Fit For An Autopsy just debuted a brand new music video for "Heads Will Hang." Directed by Max Moore, this is the first music video the band has released from upcoming new release "The Great Collapse," due out March 17th, 2017 via Entertainment One (eOne) / Good Fight Music in North America and SPV overseas.
Founding guitarist / producer Will Putney comments, "The concept behind the song/video was to set a scenario in America where a normal happy family was placed in a similar extreme situation, in the hope that it creates a certain feeling of empathy for what less fortunate nations are experiencing right now. And to shed some light on just how close we are to the same tragedies hitting our homes.
"People in the United States always seems to form these really strong opinions about war, refugees, and other crisis situations in third world nations without really having the perspective of what's actually happening there. Everyone's guilty of it to some extent; a lot of us live very privileged lives in comparison to other pockets of the world, where the basic comforts like clean water, power, shelter, and safety are not guaranteed." I took the Metra to the CTA Blue Line since I didn't want to pay for both gas and city parking. Besides, mass transit probably caused more damage to my hearing over the years that heavy metal ever did. On the way down to the city, the train conductor asked if I was in high school as he was offering student discounts and I looked like I could be a teenager. I'm 28. That's the downside of shaving my beard off every spring and staying clean shaven all the way through the summer until late autumn. With it, I look 16. Without it I look 45. I simply cannot win.
The venue is located in Wicker Park, which is the Hipster capital of Chicago thanks in no small part to the Subterranean being located right next to the Double Door. If there was any further proof that the hipster generation is a bunch of aging fossils, the Subterranean had a flier for an upcoming nu metal DJ night with a picture of Fred Durst. When your generation is old enough to get nostalgic and start looking backwards instead of to the future, they're officially as pathetic as retired hippies still pining away for the 60s. More...

Fit For An Autopsy's Will Putney noted, "After listening to more music, and expanding our palette, we realized we are capable of making a more interesting metal record. We saw lots of bands doing the same thing over and over. We thought, 'We can expand on all of this in a way that is unique to us,' so we approached the new album with that mentality, to break the mold of what we saw and heard, and to go outside of the limits of our genre."
Guitarist Pat Sheridan concurred, saying, "From the first album 'The Process of Human Extermination' to 'Hellbound,' there is a big change in the feel, the tone, the songwriting and the ability to write a song. 'Hellbound' was great, but we want to grow musically as a band. When you start touring and seeing what other bands were doing and being introduced to new things, you realize you are supposed to write a new record that is totally different." More...

Fit For An Autopsy is also putting the finishing touches on an all new, yet-to-be titled LP due out later this year. "The new album is a bit of a step in a new direction for the band," says guitarist Pat Sheridan. "It feels really intense."
The band will set up camp at The Machine Shop in New Jersey with guitar player and renowned producer Will Putney at the helm. The new effort will be the follow "Hellbound," released in 2013. The biggest change since then has been the band's vocalist: after the departure of Nate Johnson earlier last year, Greg Wilburn (Oblige) briefly filled in so the band could carry out touring plans. Just before the band entered The Machine Shop, Fit For An Autopsy brought in Joe Badolato (Diamond Cutter) as the brand new full-time vocalist.
"We found Joe at a perfect time," says guitarist Will Putney. "We had just come off months of touring with a vocalist we knew wasn't built to handle the lifestyle and stresses that come with being in a full-time band." Badolato's first show with the band was at The Brooklyn Asylum in Brooklyn, NY. More...
The New Jersey metal heavyweights from Fit For An Autopsy have wrapped up production on a yet-to-be titled LP due out later this year via eOne Music / Good Fight Music.
"The new album is a bit of a step in a new direction for the band," says guitarist Pat Sheridan. "You'll hear a lot of new influences in our sound and a real creative move towards other genres we have never experimented with until now. It's dark, sad and aggressive all at once and we're really happy with the vibe. It's also a very literal and real record and in more of a first person view of the world than we've ever done, and it feels really intense."

The biggest change since then has been the band's vocalist. After the departure of Nate Johnson earlier last year, Greg Wilburn (Oblige) briefly filled in so the band could carry out touring plans. Just before the band entered The Machine Shop, Joe Badolato (Diamond Cutter) was brought in as the brand new full-time vocalist.
"We found Joe at a perfect time," says guitarist Will Putney. "We had just come off months of touring with a vocalist we knew wasn't built to handle the lifestyle and stresses that come with being in a full-time band."
Badolato's first show with the band was at The Brooklyn Asylum in Brooklyn, NY before gearing up to head out west to start a tour supporting Suicide Silence alongside label-mates Within The Ruins.
Putney concludes, "Joe is an extremely humble and down to earth dude and is a killer singer. Bringing him into Fit For An Autopsy has elevated the band to a really cool creative spot, and we're excited about the future with him as our frontman."
Havok vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez has broken his wrist and the band will be forced to miss several dates on the current tour with Crowbar, Revocation, Fit For An Autopsy and Armed for Apocalypse.
The band will rejoin the tour in California in early October with Revocation's Dan Gargiulo will be filling on guitar while Sanchez returns on vocals.
Here's more in Sanchez's own words:
While hiking in Boulder, Colorado, I took a pretty nasty fall and ended up shattering my left wrist. Since I'm currently unable to play guitar, our friend Dan Gargiulo from Revocation has offered his 6-string services and will be laying down the riffage for the rest of our stint in the USA. I will still be doing vocals on the remainder of the upcoming shows and I cannot wait to get back on the road!
I'd like to apologize to anyone that was looking forward to seeing HAVOK in these coming days. We will definitely make it up to you. In times like these, one must remember the ancient American proverb, "Shit happens." See you on the road!!
One last thing! Here is some good news for a change. Pete's mom is making a full recovery from her recent accident and that means Pete Webber will be back behind the kit rejoining the tour in California. We want to thank Marshall Wieczorek from Wretched for stepping in on drums and doing an awesome job on such short notice.
