Despised Icon has issued the following update:

"It’s been a while already since we made THE announcement and I know some of you are probably saying 'WTF, these guys still aren’t done yet?!' hahah Well, instead of canceling the tours we had in the works at the time, we figured it’d be a good opportunity to play in our favourite cities, tour in a few countries we had never visited before and rock out with you guys for the last time."

"After touring in 24 countries in the last 6 months, we’re finally back home and getting ready to play our last Quebec and Ontario shows next week. This final world tour was simply amazing and since this is the last time we check-in with you guys, I just want to sincerely thank you all once again for all your help and support. We’ve had some good fucking times together!"

"For those who were planning on coming to our final Montreal shows, we have a few surprises for you. The original Despised Icon line-up (2002-2006) will make its appearance and play a few songs from the first 2 albums! We're also happy to announce that our brothers in Ion Dissonance and Beneath The Massacre will be supporting their new records for the first time at home and ABACABB will also be playing one of their last shows ever with us. Our homies in The Acacia Strain, Oceano and Mychildren Mybride will also be part of the event. It's gonna be epic. A weekend metal show is the perfect opportunity for every metalhead in a hundred-mile radius to get their fix of headbanging and ear damage. A weekend metal show with bands that complement each others’ sound and keep up a consistent level of energy through the entire show is a big reason not to miss the opportunity. Five bands specializing in crushing riffs, otherworldly death metal vocals, and syncopated rhythms teamed up for such a show -- Nashville, TN at Rocketown on the night of October 22nd into the morning of the 23rd. With Whitechapel headlining, I Declare War opened the show. Following them were Oceano, Miss May I, and Impending Doom. There were enough sub drops throughout the show to make Rocketown’s foundation shift. More...

Oceano Updates Progress On New Album "Contagion"

Chicago grind/deathcore act Oceano have released a statement in regards to their upcoming studio album "Contagion." The album is being produced by famed producer Zuess who has worked with The Acacia Strain, Municipal Waste and Hatebreed amongst others.

Oceano bassist Jason Jones commented by saying:
"We’ve been working with Zeuss for a couple weeks now and this album is sounding incredible so far. All of the drums are finished for every song, we’ve got the rhythms done for 7 of the songs so we’re gonna finish up those either tomorrow or the next day, then I’ll record the bass. We’ve also got vocals done for 2 of the songs. Zeuss has been drilling the band everyday pushing us to our limits to make this the best possible record it can be. If something played sucks he’ll say "nah man that sucks do it again" and that’s what every band needs out of a producer. This album is going to blow "depths" out of the water." More...
