU BORGIR] and Shane Embury [ NAPALM DEATH], although precise details remain to be seen.

British black metal act Anaal Nathrakh have set "Domine Non Es Dignus" as the title of their second full-length album, tentatively due before the end of the year through Season Of Mist Records. British Black metal act ANAAL NATHRAKH have signed an exclusive two-album recording agreement with Season of Mist Records.
