Finnish metallers Amoral have issued the following statement about an upcoming radio show:
"Ben and Ari will be guesting on Radio X3M Next tuesday, February 10th at 4:30 pm (Finnish time). You can listen to the interview online at X3M's website."
Finnish metallers Amoral have issued the following update about their upcoming release:
"New Amoral material will be available in February! A single called “Year Of The Suckerpunch” will be released in 11.2., and the song will be aired on Finnish radio stations starting this Friday.
“Year Of The Suckerpunch” is a song from the upcoming, yet unnamed 4th album which will be released in May. The recordings of the album are now done, and it’s going through the mixing process at the moment.
"Second song on the single will be a Misfits cover, “Dig Up Her Bones”. Pre-order the CD single from Record Store X now!"
Drummer Mauro Gargano has issued the following statement (translated to English):
"Already for sometime I have had lost the inspiration from doing this. Now that the guys left to the Raskas Joulu-tour and Ari has his next own gig only in January, there opened the possibility that they have time to find a new fellow in my place and no one is left in trouble... There is no bigger drama to this thing. Koivuset [Ari Koivunen Band] are still my great friends and I wish nothing but the best to them. It would kind of have been a backhanded favor to continue with them, when the others play fullhearted and I'm not so into that... And in addition we will release The Mama King -band's album in the spring. So there. :)"
Ari Koivunen, solo artist and winner of the Finnish national TV talent competition "Idols," was recently announced as the new singer for Finnish metal band Amoral.
Finnish heavy metal act Amoral has posted the following message online:
"Amoral is a five-piece again! Since the announcement of Niko leaving we've received tons of applications from singers all over the world. As we mentioned earlier, we wanted to find a guy who was not only able to handle the growling of the old songs, but who also had a strong melodic voice. Well, little did we know that we'd end up with one of the most talented vocalists around! Ari's (Koivunen) merits as a singer are well known (at least here in Finland), but it might surprise a lot of people that the dude can also growl with the best of them! And the fact remains that he truly was the strongest candidate from all those who applied for the job.
"Being the sneaky bastards that we are, we have been writing and practising hard for a long while now while keeping low profile, and we're happy to announce that the material for the fourth Amoral album is just about ready! The recording will start next month and will go on through January. The album should be out before the summer. Of course, we'll keep you guys posted.
"Now, before some of you old-school Amoral maniacs condemn us to hell: No, we're not going power metal on your asses. The trademark riffs are still there. The little quirkiness. The "fuck everybody" attitude. And most importantly, the songs are just as strong as you've come to expect from us. Stronger, actually. You could clearly see on Reptile Ride already that we were eager to push our music to a more melodic direction, and the next natural step was to go all the way with the vocals. This is a new beginning for us, and we truly believe our best work is still ahead of us."
Finnish metallers Amoral has posted the following message online:
"Just a quick update on what's going on in the AMORAL world... we're hard at work on the material for the fourth album, with a few songs ready and a bunch more in the works. So far so good! The songs are coming to us pretty easily and we're very happy with them, hopefully you guys will be too.
"As for the singer situation, we've received tons of applications from singers all over the world. We've listened to each and every one of you, and now have a couple of strong candidates. Hopefully we'll be able to make the important announcement in the near future. Thanks for everyone who applied for the job, it was nice to see so many interested in joining this band!
"We have uploaded a bunch of pics from our last gig with Niko at Tammela's 'Thrashiä Läpi Yön' festival to our MySpace gallery, so check out what this historic event looked like.
Finnish metallers, Amoral, have issued the following statement regarding the departure of their singer, Niko Kalliojärvi:
"We are sad to inform you that Niko is leaving Amoral. A while ago he sat us down and told us that he's having serious motivation problems and feels like it's time to do other things. We were in shock, as none of us saw this coming. We were sure Niko was enjoying the ride just as much as we were. We tried reasoning with him, even offering him a year-long break to do whatever else he feels like he needs to do, but quickly realized he had already made his mind." More...
Finnish heavy metal band Amoral issued a statement on their website announcing the addition of a new bassist to replace Erkki Silvennoinen, who departed the band last year. The band gave the following statement:
"We are more than happy to welcome Pekka Johansson to the band as our new bass player! Pekka has been helping us out with our recent live duties, and the vibe’s been great both on and off stage. The dude’s a great bassist, has a killer stage presence and is good company, so we quickly realized we’d need to look no further."
Pekka has also joined the Amoral web forum and is currently fielding questions there from fans.
Finnish "Wacken Metal Battle 2007" winners CRYSTAL BLAZE have announced the addition of longtime friend, Juhana "Juffi" Karlsson from AMORAL, as their new drummer. According to a press release, "Juffi performed with the band in Qstock (Oulu, Finland) 2007 and Wacken Open Air 2007, as well as recorded drums for the band's latest release, 'Beneath the Sands'. Apart from having a perfectly fitting personality for the CRYSTAL BLAZE crew, Juffi's versatile drum playing has improved the band's groove and technical expertise and expanded the band's sonic landscape to a new level."
In other news, CRYSTAL BLAZE has made four new tracks available for download from the band's official web site. "The new four-song release called 'Beneath the Sands' with its four rockin', ass-kickin' 'n' earth-shakin' tracks introduces a much heavier, groovier and more progressive side of CRYSTAL BLAZE as a deviation from the band's earlier power metal approach," according to a press release.
Future plans for CRYSTAL BLAZE include gigging and composing material for a full-length CD.
Finnish metallers AMORAL have issued the following update:
"We have some cool dates coming up in March - Lahti, Oulu, Helsinki and Kerava will feel the love, and some more dates might pop up in the near future. Don't miss the action, buy your ticket in advance from www.lippupalvelu.fi (Lahti, Oulu) and www.tiketti.fi (Helsinki)."
Amoral live dates now include:
1 - Lahti, Finland - Finlandiaklubi (w/ PROFANE OMEN)
8 - Oulu, Finland - Teatria (w/AMORPHIS)
15 - Helsinki, Finland - Curium Metal Club
22 - Kerava, Finland - Kerava Metal Fest
Ben Varon, guitarist of Finnish metallers AMORAL, has issued the following update:
"Its been a bit quiet here on amoralweb.com lately, sorry about that! There haven't been that much going on after the tour (which was killer - see the tour blog for more on the subject). Everyone's kind of doing their own thing at the moment. It's been a long time since we last had a few weeks break. Some of us are gonna be abroad for a while, some of us are just chillin' at home taking it easy. I have the honor of being part of the annual Dimebag Beyond Forever Tour this year, eight gigs in tribute of the pink-bearded legend, with all the profits going to charity. So my time is spent on practicing Pantera songs at the moment, mostly. We have a couple of gigs coming up by the end of the year, and right after new years we'll continue to tour Finland. Dates to be announced soon. Some plans for later 2008, we'll keep you posted."
Upcoming Amoral live dates include:
12 - Tampere, Finland - Talvipotpuri
12 - Pori, Finland - Annis
18 - Tampere, Finland - Hellä
25 - Pietarsaari, Finland - Club Jeppis
Amoral has released and official statement regarding bassist Erkki Silvennoinen's departure:
"The rumors are all over the net, so we might as well release this official statement ahead of schedule... Yes, Erkki is leaving the band. No big drama behind the scenes: he is simply involved in too many projects to keep up with our hectic pace. And especially now, with a new album coming out and tons of gigs and promotion to do, we need every member's undivided attention on Amoral.
"Not one gig will be cancelled because of this: we have a few qualified bass players in line to help us out if needed, and already some very potential candidates for a permanent band member. Though we are gonna take our sweet time before making anyone an official member of the band, that's for sure. You don't just walk right in the Amoral famiglia, you have to earn it...
"Erkki will play his last gig with us at Jalometalli, Oulu on August 17th. We wish him all the best with his future projects.
-Ben, Silver, Niko & Juffi"

