Mourning Beloveth Part Ways With Bassist

Irish doom titans MOURNING BELOVETH have parted ways with bassist Adrian Butler. Adrian's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"I am no longer part of the doom troupe that are MOURNING BELOVETH. I was talking to Darren [Moore, vocals] last weekend and the band are going to continue with current session bassist Brendan Roche and make him a permanent member of MB. I moved to Spain in Oct '05 and the fact of not being able to be present for weekly practice has been very tough and impossible for us to keep up the long distance relationship so to speak. I've been leaving since last year in a way but making this final decision is tough but better off for both parties. I can say though that it's been a fabulous 10 years with MB. We've toured America, Europe a few times and recorded three great albums. We also played our first open air festivals this year so I am more than happy with what I was involved in and pleased to have been able to play a part in advancing the bands career since 1996 when I recorded their first demo with Alan from PRIMORDIAL. I will be helping out the band in the future in another capacity too so I won't be going away. My friends in MB will always remain so and we'll continue to insult each other, get drunk, fall down and have a laugh whenever its possible to get together. More...

Brutal Assault Festival Lineup Nearly Complete

The 11th edition of the Brutal Assault festival is scheduled for August 10th - 12th in Svojsice U Prelouce (100 km east of Prague), Czech Republic.

Organizers have issued the following update:

This year’s event promises more impressive expansion and confirms that the organizers don’t intend to stagnate. On the contrary, from year to year, the festival’s program is more and more various and promises more and more foreign metal crowd-pullers for the fans of promiscuous extreme genres. Thanks to the participation of many first-rate metal bands, this event aspires to become a major metal festival in central Europe.

It’s difficult to say which band can be branded as the headliner because this year’s lineup offers up several giants of the metal genre.

Great attraction, especially for fans of atmospheric or symphonic black metal are Norwegians black metal gurus DIMMU BORGIR. In their case we can look for a frosty and dark concert experience.

The next exclusive guest comes from the USA. FEAR FACTORY, who were well known as a representatives of dehumanized cyber metal, but nowadays they come with a new actual face of the year 2006. More...

Mourning Beloveth Issue Update About New Album

Irish doomsters MOURNING BELOVETH have posted the following update at their official website:

"Back from tour with PRIMORDIAL, MOONSORROW, and our label mates GARDENS OF GEHENNAH and it was probably the best tour yet; well organized, well attended and some great reactions. We even got to play Hungary, Vienna and Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig where we hadn't been before and each night we were shouted back for more - even some slow handclapping some nights. Sold out shows in Arnheim and Biebob told the story of the tour really. People appreciating bands who play from the heart and not the usual merry-go-round of touring bands. A tour report and some pictures is pending. Last weekend saw us appear with Primordial again in London, another triumph for Irish Metal as the attendance was close to the 300 mark. A great crowd response and some dodgy singing in the Intrepid fox later made sure we would be remembered. More...

Waylander Stage Mini-Reunion At Day of Darkness

Long-running Celtic metal act WAYLANDER were reunited with former band member and editor of Ireland's Metalworks magazine, Martin MacCormaic, for a memorable set at the fourth installment of Ireland's Day of Darkness festival on July 9. MacCormaic, who left WAYLANDER in 2002, took to the stage to attend to tin-whistle duty as the band performed in front of a frenzied crowd. Also performing at the festival were doom titans MOURNING BELOVETH, whose powerful performance on the day included tracks from the band's recently released third album, "A Murderous Circus". The festival was headlined by black metal legends ROTTING CHRIST. The four-piece celebrated their first-ever performance on Irish soil and delivered a rousing performance that served as a fitting end to the days proceedings.

The full lineup for the one-day event was: ROTTING CHRIST, DESASTER, MOURNING BELOVETH, SCAVENGER, WAYLANDER, CARNUN RISING, PRIMAL DAWN, DEVILMAKESTHREE, WRECK OF THE HESPERUS and GROUND OF RUIN. Photos of the event can be seen at dayofdarkness.com.

Mourning Beloveth Post Samples From New Album

Irish doomsters MOURNING BELOVETH's new album "A Murderous Circus" is to be released by Gnau on March 29th. To listen to some samples, go to the band's official website. Meanwhile, here's the update from the website:

Grau will release the new album on March 29th. Pre orders are being taken for the limited edition double digipack which contains the two extra songs Disintegrate and a re-recording of Part 1. The digipack also contains a live recording from our set in Vera on the DSR tour 2004. Promos have just been sent around to the various magazines and some very positive feedback so far. The album sounds very heavy and dark and is probably the most diverse Mourning Beloveth album to date, as we are sure you have heard from the samples posted recently, however the samples had to be taken down due to the huge increase in traffic to the site. We should have samples of all the albums up very soon including footage from our DSR show in April 2004. Reaction to the new album so far has been very positive form the press. The artwork is complete and looks amazing and we should have some samples up soon. It is very apt for our first release on Grau as grey is the colour that dominates throughout the album and artwork.

Mourning Beloveth Release New Album In March

Irish doomsters MOURNING BELOVETH have posted the following update at their official website:

“Rehearsals are finished for the album and we have still to come up with a name for it. We have six new songs and are going to re-record Part 1 but there is only room for five as they all top the ten minute mark. The album is sounding very dark, sick and heavy so it should be an interesting three weeks in Studio E. Lukasz, the resident Prophecy artist will take care of the album artwork and at this time it is looking like a black and white theme to fit in with the general mood of the music and lyrics.

The album should be out in March next year and an extensive tour to follow.”
