Kenosha, WI's Lazarus A.D. have come a long way in the last year, having re-released The Onslaught through Metal Blade and touring US and Canada with the likes of Amon Amarth, Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch and most recently Testament and Unearth. Lazarus A.D. will now be taking their energetic and enthralling stage show overseas to the fans at Japan's infamous Loud Park festival! Bassist/vocalist, Jeff Paulick, describes being invited to play as “an unbelievable honor” and the band is unanimous in their excitement about doing a festival of this magnitude this early in their career. Also confirmed so far for this year's Loud Park also are Poison The Well, Napalm Death, Arch Enemy, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Slayer and the legendary Judas Priest.
Lead guitarist Dan Gapen sums it up: “All I can say is wow. I am so honored to play a festival of such magnitude. I can't wait to experience the Japanese culture…Sake anyone?!?!”
Lazarus A.D.'s touring onslaught will continue in just a few short weeks with label mates, Bison b.c. and Woe of Tyrants, on the Baptized In Beer tour.

British heavy metal gods Judas Priest has been confirmed as the headliners for Japan's Loud Park Festival. The event takes place between October 17th and 18th in Tokyo. Other bands on the bill include Slayer, Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Napalm Death, Fair Warning, Outrage, Poison The Well and Lazarus A.D. with more to be announced soon.
Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick has checked in with the following tour update:
"We're in the homestretch of the tour and it's hard to believe it's almost over. This one really whizzed by, as we've hit a lot of places we were long overdue to play, such as Atlanta, New Orleans and St. Louis. Despite the fact that Testament, Unearth and Lazarus AD are three different generations of bands, there is a strong sense of camaraderie. Highlights include Sayreville, NJ, where we were joined on stage for 'Disciples Of The Watch,' by Sirius XM Liquid Metal host Jose Mangin, proving that he can sing metal, as well as spin it. At that same show, Buzz from Unearth did a stage dive, causing the wrath of a security guard who, not realizing who he was tried to throw him out unsuccesfully, as we watched from the stage (it was a wild night). More and more fans have been participating in the VIP packages, and it's been fun to get to know them better and let them in on the set up process with the shows. We're in the great state of Texas now, working our way West. Just over a week to go before we wrap in Cali for the last three gigs, Sand Diego, LA and SF. Thanks to all the fans for making this a great tour for all three bands!"
Vancouver four-piece Bison b.c. have just announced they're heading out on tour with fellow thrashers Lazarus A.D. for the Baptized in Beer tour, which will take them across both the U.S. and Canada.
“We can't wait to crawl back into the blue bitch and drive from town to town melting faces and damaging livers - so lock up yer liquor cabinets, we will see you in the future,” Bison b.c. said in a statement released through their record label, Metal Blade.
Support on select dates will come from Barnburner, and label-mates Woe of Tyrants. More...
Testament is currently headlining their own North American Tour, supporting their 2008 album “The Formation of Damnation.” This is after a stint on the Metal Masters tour last summer, when they were disappointingly relegated to be the first band on stage, and ended up playing only 25 minutes a night. While that may seems reasonable when the other bands are Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell and Motorhead, it is still a disappointment to see a band like Testament get the shaft. This tour is the complete opposite, with Testament ruling the night despite strong performances from Unearth and Lazarus A.D. While the openers gave a good shot at upstaging the headliner, in the end everyone knew their place.
Harpo’s in Detroit has a unique setup. First off it is a particularly blighted part of Detroit. The evening starts by going through a metal detector while being closely watched by security guards carrying big hand guns. The doors opened at 6:00 pm, but there was hardly anyone there right at 6:00, and the parking lot had no tailgating. After the show the 24-hour Popeye’s next door was completely empty. More...
Lazarus A.D. are currently streaming online the song "Who I Really Am" from their debut album "The Onslaught," which was released in April of 2007. The song can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
There was a lot of buzz around Alberta before Testament unleashed their blistering brand of thrash at the MacEwan Hall Ballroom May 6.
And after their all too short 30-minute set at Monsters of Rock last summer, there were a lot of fans across Alberta awaiting the band's return, this time as headliner.
“After seeing them with absolutely horrible sound & a short set at Monsters Of Rock, it'll be cool to see them with decent sound & a full set,” enthused one Calgary fan before the show. More...

Metal Blade band Lazarus A.D. recently shot their first ever video for "Thou Shall Not Fear," a track from their album "The Onslaught." It was shot at the so-called haunted Eagle's Ballroom in the fine city of Milwaukee, WI. The video will debut on Sunday April 19th.
Lazarus A.D. is also hitting the road for a long stint of touring with Unearth, Testament, Skeletonwitch, Goatwhore, and Amon Amarth. Here are the latest tour dates: More...
Lazarus A.D. has posted the track, "Rebirth," to their MySpace page. The song comes off their debut album, "The Onslaught."
Lead guitarist Dan Gapen comments on their tour with Amon Amarth: “The shows have been bad ass and it’s been great meeting all the crazy metal heads across the country. I also have to say that partying with all the guys in Amon Amarth, Goatwhore, and Skeletonwitch has been an event all of its own." More...
UNEARTH is currently gearing up for their upcoming tour with Testament, which kicks off on May 2nd in Seattle, WA. The band is touring to support their critically acclaimed album, "The March," which hit streets on October 14, 2008 and debuted at #45 on the Billboard Top 200. The upcoming North American tour also features newcomers and label mates Lazarus A.D., rounding out the bill.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps commented on the tour: "I've been a fan of Testament since I was a kid, so it'll be a great time each night for me. It's always fun to play our set, and it'll be awesome to catch Testament after we play. We're gonna have six weeks of good times. It will also be cool to tour with our label mates, Lazarus A.D. They're on their first record with Metal Blade. I heard their album last night, and it had some great shred parts. This whole tour is going to be a shred fest for sure!"
"Being such big fans of Testament, and to see this new appreciation of heavy thrash music, especially with the kids, is really something special," added drummer Derek Kerswill. "Between Testament, us, and Lazarus A.D., it's a cool family of traveling thrash ridiculousness. We're thankful to be out with a band that we're not only fans of, but that slays as hard as they do. It blows my mind that the guys in Testament are in their 40's, and they're throwing down harder than kids in their 20's. We're out there preaching the metal gospel, so the kids better bring a helmet cuz we'll be knocking down walls everywhere we play!"
The tour is being presented by Revolver Magazine, with tickets and VIP packages available now.

Florida metallers The Absence have issued the following announcement about replacing Lazarus A.D. on the final three shows of the Amon Amarth tour:
"Hey there kids, Amon Amarth is touring the U.S. and Lazuraus AD aparently can not play the last three dates of that tour and we have been asked to do those shows. We will be playing the Atlanta, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale shows. We hope to see you there head banging and thrashing your faces off!"
UNEARTH is teaming up with Artificial Army to shoot a video for their song "Grave of Opportunity" from their latest album, "The March," on Thursday March 19th. The video is set for release during their North American tour with Testament and Lazarus A.D., which kicks off in Seattle on May 2nd.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps comments, "This video will be a lot different than any of our other videos. We are looking to mix things up and not just make the same old boring ass videos most everyone else makes. It might rule and it might suck. My money is on ruling."
