Australia's Be'lakor has issued the following update about performing a send off show before embarking on a European tour:
"Before we head off for our European tour, we're playing one last massive show in Melbourne: Saturday, August 7th at The Espy. Make sure you come along - it will probably be our last show in Australia for some time, because after we return from Europe we'll be getting back into the process of song writing as we work on our third album. Hope to see you all there!"
The dates and venues of Be'lakor's European tour, which will kick off in August, will be announced as they are made available.
Australia's Be'lakor has issued the following update about their upcoming tour dates with Turisas:
"Hey everyone, as most of you hopefully know, there has been a change for the Turisas tour. We are still supporting Turisas for their Aussie tour, however, as we announced recently, the Brisbane date (Friday May 21st) has been canceled. (For some reason, despite the fact that we have deleted this show from our tour calender on Myspace, it is still showing up on our page - please IGNORE this date). The problems with the tour were a result of Just Say Rock pulling out of their role as the event promoter/organizer.
"Luckily, Soundwave Touring has taken over the tour - but the Brisbance date has been dropped (this was not our call of course). So, apologies to all Brisbane-based fans. The following dates are still correct: SYDNEY Saturday 22nd May - The Factory Theatre (All Ages), MELBOURNE Sunday 23rd May - Billboard the Venue."

What is essentially our first international support slot, we are very excited to be playing with Turisas and heading back to Brisbane and Sydney (with the final show in Melbourne) over one packed weekend in May. FESTIVAL DE LA GRENOUILLE (Festival of the Frog), brings together eight of Melbourne’s leading metal bands, for a night of metal across two stages. The event, supported by both MetalObsession.net and OzProg, is only $15 and takes place at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on July 31, 2009.
Melbourne band Ne Obliviscaris acquired a new lead guitarist, Benjamin Baret, from France in August, 2008. And with his current visa expiring this August, Benjamin’s main hope of staying in Australia long term is a "Distinguished Talent" visa that would extend his stay in Australia at least another 4 years. The only catch, is that it costs more money to apply than he or the band has, (typical broke metal musicians!) and so this amazing line-up has been put together to raise the money for Benjamin’s visa, to help keep him in Australia long term; to help "keep a frog an Aussie."
As well as the amazing line-up of Eyefear, Ne Obliviscaris, Alarum, Be’lakor, The Ocularis Infernum, In Malice’s Wake and A Million Dead Birds Laughing, Festival De La Grenouille also marks the live debut of a new tech/death band, Primordial Space, featuring Benjamin Baret (guitar) and Brendan Brown (bass) from Ne Obliviscaris and brothers Miles and Glenn Krenzin (drums and guitar respectively).
The Festival De La Grenouille (Festival of the Frog) will take place on July 31st at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne, Australia. The currently confirmed line-up for the festival will be as follows:
The Ocularis Infernum
In Malice's Wake
A Million Dead Birds Laughing

Descent Productions has announced the signing of Melbourne, Australia's dark melodic metal band Be'lakor.
In the year that has followed the independent release of their debut, "The Frail Tide," the band's international reputation has grown rapidly. Drawing influences from ancient mythology and the perpetual struggle between destruction and life, Be'lakor creates songs that take the listener on a compelling journey.
From the band: "We are thrilled to be signing with Descent Productions. The bands already on the roster are excellent, and we feel that as a label, Descent offers us great support and the freedom to continue making the music that we're so passionate about. This partnership will certainly bear fruit for our listeners into the future, so stay tuned."
In September 2008, "The Frail Tide" will be re-pressed and released in a special edition digipack format through Descent Productions. Be'lakor's as-yet untitled follow-up to this album will be released through Descent Productions in early 2009.
In the meantime, you can check out some of the band's material on their MySpace page.
