Drummer Ben Murray commented; "It has been just about two years since Light This City came home from the Death Angel tour and decided to call it quits. Needless to say, it has been an exciting and interesting two years since we put a stop to the band, and since June of 2008 everyone in Light This City has started brand new awesome musical endeavors. That being said, we always knew we would get together one last time to thrash with all our amazing fans up and down California. That time has come, and we are extremely excited to announce four 'Final' Light This City shows. These should all be absolutely killer, and we expect all our west coast fans to be there! We will play a good amount of 'Stormchaser' songs as well as all the bangers from 'Facing the Thousand' and 'Remains of the Gods.' Since we didn't play any shows in support of 'Stormchaser,' this will be the best chance for all of you metalheads in California to come rage with us while we bust out these songs! Hope to see you all there!!"
PROSTHETIC RECORDS recently reissued the band's first record, 2004's self released, "The Hero Cycle." You can order it, as well as the rest of the band's catalog and other merch, here at the PROSTHETIC webshop.

Tales From the Pit: Spin Kicking Davey Havoc
We've been talking to bands around the world to get their best mosh pit stories. We heard from Makh Daniels of Early Graves about his favorite pit experience:
"11 years ago at a now defunct SF venue called the Cocodrie, I was stage diving and moshing a bunch at a Disembodied show. During the part in the song "Bloodshed Rain" where it goes "GOD SAVE US!" I ended up spin kicking Davey Havoc in the face and nearly knocking him out. Highlight of my spin kicking career."
Next week we'll hear about an impromptu boxing ring at an Unholy show.

Apiary Changes Name to Early Graves
Northern California's Apiary have changed their name to EARLY GRAVES and will be releasing a brand new album titled "We: The Guillotine" via Ironclad Recordings on August 19th, 2008. Two new tracks off the band's upcoming release have been posted to the band's new MySpace page.
Here's what guitarist and founding member Chris Brock had to say about the name change:
"We changed the name from Apiary to Early Graves for a pretty simple reason. The songs we had created on the road under the former name had nothing to do with the original Apiary and we needed a new name that was a better fit, and more relevant to who we are. We wanted a name that meant burning your wick at both ends. It also didn't hurt that there was no original members left and we didn't want to be that band." More...
