Vulture Industries Posts Behind The Scenes Video

Behind-the-scenes documentary footage has been posted online of the Vulture Industries "Turning Golem" collaboration with the Happy Gorilla Dance Company. You can check it out below, and the following press release was also issued about the clip:

"The recent collaboration between Norwegian act Vulture Industries and the Happy Gorilla Dance Company, which resulted in the theatrical performance 'Turning Golem,' has proved to be a considerable crowd-pleaser, so much so, in fact, that the show has been booking into various venues and festivals both this year and next.

"Interest in the show, which is part rooted in the heavier segment of experimental/progressive metal which features Vulture Industries performing music from their latest release 'The Tower,' and part theatre performance which features the Happy Gorilla Dance Company, has grown, and as a result journalist Andrea Chirulescu has produced a behind the scenes documentary which explores the he ideas and concepts behind 'Turning Golem.'

"Featuring interviews with Vulture Industries frontman Bjornar E. Nilsen, who explains how the whole idea came about and how it developed, as well as with the other members of the band – guitarists Oyvind Madsen and Eyvind Huse, bassist Kyrre Teigen and drummer Tor Helge Gjengedal, who talk about the difference between performing as a band as opposed to being part of a performance ensemble, whilst members of the Happy Gorilla Dance Company explain their part in the project.

"The documentary, which is in English, was filmed in Bergen when 'Turning Golem' was recently performed at the Garage, and is currently streaming on the YouTube Channel of the Norwegian webzine Eternal Terror."

Vulture Industries Announces "The Tower" Details

Avant-garde metallers Vulture Industries have named their forthcoming third album "The Tower," due out Season of Mist on September 27th (October 1st in North America). The track listing is as follows:

1. The Tower
2. Divine - Appalling
3. The Hound
4. Blood On The Trail
5. The Dead Won't Mind
6. A Knife Between Us
7. The Pulse of Bliss
8. Sleepwalkers
9. Lost Among Liars

The artwork was designed by Costin Chioreanu, who made the following comment: ”Working on the cover of the new Vulture Industries was more than an interesting experience. The stars aligned and suddenly I discovered the opportunity to create an imagery I had been dreaming about for years. ‘The Tower’ is a very complex, smart and sadly true story to which I could relate, so this great project ended up with more illustrations than originally intended. The theme was so complex and so well put into words and music that I simply could not resist it. Yes, there is a huge influence coming from the German expressionism, but expanded through my own ways of visual expression and improved with some elements specific to the visual and philosophical analysis of society.

"There is surrealism, expressionism, contemporary imagery, and even some ancient graphic visual inputs. All in all, ‘The Tower’ is a beautiful piece of art and I am extremely happy that I had the honor to illustrate it. It might sound "too much", but I think that, in many aspects, ‘The Tower’ is an extremely well done observation of the reality that surrounds us." More...

Virus To Headline European Tour

Details of the “And Now For Something Completely Different Tour,” with a four-band line of experimental/avant-garde bands headed by Virus, have been announced today. Joining the cult Norwegians will be fellow countrymen Vulture Industries and Krakow, along with Mondvolland from the Netherlands. Confirmed dates on the December tour as follows (and anyone interested in booking the two remaining dates should contact bjornar@propulsionmusic.no):

Fri 07 Dec: Willemeen, Arnhem (NL)
Sat 08 Dec: Ferrailleur, Nantes (FR)
Sun 09 Dec: Glazart, Paris (FR)
Mon 10 Dec: Markthalle, Hamburg (DE)
Tue 11 Dec: The Underworld, London (UK)
Wed 12 Dec: TBC
Thu 13 Dec: Orto Bar, Ljubljana (SLO)
Fri 14 Dec: Gaswerk Kulturzentrum, Winterthur (CH)
Sat 15 Dec: TBC

Virus was formed in 2000 by guitarist / singer Carl-Michael “Czral” Eide (Aura Noir, Ulver, Satyricon, etc.) along with bass player Petter “Plenum” Berntsen (Audiopain) and drummer Einar “Einz” Sjursø (Lamented Souls, Beyond Dawn), with the intention of taking key elements of Czral’s former avant-garde black metal band Ved Buens Ende further into weirdness and farther from metal. Through three critically acclaimed album releases Czral’s unique dissonant guitar flavour and song writing has fascinated, puzzled, and ensnared listeners worldwide, not least thanks to the live performances (as a 5-piece) the band have undertaken since early 2011, including Sonisphere, Brutal Assault, Hole In The Sky, Aurora Infernalis etc.

Virus is also set to release a mini album to coincide with the tour. Titled “Oblivion Clock,” the album runs at over thirty minutes and features four new track and three bonus tracks that until now have only been available on extremely limited releases. At the same time band will also be releasing a new vinyl edition of sophomore album “The Black Flux.” “Oblivion Clock” will be available as a digifile CD on the tour, and is also already available to pre-order from this location along with the “Black Flux” vinyl. HELHEIM recently caused a sensation in Norway when it launched its "Kaoskult" album in front of an audience of young children in a kindergarten.
