Philadelphia, PA’s A Life Once Lost has issued a new update from Planet Red in Richmond, VA on the recording of the band's upcoming full-length release with Season of Mist. Planet Red is owned and operated by producer Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, Impending Doom).
“We are hustling along here with this album,” states vocalist Bob Meadows. “It’s going to be a beast of a record and fans can expect a little more honesty both musically and lyrically with an amalgamation of the ALOL signature style and some other surprises that have yet to be over played within the metal community. We are making this record because we enjoy the art of making music, not because we have to make a new record. As long as we are happy playing in ALOL, we will continue to grow and take our sound further.”
After only several days in the studio, the band is making quick progress without sacrificing important details. Meadows adds, “Right now we’re halfway done with guitars and bass. I’ve finished vocals for several tracks and we’re looking to finish basic recording and then fine-tune everything for the next few weeks. We’re going to be posting some video updates in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for those.” More...

Metal Injection spoke with members of God Forbid, A Life Once Lost, Fight Amp, Black Tusk, DAATH, Last Chance To Reason, Howl, Magrudergrind, Cannabis Corpse, Obscura, Prime Evil, Rosetta, This Is Hell, and Ramming Speed about what the worst snowstorm they ever drove through was in the latest edition of the web show "Ask The Artist."
At the MetalSuckFest in New York City, Metal Injection asked members of A Life Once Lost, Fight Amp, Black Tusk, DAATH, Last Chance To Reason, Howl, Magrudergrind, Cannabis Corpse, Ultrageist, Obscura, Prime Evil, Rosetta, This Is Hell and Ramming Speed what the most metal gift they ever received was. Find out their answers in the video below. More...

Metalsucks commented:
"After months and months and months of negotiations — and by 'negotiations,' we mean 'us pestering and begging them constantly' — the group has FINALLY agreed to emerge from their shell to play the opening set on Day 1 of The Metal Suckfest, one week from today, Friday, November 4. The band will play both I Left My Heart…and 1996's Shut Up it’s Good for Your Complexion in their entirety. (The combined running time of both albums is less than fifteen minutes.)
"They also PROMISED us to debut at LEAST two songs from Chinese Bukkakacy, which they have, indeed, been working on for awhile (although apparently it may not be called that anymore — 'The idea seemed pretty funny in 2006, not so much anymore,' the band told us by e-mail)."
