Opeth has issued the following update about their drummer Martin Axenrot appearing in an animal rights calendar:
"Djurens Rätt, Sweden's largest non-profit animal rights organization asked if Axe and his cat Max would be interested in being photographed for a very special calendar of Rock Stars and their pets. Axe being a big animal lover didn't hesitate one second which resulted in Max & Axe being Misters July!
"Members of Amon Amarth, Crucified Barbara, Dead by April, Dia Psalma, Hammerfall, Mando Diao, Millencolin, Motörhead, Sonic Syndicate, The Hives & The Soundtrack of Our Live all had their pics taken with their pets as well so if you want to see a slightly different side of your favourite rock band we suggest you order one of these beauties right away.
"Swedish fans can buy it here and if you live abroad you can go to this location (PayPal only). All profit goes straight into the important work these nice people at Djurens Rätt do."

Amon Amarth Comments On Australian Tour
Amon Amarth has issued the following statement about their upcoming Australian tour dates:
"A lot of people have asked us why our shows scheduled in Australia are all 18+. Unfortunately this is beyond our control and we too are just as disappointed by it. The reason behind it has to do with Australia's strict alcohol bylaws. We'd love to be able to include an all ages show but the tight schedule and long travels just make that impossible.
"There's also been questions why we not include more cities. We'd perform in every city in Australia, in every country for that matter, but please bear in mind that our shows are arranged through a booking agency. These are the shows the promoter has set up for us for this time in Australia. Hopefully we'll be able to perform in more cities next time."

Amon Amarth Issues Tour Recap
Amon Amarth has issued the following recap of their summer festival appearances:
"Summer’s over!
"It’s been an amazing festival summer for us this year. We had shows nearly every weekend from the beginning of June till the end of August.
"We got to return to some of our favourite festivals as well as discover some new ones. Some highlights have been on home ground at Sweden Rock Festival. It’s been a real honour to see how many fans we have gotten in the last couple of years in our own backyard. We also got to play for the first time at Roskilde, a long time dream for us. Metalcamp in Slovenia has become like a summer home and the warm reception in Turkey has been overwhelming!
"One show that goes on the top list was of course the one we did at Wacken Open Air. It was the fifth time for us there, first one being 10 years ago in 1999. It’s amazing to see how much that festival has grown over the years with over 75 000 tickets sold (!!). The festival was close to hosting 100 000 people this year. Summer Breeze is another festival that we keep going back to. This year was one of the best times we’ve ever had there! The summer ended for us at Rock Area Festival, a great festival with a very nice atmosphere. It was also the last show for us in Germany for a long time. Now we’ll take a break for about a month from touring. More...
