Abysmal Dawn's Charles Elliott has sent in the following update regarding the cancellation of the Dismember and Grave tour that they were scheduled to be part of:
"For whatever reasons our tour with Dismember and Grave has been cancelled. This situation is completely out of our control and we hope that people understand and come out to support us next time. Words cannot express how frustrate we feel at the moment after taking this tour on such short notice. We would like to thank Mike Bear (Artisan) for offering to fill in for Carlos on this tour at the last minute. As many of you know he played bass on "From Ashes" and would have done an amazing job. The first date of the tour will still take place at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on December 1st. The lineup for the night will be Abysmal Dawn, Coffin Texts, Letum Ascensus, Nema and Unsanctified. Tickets are only $8 for the night and if you bought tickets in advance you can come down to the show for either a partial or full refund."
This announcement comes not long after The Absence dropped off the Entombed, Dismember, and Grave tour "because of several unresolved problems" with their booking agent.
ABYSMAL DAWN have been added to the West Coast DISMEMBER/GRAVE tour. Scheduled to kick off their East Coast tour tomorrow, Sept. 30, in Bedford, NH with Dismember, Grave, Demiricous and Withered, Vital Remains was notified yesterday that they were not welcome to perform at the first show. Vital’s guitarist, Tony Lazaro states, “We were scheduled to play with Grave and Dismember up at Mark’s Place in Bedford, NH but the promoter booted us from the show. He said since we are ‘affiliated’ with the ‘evil’ Glen Benton that he wanted nothing to do with us. I guess he had heard what happened at the Deicide show in TX, heard he sang for us on our last record and is gonna sing for us on this next one and was worried that, I don’t know, we’d be sacrificing children of something. We told him that Glen wasn’t even going to be on this tour with us. I think he’s sitting home in FL right now ready to go out on the road with Deicide. The guy didn’t even care. We are guilty by association! We’re sorry to anyone up there who was planning on seeing us. We’ll try and get up there soon, we just need to find a promoter who isn’t afraid of us, and by the way, everyone knows we sacrifice goats on stage, not children. Metal”
Scheduled to record the follow up to 2003’s Dechristianize this winter, Vital Remains has already announced that Glen Benton will be returning to record vocals for the new album. Re-released this spring was the band’s Horrors Of Hell compilation which contains the band’s early demo recordings.
Vital Remains tour dates with Dismember, Grave, Demiricous, Withered: More...
VITAL REMAINS are gearing up to corrupt the Atlantic Seaboard. Heading out with Dismember, Grave, Demiricous and Withered the tour starts in Bedford, NH and ends in Montreal, Canada. Fueling the band’s inferno, the raging line-up will include mainman Tony Lazaro (guitar), Dave Suzuki (guitar), Anthony Geremia (vocals), Necrotorture’s Antonio Donadeo (drums), and Ron Green (bass).
“Just checking in with everyone right before Vital hits the road again,” mainman Lazaro commented yesterday, “Going out with Dismember and Grave is going to be killer! These are two great old school death metal bands that really helped define the Swedish Death Metal sound. A brutal assault; Death Metal the way it was meant to be, fast and heavy!!
“I know people have been wondering about the new record…well, it’s just about 100% written. More importantly, it looks like Mr. Benton is going to be doing vocals for us once again! We were able to work around Deicide’s crazy touring schedule, and we’ll be hitting the studio by the end of the year. We’ll keep you posted on all the info and if you haven’t already, go pick up Deicide’s Stench of Redemption…it’s an amazing record. Hope to see everyone in the underground come out and as always, thanks for the support! LET THE KILLING BEGIN!” -I-ony666
Re-released this spring was the band’s Horrors Of Hell compilation which contains the band’s early demo recordings.

GRAVE guitarist/vocalist Ola Lindgren has commented on the band's recently filmed DVD, Enraptured, which was filmed on August 24th at Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland and will feature rare live footage, video clips and more.
“The Enraptured DVD recording in Warsaw, Poland went very well," Lindgren comments. "Great production crew and organisation from Metal Mind. The crowd was totally into the show and it felt really good to have that kind of response on such an important gig. We shot 16 songs and I can't wait to get the preview version. We have also been digging deep in the Grave archives for bonus material and there is a lot to choose from, so we'll see what ends up in the final release."
Dismember will hit the US for their first tour in years. Beginning September 30, the band will headline alongside Grave, Vital Remains, Demiricous and Withered for an East Coast/Midwest run. The band will then return in December again with Grave and this time also with US labelmates Entombed!

