Fozzy Announce Release Date For Album Re-Issue

FOZZY — the band featuring vocalist Chris Jericho (of WWE wrestling fame) and members of STUCK MOJO — will release "All That Remains… Reloaded" on March 25 via BCD Music Group distribution. The set can be pre-ordered via Amazon.com.

"All That Remains… Reloaded" will feature the reissue of the "All That Remains" CD with new artwork and a bonus DVD featuring FOZZY live in front of 20,000 screaming fans in the UK.

In a July 2007 interview with The Baltimore Sun, Jericho had the following to say about FOZZY's current status: "We did a lot of touring [in 2006] in the UK. We've actually made a good name for ourselves in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We toured there five times between February '05 and February '06. We also toured Australia, Germany, Canada and a little bit in the States. We did kind of a world tour. Once you do that, in order to tour again, you have to work on a new record. That's where we're at right now. I've already written all the lyrics for it and the guys in the band are starting to come up with some riffs. But they [some of the other members of FOZZY] have another band called STUCK MOJO that they've been touring with all summer, so it goes back and forth. It's kind of on hold just until we can get time together to start working on a new record. We're very fortunate. The last record did a lot for us and it was cool because we got to headline at a lot of big places, especially in England. We played at the London Astoria three times and sold it out all three times, and that's a famous venue. THE BEATLES played the Astoria. IRON MAIDEN played the Astoria. Some really big bands still play there to this day, so just to go to places like that and sell them out and tear the house down, it's like you put a little checkmark by that knowing that, 'Well, we did that.' It's cool to know that you've been vindicated and know that the band got big enough to do that basically on our own with not a lot of help from anybody."

Chris Jericho last year released "A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex" (Grand Central Publishing). The autobiography (book cover) focuses on the early days of his wrestling and performing career.

FOZZY recently released a collection of never-before-heard demos, early mixes and instrumental versions taken from guitarist Rich "The Duke" Ward's personal library.

"All That Remains" was originally released in January 2005 via SPV Records. A video for the album's first single, "Enemy", was filmed in San Diego, CA in December 2004 with director/British filmmaker Paul Hough.

"All That Remains" was produced by Rick Beato (SHINEDOWN, CHARLIE MARS, INGRAM HILL) and features guest performances by guitar legends Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), Marty Friedman (ex-MEGADETH), and Mark Tremonti (CREED, ALTER BRIDGE). Gold-record-selling rap artist BONE CRUSHER also makes a special guest appearance on the record. More...

Stuck Mojo Guitarist Places Guitar On Ebay

The following message has been posted by the official Stuck mojo Myspace account:

"Guitar played in Open Season and I'm American video for sale.

This Tuesday, I am listing my Jim Nunis guitar on Ebay. This is a one of a kind guitar that I had made for me by the late Jim Nunis. Every piece of wood and hardware used to build this guitar was hand picked by me. It is a Les Paul/Strat hybrid. Standard Mahogany Les Paul cutaway body, with a Strat 's three pickup configuration. The bridge pickup is a SHR-1 hot rails humbucker and SSL-7 quarter-pound staggered pickups are in the middle and neck position. I had the guitar made with a super beefy maple neck, a maple fretboard, Spertzel tuners, a graphite nut, five position switch and a one volume knob is all you need (alla-Eddie Van Halen). The finish is a flat black relic finish and is marked as the, Rich "The Duke" Ward Prototype on the back of the headstock. This guitar was used to track parts on Southern Born Killers and was the guitar that I played in both, the I'm American and Open Season videos.

This guitar is an amazing player, has great tone and is the only one in existence.

I thought that I would offer it up to the Mojo/Fozzy/Duke/Sick Speed supporters first before listing it. Anyone interested, please private message me at www.dukerocks.com/phpBB2/ (username-the duke) or leave me a message www.myspace.com/thedukerocks.

Opening offer at $2000 plus shipping in it's original Nunis hardshell case.

