Allegaeon To Begin Recording New Album Next Month

Allegaeon is set to enter the studio next week alongside original vocalist Ezra Haynes to record their seventh full-length album with longtime producer Dave Otero (Flatline Audio.) Fans can keep up to date with the process via the band's Instagram page, with more content being uploaded through Patreon.

Guitarist Greg Burgess comments: "We are really excited to get back in the studio with Dave and get to work. The album is shaping up to be a strong amalgamation of songs across the discography. Some songs sound like they would be at home on Formshifter and some sound like they are straight off of 'Damnum.' It's a very exciting time to be in Allegaeon and we can't wait for everyone to hear this record."

Adds Haynes; "It has been a decade since I‘ve had the pleasure of creating a full-length album with the boys. The chemistry of this lineup is nothing I‘ve experienced before and there‘s a lot to unpack with this new album. A decade's worth of experiences, and I‘m finally ready to share it with the fine folk of the metal community. 2024 is really shaping up and I couldn‘t be more excited. Here‘s to lucky #7!"

Allegaeon Posts New Music Video Online

In February of this year, Allegaeon released their latest album, "Damnum." The title means "loss" in Latin and consequently, the lyrical themes mark a deviation from the band's previous sci-fi/science-based output. Track number six from the album, "Called Home," may be the most emotional and powerful example of that theme on the album. That song is now accompanied by a new video, which can be seen below.

Guitarist Greg Burgess comments on the concept of the song and video: "Over the last few years people around the world have experienced immeasurable loss and grief. This song and this video is a representation of a personal experience. By sharing this story we hope that it brings some sense of peace to anyone who has shared in a similar experience, and to possibly throw a lifeline to someone out there who may be suffering. You are not alone." More...

Allegaeon Releases New Music Video

Ahead of their anticipated album "Damnum" (out February 25th), Allegaeon have delivered the next video from the album, the visually haunting and captivating "Of Beasts And Worms." Accompanying the track, the band shares details behind the video, track listing and additional tour dates.

“This is the place where I rest my bones and the river that cleanses me runs alone!” cries frontman Riley McShane on the track. “This song is about finding a place of inner quiet, a safe haven to explore your thoughts and escape from the anxieties of your life,” the vocalist explains. “This lyrical intention is paired with a depiction of disparity and tiredness with the world around you and the stressors that contribute to the deafening silence of the mundane. In the music video, we showcase a more physical - and graphic - display of this thought process where the escape from the daily grind is manifested into a willing self-sacrifice. Though a dramatization, this concept of sacrifice to find your own personal peace can be applied to something less tangible and played an important role in my own process while writing the lyrics for Damnum. Thank you for watching and listening, we hope you enjoy it."

Tracklisting:

1. Bastards of the Earth
2. Of Beasts and Worms
3. Into Embers
4. To Carry My Grief Through Torpor and Silence
5. Vermin
6. Called Home
7. Blight
8. The Dopamine Void Pt. 1
9. The Dopamine Void Pt. 2
10. Saturnine
11. In Mourning
12. Only Loss More...
