Liverpool-based crossover outfit SSS (Short Sharp Shock) has revealed a track from the band's new 7-inch release and Prosthetic debut “Manipulated Living.” Listen to "Beige" in the player below, courtesy of Metal Hammer.
Released concurrently with holiday Bonfire Night, SSS vocalist Foxy added, ”The 5th of November, ‘Bonfire Night,’ in the UK has historically been a day of dissent. The release date for ‘Manipulated Living’ on this national day of civil disobedience is apt. Instead of swallowing a diet of low-grade universal deceit, choke down some ‘Beige’ instead. It’s packed chock-full of grind and hardcore nutrition, with a mosh-heavy aftertaste to wake you up. Express yourself to the fullest extent in a nonviolent peaceful manner on this day – light the blue touch paper and stand well back.” More...
British crossover thrashers SSS are due to kick off a mini tour tonight - Wednesday, October 10th - in Bristol, UK.
The "Overgrown" tour will see the band performing a string of shows in the UK, Belgium, and Netherlands, including a performance at Bloodshed Fest in Eindhoven on October 13th. SSS frontman Foxy comments:
"We have been underground writing new music. It's finally time to crack the crust from our eyes and get out and play it. We only like to tour when it's worthwhile. So a slew of new concrete skateparks, hectic European festivals and touring with Negative Approach are more than good enough reasons."
SSS bassist Mark Magill adds: "Can't wait to get out on tour this week. A few shows on our own, then hitting the mighty Bloodshed fest to catch up with mates old and new, and finishing off with a run playing with Negative Approach. Perfect. The thing I'm most looking forward to is Glasgow - deep fried black pudding. It's been too long."

British crossover thrashers SSS are due to be featured in an episode of a new music series called "No Sleep Till," brought to you by Vice and Vans.
No Sleep Till offers a candid, fly-on-the-wall view of life on tour, through the eyes of four of the most explosive bands on the circuit. The series follows SSS, Cerebral Ballzy, The Bronx, and Trash Talk or 24 hours each, giving fans an inside view of the guys behind the bands, the music they've dedicated their lives to making, and the fun, carnage and chaos involved in being a band on tour.
SSS bassist MARK MAGILL comments: "Vice Magazine and Vans asked us if they could follow us around for a day. We said yes, they pointed their cameras at us and we wished we lived a life of rock 'n' roll excess, so that we'd be more interesting to watch than the normal people we actually are. We discovered that we're pretty good at clay pigeon shooting and North Wales is very depressing in December. We didn't win at bingo, either."
Keep an eye out for the episode featuring SSS on March 14th. Watch the No Sleep Till trailer at this location.

The new lads, Stu and Dave, are eager to get out on the road and we are all counting down the days. We will hit 11 countries this time around. We can expect the unexpected as we're taking this tour back down to a DIY level, which we think best suits the band's outlook. See you all very soon..."

British crossover thrashers SSS, which recently released "Problems to the Answer" (reviewed here), has announced the addition of two new members to the band.
Joining the group are Stu Taylor (guitar) and Dave Archer (drums), who both also play in Liverpool-based stoner metal act The Bendal Interlude,, and who replace outgoing members Pete Broom and Dave Fergusson. View a photo of the new line-up at this location.
New SSS guitarist Stu Taylor comments: "To have joined SSS is great. Having been in a band with Foxy before, we are used to each other's working methods. Mark is an experienced bass player and we immediately gelled as a band. Gonna be good times to come - new songs, new tours, new experiences. We can't wait."
SSS frontman FOXY adds: "The untimely departure of two members of SSS prior to the release of 'Problems to the Answer' was unfortunate. However, in that time we have found a new drummer and guitarist. Stu and Dave are a solid unit. Having been in a band with them before and to have watched them shred Liverpool for years, they were the natural choice. We are made up; they have joined up. With the prospect of touring and writing new material, it's an exciting time for SSS and we can't wait to get out and finally play again."
SSS has the following upcoming shows:
Sep. 07 - Manchester, UK - Star & Garter (w/ CANNABIS CORPSE)
Sep. 23 - Nottingham, UK - MG Ballroom (w/ GAMA BOMB, ONSLAUGHT)

British crossover thrashers SSS have revealed that Napalm Death frontman Barney Greenway will appear as a guest vocalist on the band's forthcoming new album, titled "Problems to the Answer."
Greenway performs guest vocals on the tracks "The Kill Floor," "Here Comes The Neighbourhood," and "Roar." The new album "Problems to the Answer" is due to be released in Europe on June 6th and in North America on July 12th.
Barney Greenway comments on his guest appearance: "Foxy really knows his musical onions and when he had some parts for me to do, I knew it was going to be a gas. The main part had a Discharge-y feel to it, so I was sold on that instantly. Went in, shouted, went home. No fucking about. Good stuff."
SSS frontman Foxy also added, "Barney was on a shortlist of one - it was him or no one. Knew he'd be into the direction of our latest musical outing and the stance the songs take were right up his street. Some serious barking was required and his dulcet tones didn't disappoint." More...
British crossover thrashers SSS recently finished recording their forthcoming new album, which is due to be released later this year on Earache Records.
The new album, titled "Problems to the Answer," was recorded at Whitewood Studios in the band's home town of Liverpool and is produced by Rob Whitely along with SSS bassist Mark Magill.
SSS frontman Foxy explains the title of the new album:
"The title Problems to the Answer gives outspoken practical solutions to problems faced in everyday life. External factors shape not only today, but yesterday and into tomorrow. SSS attempts to provide answers - for better or worse - in our most vicious recording to date."
SSS have been documenting the creation of the new album as it happens. Check out the updates and photos from the recording of the album at the band's official blog at this location.
Just For Fun
Another Christmas is just around the corner, which means jolly fat men in red suits scaring the bejeesus out of crying children and uncomfortable dinners with family members who don't actually like each other. Christmas isn't just caroling and spiked egg nog though, it's also another opportunity to rock out with some metal steeped in the holiday spirit. We already gave Christmas the metal treatment with a list of the top 10 most metal light shows, as well a new edition of the Rockstar Ramblings describing what aging rockers really want to get under the tree. Slipknot front man Corey Taylor also recently posted a Christmas music video here. To keep December heavy, we've also rounded up a list of the 2010 Christmas and Anti-Christmas rock and metal songs available online.
First off is the 2010 edition of the Misantrof AntiRecords "Holy Fucking AntiChristmas" compilation, which features 15 punk, instrumental, and metal tracks tearing the most commercial holiday of the year a new one.
