Rammstein To Release New Album In April

German industrial metal/Neue Deutsche Härte legends Rammstein has announced that they will be releasing their eighth studio album, "Zeit" on April 29th. In anticipation of the release, the band has premiered a music video for the title track for the album, which can be seen below. More details about the album will follow soon, but the cover art has also been revealed, which is a photograph shot by Canadian rock star Bryan Adams, depicting the band stood at the Trudelturm in Berlin Adlershof, an imposing monument to aerial research in the city’s Aerodynamic Park. Rammstein Finishes Recording New Album

In a recent interview with German publication motor.de, Rammstein keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz claimed that the band has recorded a brand new album. There was some surprise in October of last year when the band revealed that they were in a studio in France, as the previous, untitled album was rumoured by many to be their last. In the interview, Flake stated:

"The fact that we couldn't perform live (due to the pandemic) increased our creativity. We had more time to think of new things and less distraction. As a result, we recorded a record that we hadn't planned on."

Rammstein Singer Reportedly In Critical Condition

According to German newspaper Bild and Russia Today, Rammstein frontman Till Linemann is in critical condition in a Berlin hospital, after complaining of a fever after a solo concert in the Russian capital. The vocalist was tested for the COVID-19 virus as well as pneumonia and is now being kept in quarantine. It is said that at one stage he was in life threatening condition, but is now beginning to show signs of recovery.

The vocalist had been performing shows in Moscow to reduced crowds, owing to the Russian government's ban on gathering of over 5000 people. The fifty seven year old German's representatives have yet to issue a statement. More information will be revealed as soon as it becomes available. More...

Rammstein Reveals New Album Details

German industrial metal/Neue Deutsche Härte legends Rammstein has revealed that they will be releasing their new, self-titled studio album on May 17th through UME/Spinefarm in Europe and Caroline Records in North America. The band has also posted a new music video online for the song, "Deutschland," which can be seen below.

The video clocks in at over nine minutes and shows the band throughout a number of periods in German history, beginning in 16 AD and leading up to the atrocities the Nazi government committed. The video has already received complaints from Jewish groups for the latter depiction, as well as the Israeli government, who have accused the band of exploiting the holocaust for promotional purposes. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon tweeted: "This Rammstein clip, using the Holocaust for advertisement purposes, is shameful and uncalled for. We join the many voices calling for its immediate removal."

German officials have also expressed concern and criticism over the band and the video, with politician and war memorial manager Karl Freller inviting the band to visit the Dachau concentration camp and stating: "The suffering and inhumanity of the holocaust shouldn't be used for advertising purposes or gimmickry to promote a product, regardless of what it is."
