Following Otep dropping off the Civil Unrest tour after accusing a member of Terror Universal of sexual harrasment, Ill Nino has now issued the following statement about the tour going on without either group:
"Ill Nino does not condone any forced act of violence or sexual nature towards any human beings, nor will we tolerate violations of one's personal space.
"This also goes for cyber-bullying, or making demeaning comments towards ANYONE on social media. We strongly support equality for all.
"We would like to draw closure by stating that the Civil Unrest Tour will continue without participation from either Otep or Terror Universal. We're looking forward to hitting the road, reuniting with our fans and friends, and also sharing the stage with our tour brothers, and sisters, Kittie & 36 Crazyfists. Stay tuned, more bands to be added!!"
After releasing a music video for "Live Like There's No Tomorrow," Ill Nino has returned with a brand new video for "I'm Not The Enemy."
"I'm Not The Enemy" comes by way of the band's latest album "Till Death, La Familia" and the video was shot on the streets of Los Angeles, telling a a bold story of youthful injustice, overcoming social stereotypes, and the dreams of constructing a better life.
Vocalist Christian Machado explains, “We wanted something traditional and classic that represented the everyday struggle between the good side of society, the bad side of society, and the judged side of society.”
Originally broadcast on LATV last week, the video was produced by Scott Hansen (Otep, A Day To Remember) and co-directed by bassist Laz Pina. More...
"Till Death, La Familia," the new album from rock stalwarts Ill Nino, is available today and now Revolver Magazine is hosting the video for first single, “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow.” Check out the clip below.
Vocalist Cristian Machado declares of the album: “The main objective is to do something refreshing, to do something that’s a little different than our other albums and to do something a little bit modern.” Machado continues, "The new album will have its surprises and all I will say is that it is very catchy and very groove-oriented. The lyrics, I feel, are by far the best lyrics I've ever written, and I really do give the guys in the band so much credit for writing such amazing songs for this new album."
The album was produced by Eddie Wohl (Anthrax, Fuel, Cradle Of Filth), co-produced by drummer Dave Chavarri and Ill Nino, and mastered by Maor Applebaum (Sepultura). More...

It's Friday night, and if you have a beer in your hand, you naturally ought to be listening to two guys yammering about metal. This week on the Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, we apply our finely sharpened critics' scalpels and "rapists' wit" to yet another round of new and upcoming music from a diverse array of bands.
Co-host Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) has a well-documented hankering for technical and progressive metal, and eagerly tackles two fresh new songs, "Sapphire" and "Carved In Stone," from forward-thinking extreme outfit Fallujah.
Co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) offers a stiff double, sans chaser: the much-hyped eponymous debut album from Wovenwar (ex-As I Lay Dying) and "Till Death, La Familia," the seventh disc from New Jersey "Latin metal" sextet Ill Niño. In Mike's opinion, one of these efforts is good... the other ain't so hot. Find out which is which, and why.
Finally, Kevin recaps DevilDriver's recent headlining show at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, FL, featuring Whitechapel, Carnifex, Revocation, and Rivers Of Nihil. Check out his reaction to the show (for which we held a promotional ticket giveaway), and if you attended one of the tour dates, see if it approximates your own experience. We want to hear from you!

"Setting up for sound check at the LKA in Stuttgart, Germany. So far so good except we are missing our drummer. Unfortunately, Dave had a family emergency & will not be able to make this European week long festival run.
"We miss the big guy already & are praying that all will be OK. Big thank you to Matt Alston who is sitting in during this run. Matt is in an awesome band called Sanctorum & is also Dave's tech. Dude sounds bad ass so, go check out his band Sanctorum from the UK!"
Dave also added, "As Christian stated I'm very sad that I will not attend the upcoming 4 Ill Nino euro shows. These are the only 4 shows I have ever missed, since the beginning of Ill Nino. This is all very unexpected but I need to be there for my family, and hope everyone understands... Our dear friend Matt (from Sanctorum) will be filling in for these shows, he was my first choice and I know he will kick ass! Matt has been my drum tech for close to 4 years, so who better then him to fill in.....Thanks Matt, thanks to my bros in ill nino, and thanks to all ill nino fans for understanding...See you all soon."
