Swedish death metal legends Grave will release their 10th studio album "Endless Procession Of Souls" on August 27th in Europe and on August 28th in North America via Century Media Records.
Recorded at Studio Soulless, "Endless Procession Of Souls" promises to be yet another death metal masterpiece in Grave's revered catalog, featuring nine tracks of uncompromising no-bullshit death metal.
In support of this upcoming release, the band will be touring North America with Morbid Angel and Dark Funeral this September/October. In regards to the album and tour, founding member Ola Lindgren (vocals/guitar) comments, "Grave will return to North America in September, sharing the madness with our comrades in Morbid Angel and Dardk Funeral. After the successful 'Into the Grave' sets we did in September last year, it will be very exciting to come back to promote the new album 'Endless Procession of Souls', which will be released August 28th in North America (Aug 27th in Europe) through Century Media Records. This killer bill is in extremo deluxe and will show you what brutality is all about...Beware the Winds of Chains!"
Dark Funeral's Lord Ahriman (guitar) adds, "We are extremely proud to announce our participation in the upcoming Morbid Angel tour throughout North American territories this fall. We will march alongside our Swedish comrades Grave and American death metal-bezerkers Vadimvon, and it is without a doubt that this very tour will surely be remembered as one of the most extreme tours of all time. Hence, we command all our loyal North American metal-demons to come out and celebrate utter darkness every night. It's time to ignite the black flame and show the world that the force of extreme metal is unrelenting." More...
American death metal legends Morbid Angel have announced their first headlining tour of North America in six years, which will be in support of their latest studio album, "Illud Divinum Insanus." Joining them on the trek will be Swedish acts Grave and Dark Funeral, as well as Vadimvon on the East Coast.

Grave recently signed a new worldwide deal with the band's initial home, Century Media Records, and will be releasing a 10th studio album in 2012 through the label.
The band is currently in the legendary Studio Soulless working on the album, and Ola Lindgren has the following update for anxious Grave fans:
"Greetings, y'all! Just a quick update on what's going on in the Grave camp. This past week, we started the process of recording the new album in our own Studio Soulless. It's been going very well and sounds killer already at this early stage with only drums and bass tracks done. Nine new songs plus three special tracks for various releases of the album have been recorded, and I would describe it as a mix of our latest two releases with some more old-school, groovy 'Soulless' parts.
"I'm looking forward to my first ever NAMM show -- hope to meet some of you there! Also worth mentioning is that we are moving the studio to a new location, and from late February onwards, I will be taking on mixing and mastering missions full-time. Any inquiries, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org."
More news about this upcoming release will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
Swedish death legends Grave entered Studio Soulless over this past weekend to begin recording the band's tenth album and first since the 2010 release "Burial Ground." The tentative title of the new album is "Endless Procession Of Souls" and will consist of twelve tracks, nine of which are originals along with three special tracks. The album is scheduled for a mid-2012 release date through Century Media Records.
The album will also feature new guitarist Mika Lagrén (Facebreaker) who replaced Magnus Martinsson after his departure in October 2011.
Ola Lindgren of Swedish act Grave has issued the following announcement about splitting with guitarist Magnus Martinsson and beginning work on a new album:
"So back in dark, cold and rainy Sweden again after a successful North American tour. We had a great time and many great shows. Since we haven't headlined the US since 1996 we didn't know what to expect but i must say that we were pleasantly overwhelmed by the response from our fans. This gave us the kick in the nuts and the motivation to get back over there again in a near future. A huge special thanks to our kickass roadcrew: T-Wayne, T-Bone and The Colonel.
"Right now we're preparing for an epic night of oldschool madness. November 12:th we will play a very special anniversary gig at Club Distortion/Kulturhuset here in Stockholm. The classic Into the Grave album will be run through from 'Deformed' to 'Banished to Live' plus another handful classic tunes. Support acts are the mighty Vicious Art and General Surgery Be there or be square... Link to the event on FB here. More...

Grave guitarist/vocalist Ola Lindgren reported that he has recruited Triptykon drummer Norman Lonhard for his Grey Heavens side project. The update appeared on the Grey Heavens Facebook Page and states:
"Very proud to announce that Norman Lonhard from the mighty Triptykon will be doing drums on the upcoming Grey Heavens recording later this year. I'm superstoked and i'm sure it will be amazing! Stay tuned.."
Century Media Records has issued the following announcement about Grave starting a North American tour at the end of the month:
"As one of the very first Swedish death metal bands, the now classic Grave has inspired countless metal acts to deliver unrelenting death metal to the masses. While others have fallen victim to the latest music trends, they've persevered the metal ages by remaining true to their roots since their humble beginnings in 1988. They truly are the Motorhead of death metal-GRAVE has never broken-up, reunited, or deviated from their same, classic sound! To celebrate the longevity of their career and the 20th anniversary of their debut album, 'Into The Grave,' Grave will be touring North America this August and September."
In regards to the band's upcoming tour, vocalist/guitarist Ola Lindgren comments:
"We are really psyched to get over to the states and Canada again after 5 years of absence. It's great to be back on the Century Media train again and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'Into the Grave' with another visit to North America. During the summer festivals here in Europe, we set out to play the entire first album from start to finish in the order that the songs are on the album. It turned out to be extremely well received from our fans, so we decided to bring the concept on the road for this upcoming tour. Since we are headlining, there will be more material than just the 'Into' album of course. So be there or be square...C y'all!"

