Minnesota-based death/thrash band Under Eden has announced the addition of vocalist Alex Gorgos (Vulnerata) and bassist Patrick Morris (Demonicon) to its ranks. The revamped lineup made its first live appearance on June 19th in St. Paul, Minnesota in support of Revocation.
Alex provided guest vocals for the song "Exiled From Existence" from the band's sophomore album "The Science of Self-Defeat," which can be heard through the SoundCloud player below.

Under Eden has issued the following update about parting ways with their drummer:
"As a handful of people reading this may have already been aware, our good friend and original drummer Josh Fetzek announced his departure from Under Eden at the end of August. Although this was unfortunate for us as a band, it wasn't entirely unexpected - Josh was getting married and was also increasingly busy playing in Nailed Shut (with his wife) - so there was no bad blood. Being that Josh had completed his drum tracks for the next album well in advance, and our only scheduled show had been double-booked and therefore canceled, the only immediate effect was that we wouldn't be scheduling any new dates.
"That brings us to our new drummer: Jamie Strobach. In addition to being a part of the extended Under Eden family for many years (engineer on The Savage Circle and mastering engineer on Phoenix on Frozen Wings) he is also a very established drummer, having played with numerous bands - Forgotten Sun, Seventh Calling, Impaler, Cold Colours and currently Shadowcraft - and has remained very involved with Under Eden over the years. That being the case, he was the first person we asked once Josh informed us of his decision.
"Since we still have a bit of work to do on The Science of Self-Defeat, we are splitting our time between finishing that and getting Jamie up to speed on the new songs; he already knew the old songs to some extent. We don't plan to schedule any shows for the remainder of 2009, as we hope to find a new label once recording is finished and the album is ready for mixing. In the interim, we will sneak some song previews onto our MySpace page just as soon as we think they're ready for public consumption.
"Check back - more updates will follow!"
Under Eden has issued the following updates:
"We have updated the band website to include photos from the Northern Hammer Fest and Animal Ark Benefit shows. The discography page has been updated, with the remixed/remastered versions of ‘Most Low Gods’ and ‘Seventh Night’ made available as free downloads." More...
Death metal band Under Eden has issued the following statement about parting ways with their bassist and working on new material:
As is probably obvious by now, the completion of our next album has been delayed by everything from the mundane "real world" obligations of work and college to things of a more physically challenging nature like injuries and illness. Regardless, Under Eden is now back on track to record the remainder of the new songs in January. No plans for a self-released album though - we will be seeking a new label to put this one out!
In other band news, bassist Jesse Wedel has left Under Eden to pursue a new project. He will still contribute bass tracks to the upcoming album, but we will play our scheduled shows as a four-piece. Prior to Jesse joining back in 2005, it was just the four of us, so it'll be like "back in the day" for the immediate future. Although we are not auditioning bassists until recording is complete, anyone interested can certainly contact us for future consideration.
