Heavy Metal Black Friday Deals Revealed

It's almost Black Friday again (which for many stores has essentially just become "Black Month" as the sales start earlier and employees are expected to work all Thanksgiving) and you might not think that matters to metalheads, but many of the labels actually jump on that bandwagon.

Best of all - you don't have to go to a store at four in the morning to get these deals.

The holiday / Thanksgiving / Christmas sales are already ramping up through the various online distros, so if you're looking for new music on a budget, these heavy metal Black Friday deals will help you find new tunes.

This is just the start though, so check back in each day as we add in more deals. Specifically look for Amazon to launch something big soon, as that online juggernaut usually does $5 albums that rotate out each day. If you know of any metal sales that aren't listed below, be sure to leave a comment and we'll get it added.

And it's here - the Amazon $5 digital album sale arrives! Grab digital copies of music from Megadeth, Rage Against The Machine, Veil of Maya, Slayer, and more in rotating deals on full-length albums.

Most of the stock on the Nuclear Blast America shop - CDs, vinyl, shirts, etc. - are on sale for the "Blackest Friday," up to 45% off.

The Razorback Records webstore is offering 25% off your order if you buy at least $10 worth of music through November 30th.

The Thanksgiving Week Sale is now going at the Facedown Records web store with albums on sale for as little as $1.

Bullet Tooth is offering vinyl bundles on discount, ranging from $15 - $50 and featuring music from Earth Crisis, Memphis May Fire, Ritual, and more.

Friends And Fans Discuss Impact Of Earth Crisis

While Earth Crisis is preparing for newest release “The Discipline” (due out May 19th on Bullet Tooth), a few friends and fans got together to speak about what the band means to them.

20 years after debut album “Destroy The Machines” was released, Davey Havok (AFI), Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy), Igor Cavalera (Sepultura), Toby Morse (H2O), Dan Smith (LA Ink), Paul Waggoner (Between The Buried And Me), Peter Young (ALF), and Joel Capolongo (Sea Shepard) discuss those songs, the messages, and the impact Earth Crisis has had on their lives and the straight edge and animal rights movements worldwide. Check it out below.

“Without Earth Crisis, I may have never become vegan.” - Davey Havok (AFI)

“Earth Crisis are the entire reason why I became vegan straight edge.” - Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy)

Founding member, guitarist and song writer Scott Crouse, commented, "We think the songs on
'Destroy The Machines' are still strong, and relevant, two decades later. We have always wanted to re-record them, and figured the 20 year anniversary of the album was a fitting occasion. Our intention isn't to erase the original versions, just offer another version we feel will offer the power and clarity the songs deserve. We also decided to record two songs we demo'd years ago because they're great and people need to hear them! 'Behind The Mask' and 'Time Of Strife' are timeless and we think ExC fans will love them."

See the band live on these dates:

April 4 - Fayetteville, NC @ Empire w/ Biohazard, Sworn Enemy
April 5 - Jacksonville, FL @ South East Beast Fest w/ Life Of Agony, Biohazard
May 16 - New York, NY @ BNB Bowl w/ Madball, Candiria More...

Earth Crisis Announces "The Discipline" EP

Earth Crisis' chugging riffs and barked declarations served as the mouthpiece of America's vegan straight-edge movement throughout the '90s, detailing the ideals of animal and human liberation, drug-free living, and personal empowerment through hardcore music.

The band is proud to announce a new 4 song 7" vinyl and CD release, titled "The Discipline," is coming May 19th, 2015 on Bullet Tooth.

The EP will have two newly recorded songs from the band's pioneering debut album "Destroy The Machines," and two tracks die-hard fans may recognize from unreleased demos from the 90s.

Founding member Scott Crouse commented, "We think the songs on 'Destroy The Machines' are still strong, and relevant, two decades later. We have always wanted to re-record them, and figured the 20 year anniversary of the album was a fitting occasion. Our intention isn't to erase the original versions, just offer another version we feel will offer the power and clarity the songs deserve. Earth Crisis Releases Lyric Video For New Track

Earth Crisis released a lyric video for the new track "Out of the Cages" and premiered it over at Revolver's website at this location (also in the player below). The song appears on the new album "Salvation of Innocents," which releases in North America on March 18th via Candlelight Records.

The focal point of Salvation Of Innocents is aimed at ending human injustices towards animals and the environment in the ever-antagonistic Earth Crisis style, and as boldly exemplified in the brand new lyric video for the album's second of twelve massive tracks, "Out Of The Cages." Through underground activist footage the band's lyrical intent with the song is unquestionable, and their vibrant, modern tone is ultra apparent in the musical backdrop for of the video.

Stated guitarist Scott Crouse of the track, "'Out Of The Cages' is one of my favorite songs on Salvation... Everyone watch the lyric video, and do your homework, because it'll be a live set staple for sure."