Respectfully, Rich Ward"

Fozzy Drummer Departs, Replacement Announced

Frank "Bud" Fontsere has left Fozzy and Stuck Mojo. This is an amicable decision between Bud and Rich Ward. For the upcoming Fozzy and Stuck Mojo tours of the UK, Fozzy are joined by "veteran Atlanta drummer" Eric Sanders.

Rich had this to say:
"Eric has two music degrees and the largest collection of metal cds that I've ever seen. He is what we refer to as a "retarded" drummer (meaning that I feel retarded when see him play). Eric has some big shoes to fill and Bud can never be replaced, but jaws will drop when this guy gets behind the kit.

Please everybody, join me below in wishing Frank good luck in the future and hope that we see him back on stage real soon."

Chris Jericho: Wrestling or Rock?

In an interview with Electricbasement.com's Ryan Ogle, superstar wrestler and FOZZY frontman CHRIS JERICHO responds to the hypothetical of having to choose between wreslting or his rock music career, "That’s an interesting question. I’ve been in wrestling for 16 years and I’ve accomplished more than I ever thought I would ever accomplish. It’s still a lot of fun for me, I still enjoy it. But once again, playing with band and seeing the band grow in leaps and bounds, to me, is very fresh and new and exciting. I’d like to take it as far as it go with the band, because I think we have a lot to offer. So who knows what will happen in the future. Music is a lot easier on my body than wrestling anyhow. So we’ll see what happens."

Fozzy has just released their third album, All That Remains, the first to include all original material.

New Fozzy Video Posted Online

Fozzy's video for the track "Enemy" has been posted online at Launch.com. The clip was filmed in San Diego, CA last month with director/British filmmaker Paul Hough.

Regarding he making of the video, Fozzy guitarist Rich Ward (Stuck Mojo) recently wrote, "The concept of the video was written by British filmmaker Paul Hough, who also directed the video. I have to give it up for Paul. He has the perfect demented writing style to put him on the map of horror movie royalty. There are a lot of cool shots and plot devices used in the video but, in the interest of time, I won't detail all of them. Here's the Reader's Digest version of the story:

"Guy with one leg crawls up multiple flights of stairs, catches his wife in the stairwell with another dude, keeps climbing until he gets on the roof where the band is playing and crawls over to the edge. He looks over and then throws himself off to his death. It's the feel good story of the year. Trust me, I fought hard to keep the handicapped from killing themselves in my video. In the end they did agree to film two different endings to appease me, but we all know what's going to happen. Phone rigs, 'Hey Rich, MTV loves the amputee suicide ending, so we're gonna go with that one.'

"How a band can go from wearing spandex and wigs to killing off the handicapped in two short years makes me wonder if there is hope for humanity. I am well aware of the fact that there is a special place in hell for those of us who f@#k with the handicapped. I only hope that when I leave this Earth, that there is a Post-It note at the Pearly Gates reminding interested parties that I thought it was a bad idea.

"On the upside, the video is going to be a work of art and filming it was mucho (that's Spanish) fun. All the scenes involving the band were shot on the roof of a building in downtown San Diego. Those of you who have never been to San Diego should drop what you're doing and go NOW! It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and even the ridiculous cost of living is well worth it; even if just for the weather. So, obviously, hanging out all day on top of a skyscraper, overlooking the ocean in the beautiful southern California sunshine made a great day even better. In addition, the cast and crew were complete professionals and a pleasure to work with making it one of the best video/film shoots that I have ever been a part of."

"Enemy" is the first single off the group's third album, "All That Remains", available now on SPV Records. The CD was produced by Rick Beato (Shinedown, Charlie Mars, Ingram Hill) and features guest performances by guitar legends Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society), Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth), and Mark Tremonti (Creed, Alter Bridge). Gold-record-selling rap artist Bone Crusher also makes a special guest appearance on the record.

More Info On Damageplan Nightclub Shooting

Scoop of the Columbus, Ohio radio station The Blitz 99.7 FM has confirmed to Blabbermouth.net that Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul was uninjured in the shooting incident at a Columbus nightclub which resulted in the death of Paul's brother, Dimebag Darrell. According to Scoop, who attended the concert and briefly saw Vinnie following the incident, Paul was in a complete state of shock and expressed his desire to be with his brother right after the shooting occurred.

