The Dillinger Escape Plan will release upcoming new album "One of Us is the Killer" this coming May, 2013.
"One of Us is the Killer" is set to be released by Sumerian Records (Animals As Leaders, The Faceless, Periphery) in North America through the Dillinger Escape Plan's own Party Smasher Inc. imprint. Party Smasher's partnership with BMG covers the rest of the world, including licensing deals with Grind House (Helmet, Cancer Bats, Funeral For A Friend) for Japan and Remote Control (Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, MIA) in Australia.
The new Dillinger Escape Plan album was recorded in Southern California with longtime producer Steve Evetts (Glassjaw, The Cure, Suicide Silence), with additional production at guitarist/co-founder Ben Weinman's studio. Mastering will be handled by Tom Baker (Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys). The following press release was issued about the album:
"The album represents a new holistic pinnacle of the band's constantly evolving and engaging dynamics. The band will launch worldwide tours in 2013, beginning with a handful of headlining dates that have just been released.
"Dillinger's mind-bending meld of metal, rock, experimental ambience and melody first reared its head with a 6 track EP on hardcore indie Now Or Never Records, quickly followed by Under the Running Board on Relapse. The band earned a reputation as a fearless act on the live stage, committing their minds, bodies and spirits to the exhibition and visceral release of performance and often brutalizing stages, gear and themselves along the way. Calculating Infinity became the gold standard for the emerging 'math-core'/'math-metal' movement, earning a place in author Martin Popoff's "Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time." Kerrang! included the album in the '100 Best Rock Albums of All Time' and presented the band with their Spirit of Independence Award. More...

The latest round of bands confirmed to storm the stage at New England Metal and Hardcore Festival XV has today been announced. The fresh additions to the brutal three-day event include Alleageon, Alpha & Omega, Born Low, MurderDeathKill and Dark Sermon, as well as Baltimore hardcore squad Trapped Under Ice and New Jersey’s renowned explosive tech metal practitioners The Dillinger Escape Plan.
A tour based around the fest has also been created by MassConcerts, something they’ve done for the past four years. Dubbed Mission Quest to Metal Fest, the trek was formed in order to help a few of the bands get to and from NEMHF this year. This year the tour unifies Expire, Alpha & Omega, Power Trip, Twitching Tongues, and Antagonist A.D. on a ten-date assault leading up to their individual performances at the festival.
Stated promoter Scott Lee on the formation of this built-in tour: “We are really proud of this year’s lineup, and to bring these bands together leading up to it. The tour includes Expire who played last year, California powerhouse Alpha & Omega, Power Trip who is an up-and-coming hardcore band from Texas, and Twitching Tongues. We're also very excited to have Antagonist A.D. from New Zealand; they are the band coming from the farthest away for the fest. Pretty happy to have them; we love putting foreign bands on the bill!” More...

The sixth annual California Metalfest will be held at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA on Saturday, November 24th. Ash Avildsen, founder of California Metalfest had this to say: "Alive or Just Breathing is one of the most important and timeless albums for this era of heavy music. KsE's special headlining set combined with the rest of the line-up is going to make for an incredible day of metal and memories. Having all these bands in the same place on one day is really exciting both as a fan and as a festival producer."

"Wow this tour is really good. Red Fang are killing it and Mastodon is better than ever. It’s only been a week and a half and we already have had so many tour highlights. Rocking with Patton in San Fran was obviously one of them. Check out this video for a glimpse of that.
"Hanging out with our old friend Jello Biafra was stimulating as usual. We must have sat in our back lounge with our driver Tal for 2 hours at least talking about Wesley Willis. For those of you who don’t know who that is please educate yourself. Before becoming our baby sitter, Tal handled Wesley until his unfortunate death from leukemia in 2003. Jello released all his music on his label Alternative Tentacles. I have his bowling ball. The finger holes are so big I can probably fit my entire hand in one of them but it’s still an honor to possess it.
"It was also great meeting up with the Cavalera boys. We all hope to see Greg’s project with Max surface someday soon. We will surely keep you updated. More...
