Weekend Nachos has issued the following update about the band's upcoming activity:
"It's been a while since we told everybody what was going on with us, so I figured I'd make a post. Facebook is not really my thing. We will be recording the 'Black Earth' 7" for A389 in a few weeks. this will feature 3 brand new songs, 2 off of our upcoming LP on Deep Six, and 1 exclusive B-side. in addition to those 3 new songs, the 4th song will be a re-recorded classic that we play at every single show but has still not been seen on an actual W.N. release until now. true Nacho enthusiasts can probably figure out which jam we're talking about. We really wanted to produce a heavier, updated version of the song and make it more recognizable for future live shows by putting it on an actual 7"....so there it shall be. Stoked.
"As mentioned earlier, we do have another full-length coming out in 2011. Like our last LP, Deep Six will be releasing the vinyl and Relapse will be handling the CD/digital version. We are still excited to work with both labels, because both are great in different ways and we love being able to share the love. There is no title for this record yet but you'll like it.
"As some of you know, we went to Europe in October for 3 1/2 weeks. I just wanted to state publicly that the tour was a big success and we had an amazing time. The whole experience changed my life and I can't wait to continue traveling with WN outside of the U.S., and hopefully back to some of the same places we went to on this first European tour. Thanks to anybody who came out...we really could not have asked for a better experience. Til next time! More...
Chicago's Weekend Nachos has issued the following update about releasing a new album:
"Yo, we have a new record coming out in a few months. As always, expect something different. Don't ask about pressing info because I will not respond. A rough preview recording will be coming soon. You'll be able to order the record directly from us whenever it comes out."
Samples of Weekend Nachos' music are also available for streaming at their MySpace page.
Weekend Nachos has issued a full tour blog of the dates on their west coast tour. Excerpts from the blog follow:
"Hey everybody…this is a blog i decided to type up featuring thoughts and memories from our West Coast tour that we just got home from. It's long...and opinionated at times...and overall very positive and thankful, so if you're not into those things, simply don't read it!!! no one's forcing you to, you know? otherwise, enjoy.
"CHICAGO, IL... This was our tour kick-off show at the Albion House and I booked it. To be honest, I didn’t really stress too much about promoting this one. It was all local bands and I figured even if 40 or 50 people showed up, it’d still be fun. That being said, the turnout was mind-blowing. I think 125 paid, which for a basement show is fucking PACKED. Chicago has a bad-ass scene right now, there is a lot of local support at all times, which is proven when a show that wasn’t even promoted that well can draw over 100 kids no problem. Razor Fade opened the show and they are my favorite band in Chicago or anywhere else in the country. Like Bats and the Catburglars played too and everybody had a blast. During our set, I got a concussion not even 2 minutes in and somehow managed to ignore it for the rest of the set due to pure hardcore adrenaline. More...

Chicago-based noise machines, WINTERS IN OSAKA, have completed work on their next full-length. The record, "Molded to Crawl," was recorded over a six-months, which allowed the trio to complete several tours (including a Canadian run with THE ENDLESS BLOCKADE and a Southwestern jaunt with fellow noisenik MYKEL BOYD) and record several other collaborative releases (including one with Spanish goregrind legends MACHETAZO) during that time.
Mixed and mastered by studio member Greg Ratajczak, Molded to Crawl promises to deliver even more of the frightening brilliance found on past WINTERS IN OSAKA records. The album features appearances by: Rich Hoak (BRUTAL TRUTH, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION), Topon Das (FUCK THE FACTS), DEATH AGONIES (aka THE ENDLESS BLOCKADE), Chris Dodge (DESPISE YOU, SPAZZ, EAST WEST BLAST TEST), John Hoffman (WEEKEND NACHOS), and Toney Vast Binder (HARPOON, 7000 DYING RATS). Bolt Thrower has released this bit of news regarding their first trip to the USA in 14 years:
"Due to the fact that we are not real festival lovers or great fans of flying, the chances of us ever coming to the States for a one-off show was always very small. But after years of relentless emails from Ryan we've finally given in. It's hard to believe that it's been 14 years since we last played in the US, so we are very happy to announce that we are finally coming back. Bolt Thrower will be playing Maryland Deathfest VII, on May 22-24, 2009, at Sonar, Baltimore, MD."
A few more bands were exected to be included in this announcement, but the organizers are still working on the details. Therefore, another announcement is expected with even more band confirmations in the near future, as they wrap up the booking process for Maryland Deathfest 2009
Tickets will definitely go on sale on Friday, November 7th.
