Be'lakor Streaming "Of Breath And Bone"

Following its European release in late 2012 via Kolony Records, this week the third full-length from Australian melodic death metal act Be'lakor sees official stateside liberation through Kolony’s new North American distribution via eOne Entertainment.

To celebrate its stateside release, today This Is Not A Scene is hosting a stream of the massive "Of Breath And Bone" in its entirety. Check it out here or in the player below.

New live ventures for Be'lakor are coming together to take place sporadically throughout the remainder of 2013 in support of the new album. Stay tuned for new updates. The following press release was also issued about the album:

"Of Breath And Bone takes the talents of young but motivated and exceptionally talented Melbourne, Victoria-based quintet Be'lakor to entirely new levels since previous releases. Following the band’s self-released 2007 debut The Frail Tide, Italian label Kolony Records brought the crew into the label’s family for the release of their follow-up, in the form of 2009’s Stone’s Reach album. Stone’s Reach led the band to perform at massive international festivals including Summer Breeze, in addition to European tours and solo international appearances across the continent.

"Having refined their talents even further, the band’s superb third album Of Breath And Bone further exemplifies Be'lakor’s superior metal prowess. Boasting nearly an hour of prime, harmonious death metal, Of Breath And Bone proves why the band is considered the leading melodic death metal band in all of Australia, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street studios (Opeth, Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth)." Be'lakor Album Seeing North American Release

Italian metal label Kolony Records has inked a brand new distribution deal for all of North America through DisManic via eOne Distribution. Having continually expanded to reach more and more European fans and stores since the label’s 2008 formation, with this new distro deal Kolony now aims to get their quality metal releases into the hands of more North American extreme music fans, beginning late this spring with the latest release from Be'lakor.

"Of Breath And Bone" was successfully released by Kolony records across Europe in mid 2012, and is now set to become available to North American fans on June 4th, 2013. The following press release was issued about the band:

"Considered the leading melodic death metal band in all of Australia, despite the young age of its members, the success of Be'lakor’s previous 'Stone’s Reach' album led the band to perform at massive international festivals including Summer Breeze, in addition to European tours and solo international appearances across the continent. The Foreshadowing Added To Summer Breeze Lineup

The organizers of the upcoming Summer Breeze 2012 festival have issued the following update about confirming new acts:

"Italy is not exactly a hotbed for dark doom metal. Fortunately enough, there are always exceptions to confirm the rule. With the three albums they have released so far, The Foreshadowing have provided a master class in gloom and doom. Hailing from Rome, the band prove that it is indeed possible to write great atmospheric songs without falling into excessive pathos and kitsch. Especially singer Marco Benevento's clear, ear-piercing vocals take the group's material to a level which is only populated by bands such as Katatonia, My Dying Bride, early Anathema and even Opeth. Don't miss this black pearl of darkness! You will hardly experience anything bigger, darker and more epic at Summer Breeze 2012!

"Breakdowns aren't exactly the most innovative element in metal nowadays... However, if you use them with such conviction and vehemence as Bleed From Within, even the most athletically challenged of metalheads should soon mutate into pit fighter number one. The UK band have two albums out which should appeal to fans of As I Lay Dying, Bring Me The Horizon and Parkway Drive, while at times Bleed From Within are even more melodic than the aforementioned bands, only to dive into a brutal breakdown the very next second. All fans of metalcore and deathcore should highlight this band in their personal running order, as this is the perfect stuff for all of them!"

The festival is set to take place from August 16th - 18th, will full details available at this location. The currently announced bill is as follows: More...

Be'lakor Announces European Shows

"We are very excited to be playing these dates in Germany, Portugal and England. It’s been a long time coming, and after some recent setbacks with the cancellation of dates, we have relied on our fans in Europe to help us in finding these shows. We owe a great gratitude to everyone who e-mailed us suggesting venues and contacts. Whilst we obviously couldn’t make it to every country in the short space of time that we have on this tour, we hope that some of the fans in other countries who have been waiting to see us will also be able to make it to one of these shows."

The currently announced dates are as follows:

21.08.10 – Germany, Dinkelsbühl – Summer Breeze Festival
22.08.10 – Portugal, Porto – MetalPoint Club

Be'lakor Comments On Canceled European Shows

Australia's Be'lakor has issued the following comments about canceling several of their upcoming European shows:

"As many people have noticed over the past few days, we have unfortunately been dropped from the 'Assault of the Carnivores Tour 2010' in Baroeg, Holland - due to the apparent difficulties of organizing shows around August. This has been especially bad news for Be'lakor, as the Baroeg show was part of a series of up to 10 shows that were being organized through an agent of a prominent American death metal band for the remainder of our European tour.

"We are now faced with the extremely disappointing situation of having had nearly all of our tour pulled from beneath us (with the exception of Summer Breeze). None of this has been within our control and, given how close we are to August, has left us with the very difficult task of trying to find replacement shows.

"As we are sure that any fellow travellers will appreciate, the costs of travelling from Australia to Europe - especially for a small band like ours - are considerable. For this reason, it is essential to us that we make the most of this opportunity and play as many shows as possible. Needless to say, we are very unhappy with how things have worked out. More...

Be'lakor Updates Tour Schedule With Turisas

Australia's Be'lakor has issued the following update about their upcoming tour dates with Turisas:

"Hey everyone, as most of you hopefully know, there has been a change for the Turisas tour. We are still supporting Turisas for their Aussie tour, however, as we announced recently, the Brisbane date (Friday May 21st) has been canceled. (For some reason, despite the fact that we have deleted this show from our tour calender on Myspace, it is still showing up on our page - please IGNORE this date). The problems with the tour were a result of Just Say Rock pulling out of their role as the event promoter/organizer.

"Luckily, Soundwave Touring has taken over the tour - but the Brisbance date has been dropped (this was not our call of course). So, apologies to all Brisbane-based fans. The following dates are still correct: SYDNEY Saturday 22nd May - The Factory Theatre (All Ages), MELBOURNE Sunday 23rd May - Billboard the Venue."

Melbourne's Festival de la Grenouille Announced

FESTIVAL DE LA GRENOUILLE (Festival of the Frog), brings together eight of Melbourne’s leading metal bands, for a night of metal across two stages. The event, supported by both MetalObsession.net and OzProg, is only $15 and takes place at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on July 31, 2009.

Melbourne band Ne Obliviscaris acquired a new lead guitarist, Benjamin Baret, from France in August, 2008. And with his current visa expiring this August, Benjamin’s main hope of staying in Australia long term is a "Distinguished Talent" visa that would extend his stay in Australia at least another 4 years. The only catch, is that it costs more money to apply than he or the band has, (typical broke metal musicians!) and so this amazing line-up has been put together to raise the money for Benjamin’s visa, to help keep him in Australia long term; to help "keep a frog an Aussie."

As well as the amazing line-up of Eyefear, Ne Obliviscaris, Alarum, Be’lakor, The Ocularis Infernum, In Malice’s Wake and A Million Dead Birds Laughing, Festival De La Grenouille also marks the live debut of a new tech/death band, Primordial Space, featuring Benjamin Baret (guitar) and Brendan Brown (bass) from Ne Obliviscaris and brothers Miles and Glenn Krenzin (drums and guitar respectively).
