Below is our complete IWrestledABearOnce news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Iwrestledabearonce has announced a change in musical direction. The group’s foray into black metal is exemplified by their newly designed logo and band photo, which can be viewed below.
“We were sick of getting lumped in with ‘scene’ and ‘whatever-core’ bands, so we decided to embrace our roots and just go straight black metal on the new album,” says guitarist Steven Bradley. “I'd say 90% of the new record is straight-up black metal, so we had to change our image to match...Because of course that's just as important, if not more so, than the music.”
The first song from Iwrestledabearonce’s forthcoming Century Media Records CD will premiere at www.MetalSucks.net on Thursday, May 19. This will mark the band’s first release since 2010’s "It’s All Happening" three disc deluxe reissue CD.

IWrestledABearOnce has built itself a studio to being recording a new album. The band members will be handling the production duties themselves and have already kicked off drum tracking for the album. Assisting in the production and also mixing the LP will be Ryan Boesch (Foo Fighters, Melvins, Andrew WK). The band has also launched a Tumblr account to document the experience at this location.
Guitarist Steven Bradley had the following to say: "Well it's been exactly two years since we were in the studio recording 'It's All Happening' and.. well... a shit ton has happened! We have made more friends/fans than I ever thought possible and seen the world in the process! And now, after two years of almost non-stop traveling, we have spent the past few weeks writing and are ready to begin tracking our second full length! This time around, we decided to just buy some new recording gear and I will be producing/engineering/mixing the album with some help from our 'sixth Beatle' and co-producer on the last album Ryan Boesch. If you liked our first EP and 'It's All Happening', then chances are you will enjoy this album too. We try to continuously evolve and push the envelope further in every direction, but we definitely still sound like us. Thanks for the support over the past few years and we're beyond stoked to see you back on tour in 2011 with some new songs in our set!"

Blame it on the liquored egg nog or a simple exuberance to finally tear open those beautiful packages under the tree, but somehow we didn't get up the list of new Rock Band Network metal songs last Friday. Just because it isn't the weekend doesn't mean you can't pull down the plastic guitars and get a-rocking, though, as this week sees quite a few new metal entries to the game.
