American metalcore act Gwen Stacy has posted the following statement online in regards to the band's decision to call it quits and disband:
"After six years, nineteen countries, countless US tours, two albums, and an EP, Gwen Stacy has decided call it quits. We feel like now is the best time to end the band and pursue other options and directions in life. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the bands career over the years.
"There are too many people to thank everyone individually, but we would like to send a special thanks to past members TJ Sego, Cole Wallace, Bobby Oakley, Josh Rickard, Mike Bryant, and Chris Suter, our manager Mark LaFay, Carl Severson and everyone else at what was Ferret Music, Once Nothing, Life In Your Way, Poison The Well, Haste The Day, Vanna, and every other band that we’ve been able to share the road with.
"Thank you as well to anyone who came out to a show, bought a shirt or cd, sang along, let us crash on their floor, or was just supportive in any way.
"A few of the members will be starting new projects and we will be updating our pages as these projects start to unfold. We want to assure everyone that we are splitting up on good terms. We’re all excited to see what everyone has in store for their future endeavors. Be sure to keep checking back to follow up with what everyone is doing.
"Our last show will be Saturday November 20th at Rhino’s, 331 S Walnut St. Bloomington, IN. Please come out and get gross with us one final time.
"Thanks again for everything…
Brent, Geoff, Patrick, Matt, and Brett"

Gwen Stacy has found a replacement for departed singer Bob Oakley. Now joining the band is Once Nothing guitar player Geoff Jenkins. The band had the following to say:
"Our friend Geoff Jenkins will be taking over vocal duties for Gwen Stacy. He is coming to us from our very very good friends in Once Nothing. He had been playing guitar for them for about the last thow years. Before that he was the front man of a band and has been looking for an opportunity to do vocals again.
"We are very excited about this transition....we hope you guys will be as happy with it as we are. We understand we've been through alot of changes this year and how it can be disheartening, but please believe it has all been for the best. As your friends we ask you please do not be discouraged, because we will be stronger than ever in the new year. We also have a little surprised planned for early next year that will give you all a chance to hear what Geoff can do."
Gwen Stacy has amicably parted ways with vocalist, Bobby Oakley. The group has issued the following statement:
"After a year of touring with Gwen Stacy, Bobby has decided to step down. He has decided that his heart is no longer with being in a touring band. He's off to finish his degree in graphic design and spend time with loved ones. We want to thank him for joining the band when we were in need of a guitar player and keeping the band alive by filling in on vocals when we were almost down and out. It is sad to see him go, but he's got great things in store. Bob, we love you.
"Now for the good news... We will not be missing any tour dates. We are happy to let you know that our friend Keith Jones, formerly of the Rise Records band Oceana, will be doing vocals for us on this tour. We're excited to have him around and hope that you all are excited as well. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Details surrounding Unearth's recently completed new album, "The March," have been revealed as well as dates on their fall headlining tour.
The band posted in their blog:
"Well, we've completed work on our new album entitled The March which is scheduled to drop on October 14 via Metal Blade Records. According to Trevor, 'The March' symbolizes both the evil and hopeful sides of humanity. The Evil: With the constant balancing act of power within government, religion and our financial institutions, there lies the chance of those most hungry for power to alter and restrict our freedoms for their gain. The Hopeful: This represents the faith in mankind as the most powerful force on the planet. If we come together and do not fight over religion, class and borders then we hold the key to a peaceful world. There are two possible futures in store; either a March of power and greed or a March of a unified human race."
The final track listing for "The March" is:
1. My Will Be Done
2. Hail the Shrine
3. Crow Killer
4. Grave of Opportunity
5. We Are Not Anonymous
6. The March
8. The Chosen
9. Letting Go
10. Truth or Consequence
In advance of the release of "The March," Unearth will be heading out on a U.S. tour with Protest the Hero, The Acacia Strain, Whitechapel and Gwen Stacy. The band will be debuting a couple of new songs from "The March" while on tour as well
