My America Streaming "Bad Hosts"

Brooklyn trio My America has wrapped up the recording of new album "Misses" with producer Kevin Bernsten (Full of Hell, Magrudergrind), and today Noisey premieres "Bad Hosts," a track from the session. Listen in below.

New album "Misses" was recorded and mixed by Bernsten at Developing Nations and mastered by Brad Boaright (Nails, Code Orange. Front man Matt Turner comments: "'Bad Hosts' is the last song we wrote and recorded. The album itself is so serious and intense, 'Bad Hosts' is something we did for fun, to lighten the mood. We tracked the song live with Kevin. Although it's not part of the album, it's an essential part of our whole experience of making the album."

My America will also play May 13th at Lucky 13 in the group's hometown of Brooklyn, NY. More...

My America Posts Recording Footage

My America has teamed with Substream Magazine to present a video clip showing behind-the-scenes action from the recording of new album "Misses." Check it out below.

The Brooklyn trio's second full-length, "Misses" was recorded with producer Kevin Bernsten (Full of Hell, Magrudergrind) at Developing Nations in Baltimore, MD and is currently being mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Code Orange) at Audiosiege.

As frontman Matt Turner states, "After playing music together for over ten years I feel like we finally have something that's truly representative of us... This the record I've wanted us to release for a long time."

Before stripping down to its current three-piece lineup, My America was a quartet called My America Is Watching Tigers Die that toured the nation throughout the '00s and put out several releases, most notable 2009's "Stone Age" LP on Pluto Records. More...

My America Streaming New Demo Song Online

My America has issued the following statement about streaming a new demo song online at their MySpace page:

"We probably should have done this a long time ago, but better late than never I always say! You can check and see EXACTLY what we are doing at any given time by going here and visiting us on some site called Twatter.

"We also posted a new song that we had originally self-recorded for our own personal use but we have now decided to share it with the public due to its timely lyrical content. The song is called 'Swindled' and it's about the Avian Swine S.A.R.S Flu that's been going around and snatching people up lately. This one is for you guys.

"This song and a handful of others will comprise our next release that we hope to have out late this summer or in the fall. More details on this will come throughout this summer. So keep your board shorts on bro!"

My America Shortens Name, Reveals Tour Dates

MY AMERICA IS WATCHING TIGERS DIE will now be known simply as MY AMERICA. The change comes after the loss of singer David Rushman last fall and the decision by the band to carry on as a three-piece. The band has a new MySpace address, myspace.com/myamericatheband, to coincide with the name change.

They've also announced further dates for their upcoming tour. If you can help fill any remaining TBA* dates, contact the band via MySpace or email myamericathebandATgmail.com.
