Lynchmada Splits With Vocalist

Front man Joel Harris of Australian outfit Lynchmada has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with the band:

"After 12 years of fronting Lynchmada, the time has rolled around for me to hang up the mic.

"I've spent almost half my life singing for this band, so it's near impossible to find the words to encompass everything it, and the people around it, have and do mean to me.

"It's made me the person I am today. It's given me everything my 13 year old self had ever hoped of achieving and then some. It's turned friends into brothers that will last a lifetime.

"This amazing country and the people in it helped me realize my dreams, and all I had to do was yell words into a microphone.

"Mada may continue with fresh blood, I guess we'll see, but at the very least you might see us on some farewell dates around Oz next year. Until then....what a ride it's been."

Lynchmada Announces Australian Shows w/Mnemic

Queensland crushers Lynchmada are about to slay across Australia on the Whiplash tour in support of the mighty Mnemic, and will unleash a new single titled “Immerser” to coincide with the tour. You can stream the track over at Puregrainaudio.com here, or buy the single via iTunes.

Commenting on the new single, Trutch Inc. Records label manager Greg Shaw states, "Immerser is Lynchmada at the band’s very best, it demonstrates what this incredible band is truly capable of. The song is epic, anthemic and more aggressive than previous material, and also offers an appeal to a cross section of heavy music listeners. I really look forward to hearing what Lynchmada will offer next."

Lynchmada and Truth Inc. Records are also very pleased to announce that the band is now officially endorsed by ESP guitars. Commenting on the endorsement, guitarist Simon Connor states "We are so incredibly pleased to be a part of the ESP shredding community, a community that features some of the world’s leading metal bands. Be sure that our new axes will be getting a work out on the upcoming national tour alongside Mnemic."

Pit Stories: Anyone Missing A Leg?

We catch up with bands and fans all over the world to get their best pit stories from metal shows every week. This time around bassist Kent Haines from Australian act Lynchmada shares the following tale of a missing leg that went crowd surfing:

We were playing an all ages venue in Brisbane City called the Lions Den where bands such as Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction also cut their teeth.

It's a cranking moshpit with kids crowd surfing and the venue was packed to the brim at about 300 people inside this hall, when I see what looks like a crutch being passed through the audience like a crowd surfer. At this point I was thinking 'Wow, someone who is on crutches must be pretty game going in THAT pit!' Anyway, it finally lands on the stage and our singer picks it up and holds it aloft. It ain't no crutch, it was someone's false leg! To which we were all in hysterics once we realised what it actually was, so he yells out in between laughter "Does anyone own this?"

We see this taller kid hopping through the crowd laughing with his hands out, and low and behold the guy only had one leg, his friends had taken it off him as a joke (with friends like that, who needs enemies right?), but he was having a great time anyway so I guess it was OK. Leg was returned promptly and a fun time was had by all. The end.

Lynchmada released the band's latest album "To the Earth" last year, and you can check out tracks from the release by heading over to the group's Facebook profile here.

Be sure to check back in again next Tuesday as metal fans and band members share their favorite pit stories.