A friend of Scoop's, Kevin Minerd, who also attended the concert, told Blabbermouth.net that the gunman entered the stage from the left side and walked over to the right side where Dimebag was standing before grabbing the guitarist and pumping several bullets into him. Additional shots were fired, although it's presently unclear which other member of Damageplan, if any, was killed in the incident.

"A Columbus police officer, when he arrived, engaged the shooter, and the shooter is also dead, and if the officer hadn't acted when he did and how he did, we'd probably be looking at more dead, because this guy was actively shooting," Sergeant Brent Mull, public information officer, told MTV News.

"We have 200-plus patrons that we have sequestered inside three city buses," Sergeant Mull explained. "We are interviewing them one by one. The ones that were inside and witnessed this, ran for their lives and were in fear for their lives. They are victims too, and we want to take care of them."

As news of Dimebag's (born Darrell Lance Abbott in Dallas, Texas on August 20, 1966) bizarre and tragic demise rippled through the metal community, the news was met with shock and sadness.

"I'm speechless," friend and Rob Zombie/Ozzy Osbourne bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson told MTV. "This is totally unreal. Dimebag is a fucking legend and this is total bullshit."

"This is insane and this is beyond travesty," Killswitch Engage frontman, and former Damageplan tour partner, Howard Jones said. "This is beyond anything I've ever heard. This shouldn't happen in or outside of the rock and metal community. He will be missed and mourned as a person, as a musician, and as a friend."

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, whose band has toured with Pantera and has featured Dimebag guest appearances on their albums, stated in a posting on Anthrax's web site, "I am devastated as I'm sure we all are. All I can convey at this moment are my condolences to Rita and Vinnie and the whole family. My heart is with you."

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx offered the following: "Dime, I will never forget all the times you made us laugh. I'm so happy we got to spend the day together in London recently… We should all live our lives as full as you have. I will miss you, as will all of us... This is a sad day."

Rich Ward (Fozzy, Stuck Mojo): "Darrell was as nice as they come. During the times that I spent with him, I wondered why he played in such a heavy band. Not that he didn't have the ability to school all of us that dared to share a stage with him, but because he seemed like such a gentle and kind man. He had a great sense of humor and was someone that everyone in the room gravitated toward. He never carried himself like the big rock star that he really was, instead he came across humble and appreciative. I consider it a privilege to have known him, as he was one of the 'real' guys in the business and as Zakk [Wylde] would say, 'one of the boys'!"

Shaun Glass (Soil): "Today I am saddened to say I lost my friend and hero it sickens me that someone would take away a person that brought so much joy to so many people. Love ya, Double D."

Jon Dette (ex-Slayer, Testament): "My brother just called to tell me that Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed on stage tonight. Words cannot express the sadness I'm feeling right now and my condolences go out to Vinnie Paul and the Abbott family for their loss. This is a huge tragedy for the music world."

Orange County, California-based sextet Bleed The Sky (recently signed to Nuclear Blast Records): "It's a sad day in heavy metal, Dimebag Darrell formerly of Pantera, was shot and killed while performing with Damageplan in Ohio. We would more than likely not be a band if it wasn't for him, and can't possibly imagine the pain that his brother and his family must be in. RIP, brother, heavy music will never be the same without you."

Fozzy Guitarist Departs

Fozzy guitarist Ryan "The Kidd" Mallam has officially departed from the band, according to this posting from the band's official website:

We're sad to announce that Ryan "The Kidd" Mallam has officially let the band know that he will be leaving the band to pursue a full time position as a university swimming coach. The touring duties required by the band, especially in light of the forthcoming release, would not be compatible with his chosen occupation. He will be sorely missed and we wish him the best in his career.

In regards to his replacement the band will soon be accepting submissions from interested players who meet the unique requirements of the band and its live performance schedule. The details of the position will be made available here in the very near future.

Again, we're very sorry to lose such a fantastic player (as you'll hear on the new disc!) and a cool guy. There will always be just one Kidd!
