The Devil's Blood Comments On Disbanding
Occult rock act The Devil's Blood recently announced the group is disbanding with the short announcement "The Devil's Blood is no more. As of the 22nd of January 2013 The Devil´s Blood has returned into nothingness."
The Devil's Blood has now checked in with a new statement about breaking up in which the band announces it will be releasing previously recorded album and DVD material in their currently unfinished states. The group comments:
"It has been a while since the announcement of our disbanding was made and we feel now is the right time to convey our plans for the legacy that TDB will leave. Our music and artwork will remain available through both our own website and that of Ván Records as well as any other medium that will prove suitable.

Metal: Sound or Image?
One of the most defining moments in my musical development was back in 2004 when Yahoo Launch saw that I liked listening to Unearth, Fear Factory, and Lamb of God and thought that I might enjoy My Chemical Romance's “I'm Not Okay.” That single moment of revulsion caused me to look for music on my own terms after seeing how some corny and cheesy pop-rock could somehow be marketed towards metalheads. Today, we see a number of bands that try to look and act like they're part of the metal scene through their image (and the bands they tour with), but have a sound rooted more in traditional rock and roll than anything spawned by Sabbath.
First off, I'm not here to debate the merits of bands like Ghost and Ancient VVisdom. The debate over artistic integrity isn't at all relevant here. Instead, this is about is marketing and claiming bands that in no way sound “metal” are still technically considered part of the metal scene. Personally, I do like some occult rock as I've long been a fan of Current 93 and I've done my fair share of listening to Coven. That said, I'd never call Current 93 a metal band nor would I want the group touring with Cannibal Corpse. Variety between acts belongs to big music festivals like Bonaroo and Lollapalooza, and not to small club shows. More...

The Devil's Blood Announces New Shows
The Devil's Blood has announced the band's final round of live shows for the year, which can be found below. The occult rock outfit also comments:
"After a tremendously successful North American tour and a short round of conquest over the European festival circuit we have now finalized the planning for this humble but strategically chosen list of venues, where we will celebrate the Bacchanalian festivities of the Saturnalia, the ancient Roman festival of the undoing of law and master/slave role reversal.
"With these Rituals we aim to inspire within all in attendance the rebellious nature of He Who is Without Light and make them realize their Divine potential and discover within themselves the kernel of fierceness and power known as the Inner Flame.
"We hope that all in attendance will heed the Call of the Wild and release their restraint to find in wine, truth, in fire, strength, in blood, love and in madness, freedom. This tour has been dubbed The Everlasting Satournalia.
"Ván Records has taken the opportunity with these Rituals to promote a new, young member in its roster and German Heavy Metal Traditionalists ATTIC have been selected as a direct support."

Decibel Magazine Show Changes Venues
The inaugural Decibel Magazine tour kicks off in a mere eight days in Columbus, OH. It wasn't too late, however, for the venue owners to prohibit the bands from appearing at The Brewmaster's Gate. Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude are being forbidden from playing at the venue because of religious conflicts with the venue owners. These bands are no strangers to this type of treatment, and a new venue has already been confirmed. The Columbus, OH show will now be at Al Rosa. Tickets for this show are still available and can be purchased here.
Behemoth's front man, Nergal, comments further: "Wow, big motherfuckin' WOW! We are facing a legendary moment: Amerika, the land of the free, is banning Behemoth coz of religious beliefs. The madness starts in Ohio, but of korz we are playing anyway. Nothing can stop us now. God, please save me from this freedom…"
Beginning on April 11th and laying waste through a gargantuan 26-date run, the Decibel Magazine Tour (presented by Metal Blade Records, IndieMerchStore.com, FYE, ESP Guitars and Good Fight Entertainment) not only offers four diverse European artists hand-picked by the magazine, but doubles as Behemoth's first U.S. tour since vocalist/guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski's well-documented battle with—and triumph over—leukemia. The Devil's Blood Comments On Upcoming Tour
Dutch occult rockers The Devil's Blood are gearing up for a near month-long run of North American dates on the forthcoming Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, Watain and In Solitude. The band will be touring in support of "The Thousandfold Epicentre" (reviewed here) released earlier this year via Metal Blade Records.
Comments founder and band leader SL: “The Devil's Blood is proud and extremely eager to travel the New World alongside some of the world’s most dedicated metal bands. Dedicated not to some pathetic notion of ‘scene’ or ‘unity’ but to a clear, totally individual, spiritual path that although not understood by most is perhaps the most valid and urgent one available for wandering feet to travel in the twilight of the Iron Age. We share many opinions and disagree on many more, yet our offerings all speak of that great mystery which we all aspire to with passion and fury. Praise be to all those who accompany us on this particular path.”

For anyone who wants to get there before all the blood and Satanism starts - I know, I know: why would you wanna do that? - we promise to make it worth your while. Watain Comments On Upcoming Tour Dates
As previously announced, Swedish black metal miscreants Watain will take part in the inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, The Devil’s Blood, and In Solitude. The live ceremonies will begin on April 11th in Ohio and bloody 26 stages including a stop in Oklahoma City where the trek will merge with the U.S. Torture Tour featuring Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik for an evening of audio devastation.
Pleased to take part in the event, frontman Erik Danielsson comments: “We were originally meant to spend this year in the shadows, focusing inwards and on the new material we have compiled during the years since Lawless Darkness was released. This tour however was a bit too good to say no to. It is so seldom these days that someone actually managed to put together a descent tour package, which Decibel sure has managed to do this time. A ‘clash of the titans’ indeed! And considering the other bands on the tour, I can just imagine our management and the promotors biting their fingernails in anxiety and horror, waiting for the first arson or murder report from the road.
"Touring the States is always inspirational; there is always lots of emotion, anger, debauchery, decadence and a general feeling of lawlessness in the air, so I am sure this tour will nourish the writing process to a certain extent as well. A rich and fertile foundation of harsh physical and emotional experience has always played a big role in Watain writing new material, and this tour will for sure contribute to that. We will aim to make it interesting and memorable enough to do so.”