"Amoral is about to film a video for 'Leave Your Dead Behind', the single from the upcoming album Reptile Ride, and wants YOU to participate."
"The shooting will take place at Nosturi, Helsinki on Sunday, May 20th, and audience members should be there around 3 PM. The idea is to do a good-ol’ “band and audience going crazy at a gig” type video, so all moshers, stagedivers and headbangers are especially welcome."
"During that day we’ll also have the first public listening session of Reptile Ride, so if you’re interested to hear the new stuff, even more reasons to show up!" More...

The following messages have been posted on the official Dark Funeral website:
"We are sorry to inform that DARK FUNERAL, NAGLFAR, AMORAL & ASMODEUS gigs in Lódz and Katowice have been cancelled. Massive Music would like to apologize for all inconveniences caused to Dragon Productions and the bands. The cancellation is beyond our control, we are entirely helpless in the face of the present political situation in Poland. "
Mariusz Kmiolek/Massive Music POLAND
"We understand this has really nothing to do with Dark Funeral alone as a band, but by a musical scene the Polish Catholics obviously wish to forbid. To us this is just another proof of the hypocrisy that lies behind organised religions. They happily promote tolerance, yet, as soon as they see something they dislike, they are fast as a shark to call for censorship. The thing is, reactions like this will most certainly give the opposite result, it always does! We would however like to apologize for all inconveniences this has and will cause our Polish fans, but this is unfortunately beyond our control"

"He wants to concentrate more on his own band and put his time into this in future." A replacement for Arngrim has yet to be announced.
ASMODEUS are scheduled to release their sophomore album, "Imperium Damnatum", on March 17 via Twilight-Vertrieb. "The production is true the most brutal and dark one we have ever had," the band write. "The sound fits prefectly to the songs and unleashes the inner darkness of these eternal chorals. The cover artwork is also done so far. It was again created by Juanjo Castellano from Spain, who also did the cover for [2003's] 'Phalanx Inferna'."