Grave is one of the longest-running Swedish death metal bands, that has created a sound and style which has been an inspiration on a number of the genre's more promising younger outfits. The group's legendary 1991 debut, "Into The Grave", quickly established the quartet as one of death metal's most brutal hopefuls, a title the act has cemented through a decade’s worth of albums and tours with some of the biggest metal bands in the world, including DEATH, CANNIBAL CORPSE and MORBID ANGEL.
GMR Music has set an October 20 release date for the second album from KRUX, the Swedish band featuring CANDLEMASS mainman/bassist Leif Edling, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Mats Levon, ex-ENTOMBED drummer Peter Stjornvind, guitarist Jorgen Sandstrom (also in THE PROJECT HATE, ex-ENTOMBED / GRAVE), and current ARCH ENEMY guitarist Fredrik Akesson. Entitled "II", the CD was recorded at Studioland studio in Upplands Vosby, Sweden.
KRUX released their self-titled debut album in 2002 via Holland's Mascot Records. A live DVD containing the band's entire performance from May 18, 2003 at Kugelbanan in Stockholm, Sweden, plus a promo video for the track "Black Room" and an interview, was issued in 2003.
Swedish death metal legends Grave and German rockers Kingdom Come are the latest additions to the BW&BK 6-Pack Weekend IV - Back For More, which is being held in Montreal, Canada on October 13th and 14th, 2006 at Le Medley.

An edited version of a brand new GRAVE song, entitled "Burn", is available for streaming at this location. The track comes off the legendary Swedish metallers' new album, "As Rapture Comes", due on July 25 via Century Media Records (one day earlier internationally).
Commented vocalist/guitarist Ola Lindgren: "The new album is finally completed. Nine tracks which can only be described as the most aggressive, evil and brutal stuff we have ever created both sound and song-wise. The album was recorded by ourselves at Studio Soulless and the final mix was made in the Abyss Studio with Peter Tägtgren. This one takes GRAVE into a new dimension while still staying true to our legacy of brutal, heavy death metal." More...
Grave, Dismember, and Entombed have decided to team up this November for a European tour.
Grave commented on the tour by saying that the bands will "team up to bring you a night of the best metal Sweden has ever had to offer. The package is an idea that all four bands has planned and prepared in the past months and finally we are doing it. Dates and more info will be announced shortly. Prepare for a night to remember..."
The first date has been leaked for the DISMEMBER, VITAL REMAINS, GRAVE, DEMIRICOUS, and WITHERED East Coast/Midwest tour:
October 1 - New York, NY @ B.B. King Blues Club
DEATHBREATH, the new Swedish old-school death metal project featuring former ENTOMBED drummer and main songwriter Nicke Andersson (currently the frontman of his rock 'n' roll band THE HELLACOPTERS) and vocalist Jorgen Sandstrom (who had previously fronted the Swedish death metallers GRAVE), have uploaded an unmixed preview of a song to be featured on their upcoming debut album, "Heading For Decapitation" on their MySpace page.
DEATHBREATH's current lineup is completed by guitarist Robert Persson (who plays in THE HELLACOPTERS guitarist Robert Dahlqvist's side project THUNDER EXPRESS) and bassist Mange Hedquist.
Speaking to Sweden's Close-Up magazine last fall, Andersson stated about the project, "I haven't written any lyrics yet, but the music is so old-school that people today wouldn't even get that it's old-school. It's more like [DEATH's legendary 1987 debut] 'Scream Bloody Gore'. It's nothing like [ENTOMBED's] 'Wolverine Blues'. That style has already been done so well. At the same time there's only one 'Scream Bloody Gore', so a couple of albums like that I could put together.
"After having read the book 'Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal and Grindcore' and getting a kick, I went out and bought a lot of records. It was so much fun reading the book; it brought back so many memories. I bought POSSESSED's 'Seven Churches' on CD."
Sandstrom had previously played with Andersson in ENTOMBED as the group's bassist; he is also currently singing for THE PROJECT HATE and playing bass for VICIOUS ART.
