Kataklysm has posted the following brief message online about member Maurizio Iacono (Kataklysm, Ex Deo) getting married:

Bloodstock Adds More Bands To Festival Lineup

The organizers of the Bloodstock festival have checked in with the following announcement about confirming more bands for this year's edition:

"Here at Bloodstock HQ we are excited to announce a whole batch of new additions for all three stages. There’s only seven weeks left to the most metal weekend of the year!! Have you got your tickets yet?!

"Opening Friday’s main stage, and fresh off the back of the release of ‘IV’, their first album in ten years, are British post metallers, Earthzone 9. The band are stoked to find their way to Catton Park’s hallowed ground, commenting 'Earthtone 9 have never played Bloodstock, so we could not be more excited! It's one of our only gigs this year, so we are truly going to make the most of it. There may well be some drinking!' The organisers of Britain's, Bloodstock Open Air festival have announced a further ten bands for this year's edition of the event, including Bay Area thrash metal legends Exodus and Death Angel, as well as 3 Inches Of Blood, Scar Symmetry, Dying Fetus, Xerath, Bloodbound, Vanderbuyst, Scarab and The Prophecy. The event will take place at Catton Park from August 8 - 11th and will be headlined by Slayer, King Diamond and Lamb of God.

Ex Deo Posts New Music Video

Canadian symphonic death metal act Ex Deo, featuring Kataklysm vocalist Maurizio Iacono, posted a new music video for the track "The Tiberius Cliff (Exile To Capri)." The track is taken from the band's latest LP "Caligvla" (see Metal Underground.com's review at this location). The video was directed by Tommy Jones.

Slayer To Headline Bloodstock 2013

American thrash metal legends Slayer has been confirmed as the third and final headliner for next year's edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival in Derbyshire, England. The event will take place at Catton Park from August 8 - 11th and will also be headlined by King Diamond and Lamb of God. A statement from Slayer guitarist Kerry King reads: "Can't wait to hit the stage at Bloodstock! Metal Festival in England? Fuck yes!! It's going to be hell on earth and I'm looking forward to having a party with all my British friends."

The organisers of the festival added: "We are thrilled to announce that seminal thrash metal legends, SLAYER are confirmed as the third and final headliner for Bloodstock 2013. The Californian four-piece will close the Ronnie James Dio stage on Sunday night at Catton Park, bringing their face-melting, monster riffs to the metal hordes."

Ex Deo Comments On Upcoming Tour

After the release of sophomore album "Caligvla" (reviewed here) through Napalm Records, epic death metallers Ex Deo will be touring across North America next month.

Led by indomitable Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono, Ex Deo will be joined on this 13-date tour by headliners Septicflesh as well as veterans Krisiun, Melechesh, and Inquisition. Dates for the "Conquerors of the World" tour are available below.

Ex Deo Comments On New Music Video

Ex Deo recently released a music video for "I, Caligvla" taken off the new "Caligvla" album (reviewed here. Front man Maurizio Iacono has now issued the following answers to fan questions about the clip:

"Thanks for the great comments on the video so far, it has a very strong first day presence , you guys rule!..we aimed at a vintage looking video with authentic underlying of actual events versus a more CGI like environment that we did int he past, we did our best to capture the essence of the times, wich we did, to answer a few questions that i have received about the video and touring heres the answers...

"Why does the emperor looks so young?

"A: because Emperor Caligvla was in his 20's when he ruled , was young and ruthless, people should read up on him and see that we came extremely close to his looks.. a complete reproduction is impossible, unless you wanna give us 150,000$ to do it in Los angeles ;)

Septicflesh Announces North American Tour

Greek demons Septicflesh have announced North American shows this coming October. The "Conquerors of the World" tour will see Septicflesh share the stage with fellow label mates Inquisition, as well as Krisiun, Melechesh, and Ex Deo.

Ex Deo Issues New Album Update

Napalm Records has issued the following statement about the upcoming new "Caligvla" album from Roman themed metal act Ex Deo:

"The booklet for the new album 'CALIGVLA' will feature commentaries and descriptions from frontman Maurizio Iacono with his views on each song. The limited first pressing will be released as a 6 panel digipack featuring the bonus track 'Burned to serve as Nocturnal Light,' a song dealing with Caligvlas madman rival emperor Nero.

"In addition, catch EX DEO/KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono's girlfriend and Colombian model Suzzy in the upcoming video 'I , Caligvla.' Shooting commences June 22 in Philadelphia, where Caligvla's twisted dominion will come to life again.

Ex Deo To Shoot New Music Video

Maurizio Iacono has checked in with the following announcement about Ex Deo shooting a new music video for the title track off the band's new album:

"Ex Deo will shoot the video clip for the title track 'I , Caligvla' on June 23rd with American director Tommy Jones in Philadelphia. We promise a spectacle like you've never seen before.

"After much debate, we decided to go with a realistic film like video with no CGI this time, and we will recreate Caligvla's dominion. It will be memorable to say the least..."