Century Media has issued the following announcement about signing a new deal with Grave:
"Following Iced Earth and Borknagar, Century Media Records is proud to welcome back another band under the family's wings: Grave. One of the very first Swedish death metal bands alongside Nihilist, Morbid and Treblinka, the band initially released their first demo in 1986 under the band name Corpse, before they switched to Grave in 1988 and throughout all these years, they haven't changed their style very much, while other companions left the true Death Metal path along the way, to bigger or less success. But it's Grave's longevity and consistency that survived any trend since the late 80's and established them as one of the most important death metal bands now and forever."
Jens Prueter, Head of A&R Century Media Europe, comments on Grave's return: "First time I saw Grave was in May 1992 when my friend Robert Kampf (founder of CM) asked me if I wanted to get tattooed by Vinny Daze (R.I.P.) from Demolition Hammer, who was in town with Massacre and Grave. I went to the show with the intention to get my first tattoo but was blown away by Grave's pure Death Metal blast and ended up being way too drunk to still get inked later that night. I never tried to get tattooed again, but I stuck to Grave and I'm more than glad to welcome back Ola and his 'new' guys to Century Media."
Grave's singer, guitarist, and founding member Ola Lindgren adds: "We are very happy and psyched to announce that we have signed back to our old trusty workhorse Century Media Records! After some while of negotiations and a meeting in Dortmund/Germany the week before we played Death Feast Open air, we finally sealed the new deal. The future plan is to have a new Grave studio album out in 2012 and we will start putting the pieces together for that this fall, after the headlining tour of North America. We are truly looking forward to working together again with some of our old friends as well as all the new staff in the CM offices worldwide!"
Grave originally released the band's debut album "Into The Grave" 20 years ago (August 1991) as the tenth album release of the then young label Century Media. As founding member Ola Lindgren remembers in the "Swedish Death Metal" book by Daniel Ekeroth: "We sent our third demo to just every label there was. A lot of them kept in touch, such as Earache and Peaceville. But Century Media was working faster than any of them, so we just went with them without thinking too much about it. Century Media invited us down to Germany to record that single ('Tremendous Pain'), and it was only after that we started to discuss a deal. It felt amazing for us to go abroad, so in a way they lured us into their roster! But it turned out well."
While Century Media and Grave parted ways after 7 albums with the release of 2006's "As Rapture Comes," the band has launched the two albums "Dominium VIII" (2008) and "Burial Ground" (2010) since. In 2010 the band's 12CD+1DVD box-set "Death Unhallowed" (including all recordings from 1986 - 2006) was released in cooperation with Century Media and the early Corpse / Putrefaction / Grave demos have also most recently been released this year as a deluxe triple vinyl set entitled "Necropsy - The Complete Demo Recordings 1986-1991."

Morbid Angel's new album "Illud Divinum Insanus" will be out in less than a week, and Season of Mist has now asked a series of famous names in the metal what they thought of the influential extreme metal act's new opus. The commentary from the various musicians can be viewed below, or you can check out Metalunderground.com's review here.
"The new Morbid Angel album will cause 3rd World War. After June 7th, the extreme metal scene is never gonna be the same again... And I already can't wait the moment I'll be sitting on my sofa listening to 'Illus Divinum Insanus' while the world burns! Ha!" - Nergal, Behemoth.
"No other band in the entire Extreme Metal genre but Morbid Angel would have ever dared to make 'Illud Divinum Insanus'. There are going to be quite a few unimaginative underground purists who think they know better what kind of album Morbid Angel should or should not be putting out, but with 'Illud Divinum Insanus' Trey and David prove that they answer to no one but themselves. It is an incredibly well written, performed, recorded and produced record." - Karl Sanders, Nile.
"One of the best death metal releases since their last album with Vincent. I'm not too much into the techno bits but I am a dude who will appreciate and respect bands doing new things, progressing... So it's all good. Vincent's vocals of course are still as good as they come. And the riffs are definitely there, Trey always delivers. New drummer is killer too!" - Mikael Akerfeldt, Opeth.
"The ultimate voice of death metal is back, as hellish as ever!" - Mikael Stanne, Dark Tranquillity.
"Glad to see Morbid Angel are back! We had our share of criticism when we first incorporated electronic elements in our sound and we know it takes courage and passion to follow one's own stream of inspiration. This time the guitar work is more impressive than ever and those 11 songs are a real 'tour de force'. With this new album they're not afraid to take the hit from the more conservative audience but that's what it means to be extreme!" - Vorph, Samael
"Innovation, wits and a feral 'no compromise' attitude is what brands the greatest of bands. 'Illud Divinum Insanus' is all that and a leap further! Hail Morbid Angel!" - Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen, Ava Inferi, ex Mayhem. More...

Sweden's Grave has posted a new tour blog online. An excerpt from the road report follows:
"What a crazy party it was yesterday in Demark, Copenhagen! Since we´ll have a few days off pretty much everybody decided to go all in on this party. Ola got a nice birthday cake from the Obituary's - a pigs head with the Danish flag stuffed in its nose and some black candles around the whole creation.
"Two Swedish friends from Finspång also came to hang out with us in Copenhagen. Dennis, who's Mika's personal driver and Robert Karlsson (Facebreaker, Scar Symmetry, Tormented ex. Edge of Sanity) who made a stage dive that nearly cost him his life during our set. After our gig at The Rock there was an after party for the Dansish tattoo convention and apparently all the best tattoo artists in the world were there. It was fun to just sit and drink beer and watch all the freaks rockin on the dancefloor.
"Last Friday we ripped up Oldenburg, Germany and on Saturday we did the same in Aarhus, Demark. It was a festival in Aarhus, also playing were Hail of Bullets, Artillery etc. During the day Trevor from Obituary brought out the grill he had bought the other day, he had also got stakes and meat for everybody on the tour. Terry spiced it up with his own barbaque sauce, 'T-Bone’s Famous.' It was awesome and delicious, he masters the grill just as he masters heavy riffs. We already looking forward to the next time the grill will be brought out."
