Enforcer Signs With Nuclear Blast Records

The Swedish heavy metal blood brothers in Enforcer recently signed a new worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The new album is titled "Death By Fire" and will be released on February 1st, 2013.

Bandleader, vocalist and guitar player Olof Wikstrand comments: "It feels great to finally have finished this long awaited third Enforcer record. Now with Nuclear Blast on board we're gonna make sure to spread it to every corner of this planet. You can expect nothing but the total, self defining Enforcer record."

Nuclear Blast head of A&R, Andy Siry says: "We’ve been following the career of Enforcer since their debut album, because from there on, they formed the spearhead of a new, young generation of traditionally influenced metal. We’re impressed by the bands consequent and authentic appearance, whether on stage, concerning their sound, their image and so on. This reminds of the atmosphere of departure and the rebellion, heavy metal represented at the beginning of the 80’s. Enforcer have got that special something, represent their ideals and they know what they want. We’re looking forward to the upcoming CD and a long successful cooperation.”

Enforcer Splits With Guitarist

Enforcer has announced the departure of guitarist Adam Zaars. Adam checked in with the following statement about leaving the band:

"After 5 years, 2 albums and almost 200 gigs in the band I have decided to tread new paths in life hence leaving Enforcer behind. I made this decision in January and told the band in China, on the way home from a truly memorable visit in South Korea and Japan. A good ending I figured. The decision was inevitable, yet of course a difficult one to make. I would like to thank the rest of the guys in the band for everything we've been through, the trials and the tribulations and the simply good times. I would also like to thank all the people that have helped us through the years. I want to wish Enforcer all the best for the future! 'Before the rise of the World, old curses speak to you now. Before I leave to reach the spiral I will leave you my legacy.'"

Enforcer also commented on upcoming shows:

"All shows and tours will however continue as planned. Even though it is a great loss for the band we must emphasize that this will not affect our future plans of world domination even perceptibly. The band will continue, head on without speed limit as planned without any change of style, musically or stylewise. From now on, Enforcer will continue as a four piece band where Olof will play both guitar and handle the vocal duties. Enforcer would also like to thank Adam for his time in the band and for all his contributions that made Enforcer what we are."

The band also has the an upcoming April tour with Bullet. Details on the tour dates are available at this location.

Enforcer Posts Second Track-By-Track Breakdown

Swedish heavy metal band Enforcer is preparing for the release of the new album "Diamonds," on May 24th in Europe through Earache Records and in the rest of the world on May 25th through Heavy Artillery Records. Front man Olof Wikstrand has now issued the following track-by-track break down of the second half of the album:

"Diamonds: I think it's really important to be consistent with some things and to open the B-side with an instrumental track is one of those things I want to make a trademark. It's built on two parts where we stole the last part from a song that Joseph had in a completely different band years ago. We knew we wanted to use that somewhere on the record. We sat down one day and just decided to make it a song. So we begun with a riff that I intended to use to another part, and we just jammed up the rest to the first part. Cool and spontaneously. The vocals in the end of the song are sang by a friend to us from a local rock band in Stockholm called The Vanjas.

"Live for the Night: Live for the Night is without doubt the fastest song on the album and pretty much a leftover from 'Into the Night'. Even though it's a great song, I figured that it wasn't gonna make it to the 'Into the Night' album as a whole back then so I saved it for later. I also wanted to put the fastest song after the instrumental to keep up that consistency also on this album. The lyrics are about a dark demon that comes up from hell to destroy your life!" More...

Enforcer Posts Partial Track-By-Track Breakdown

Swedish heavy metal act Enforcer is preparing for the release of the new album "Diamonds" on May 24th in Europe through Earache Records and the rest of the world on May 25th through Heavy Artillery Records. Enforcer front man Olof Wikstrand gave the following track-by-track description of the first five songs on the album:

"Midnight Vice: First song of the album, which you already know is available to hear on our MySpace page, summarizes our sound in a very specific way. It's a fast song with a catchy chorus and a very hooky main riff. It's a shuffle song played in a high tempo which makes the song pretty swingy, and actually faster than it actually is. The song is 100% Enforcer and that's why we decided to put it first. The lyrics are about an urge to kill, a possession to murder after midnight.

"Roll the Dice: That is another song that really defines our sound. It is also the first song that we finished with lyrics and everything to this album. It's been a demo version around for quite a while now, and we actually had a hard time making it as good as (or hopefully better than) the demo. This song is actually my favorite of all our songs and my guess is that this track will be the most prominent of the whole album. It's got a great structure and arrangement and the chorus is great. Along with the breakdown and solo part it makes the song a real hit!

"Katana: This song is Adam's work right through. We picked up a few riffs that Adam had used in a band he played in years ago which was called Katana Samurai. It had a few great riffs that we've been speaking about for years to do something with and it turned into this song. We actually had a couple of fights about having such a long and epic song in our repertoire, but it turned out to be a great song that also gave the album a little broader touch. The lyrics on this one are written by our dear friend Tomas 'Witchfinder' Ericsson of Helvetets Port. More...

Enforcer Reveals New Album, "Diamonds," Artwork

Swedish heavy metal sensations ENFORCER have revealed the cover art for their new album, "DIAMONDS," due to be released in Europe by Earache Records on May 24th and the rest of the world by Heavy Artillery Records on May 25th.

View the cover art for "DIAMONDS" at this location.

ENFORCER singer OLOF WIKSTRAND comments, "Diamonds in some way refers to that we're seeing things in a little bigger perspective, or at least we think we do, haha. To me the word sounds majestic in some strange way, and that's what I like about it too."

"It was a bit dared, but also very natural for us to put ourselves on the cover. That was actually the first thing we agreed on concerning the artwork. The idea with us holding the diamond just came to us when we put one and two together." More...
