Hatebreed Reveals Covers Album Release Date
Hardcore metal act Hatebreed has announced that their forthcoming new covers album, "For The Lions" will be released in North America on May 5th in North America via E1 Music (formerly known as Koch Records) and will appear on the shelves on Europe on May 11th through Century Media.

GTA4: The Lost and Damned Gets A Metal Station
"The Lost and Damned," the first expansion pack for Rockstar Games' hugely successful video game, Grand Theft Auto IV, is out now on Xbox 360. Aside from the new missions and characters, one of the biggest features of the expansion pack is the addition of all-new radio shows - with one aimed squarely at metalheads.
The game's LCHC (Liberty City Hardcore) radio station now features a new show hosted by MAX CAVALERA of SEPULTURA/SOULFLY fame, which includes a slew of timeless metal favourites such as Earache Records legends AT THE GATES, ENTOMBED and TERRORIZER - providing the perfect soundtrack for hitting the streets of Liberty City.

Sepultura Cancels Slovenia Show
Sepultura has issued the following statement about canceling their show tonight in Slovenia:
"We are very sorry to inform that the Sepultura concert in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on February 17th, was canceled. The local promoter informed us by e-mail two days ago that the venue would change for this show, and when the band and crew arrived in Slovenia to check the venue, no specs on the rider were respected, and that made the show impossible to be made. The band's crew did all they could, but it is simply impossible.
"If you are from Ljubljana, you know the Orto Club, which is in fact a very nice Club, but the technical specs of the venue are not even close to what the band needs to do a show.
"Unfortunately we depend on local people to make things done, but when they do not do their job properly we have to suffer consequences. We are all very sorry and we hope to come back in our European Tour and bring this show back to Slovenia, as we always do every tour."
Max Cavalera To Appear In New GTA Game
Former Sepultura frontman and current leader of Soulfly Max Cavalera will appear as the host of the L.C.H.C. (Liberty City Hardcore) radio station in the new video game, "Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost And Damned" Rockstar Games revealed today. The radio station will include some more metal songs this time around, including "I Cum Blood" by Cannibal Corpse, Bathory's "Call From The Grave", Entombed's "Drowned" and "Fear Of Napalm" by Terrorizer. The Classic Rock station will also be updated to include "Wild Side" by Motley Crue and "Wheels Of Steel" by Saxon amongst others. Hatebreed Reveals Covers Album, New Guitarist
HATEBREED has revealed the release date and tracklisting of their new covers album, "For The Lions." The album is set for release on Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records). This new release is the follow-up to the band’s #1 Billboard charting DVD, LIVE DOMINANCE (released September of 2008).
The songs on "For The Lions" were carefully selected by HATEBREED to represent a panoramic view of some of their favorite artists and greatest musical inspirations. Having completed the album in 2008, the band felt their work wasn’t done yet and just returned to the studio with original guitar player Wayne Lozinak to record additional tracks for the album. The four new covers are among the most bludgeoning the band has yet to record. These include, “Ghosts Of War” (Slayer), “Supertouch/Shitfit (Bad Brains), “Thirsty” (Black Flag) and “Suicidal Maniac” (Suicidal Tendencies).
FOR THE LIONS was produced, engineered and mixed by long-time band associate Chris "Zeuss" Harris.

In additional HATEBREED news, the band announced the departure of guitar player Sean M. Martin, welcoming back to the fold original guitarist Wayne Lozinak.

Cannibal Corpse Wins "Greatest Death Metal Song"
Death metal legends Cannibal Corpse has won the award of "Greatest Death Metal Song Of All Time" for their staple track, "Hammer Smashed Face" in a poll on the German website Metal-Hammer.de. In second place was Swedish act Arch Enemy with their song, "We Will Rise" and third place was given to Death for the song "Crystal Mountain."

Sepultura Guitarist: "Max Cavalera Is Crazy"
Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser recently conducted an interview with Blistering.com. During which he gave his opinions on former Sepultura and current Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera. Some excerpts from the interview can be read below.
Q: Is there any resentment toward the new lineup in Brazil? In North America, it seems the old lineup is that all people want to concern themselves when it comes to Sepultura.
A: "Everywhere we feel very positive vibrations. (Former Sepultura frontman) Max (Cavalera - SOULFLY/CAVALERA CONSPIRACY) has played a lot more in America than us, so his point of view was spread much more in the press. I guess that’s normal, it’s propaganda. Max is crazy - he says crazy stuff in interviews, contradicts himself a lot and you can never count on what he says, so I guess people are confused. People can say or think whatever they want, but I wish we could have done without that. We are going to have the chance to go back to America. This album is really strong and the reaction has been strong as well. I’ve been doing a lot of interviews with people in the United States and it’s been very positive. People have to listen to the music with an open mind and ears and not with all the gossip and politics and bullshit. Sepultura is something that is alive. It’s not something that stopped in ’95 or ’96. We create this band everyday." More...

Sepultura Posts "A-Lex" Online In Full
Brazilian thrash metal legends Sepultura has created a new hotsite which will allow fans to follow them on the road. Since the band aren't on tour at the moment, they're allowing fans to listen to all of their forthcoming new album, "A-Lex." You can check it out by heading here.
A press release reads as follows: "The band will be posting exclusive videos, photos, twitter and blogging from the road. And you will able to vote the setlist for every single gig of the tour! You'll be able to include songs like 'Amen', 'Mayhem', 'Manifest', 'Mass Hypnosis' and other in the setlist. Metal Legends Touring Chile Under One Band Name
Guitarist Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens (Yngwie Malmsteen, Iced Earth, Judas Priest), bassist David Ellefson (F5) and Jimmy DeGrasso (F5 & Alice Cooper) will be touring Chile January 22-27 for five very exclusive shows under the collective name HAIL! Sepultura To Film "We've Lost You" Video
Legendary Brazilian thrash metal band Sepultura will be filming a video for the song, "We've Lost You" on Monday in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The song will be the first single from the bands forthcoming new album, "A-Lex" which will be released in North America on January 27th and will have a full European release by January 26th. The album clocks in at sixty minutes and is based on the infamous novel, "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess.

Sepultura Guitarist Posts Phillipines Show Report
Andreas Kisser, guitarist for legendary Brazilian thrash metal band Sepultura, has posted the following message online:
"Just came back from Sepultura's first visit in the Philippines. It was awesome! We played in Manila at a festival organized by a beer company, Red Rock beer, very good and very strong beer. The festival was well organized, good sound and lights. Many local bands were part of the show during the day and more than 15,000 people showed up. Thanks to all involved on this, all the Philipino fans!!! Salama!"
