Latest Revocation News
Below is our complete Revocation news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Havok vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez has broken his wrist and the band will be forced to miss several dates on the current tour with Crowbar, Revocation, Fit For An Autopsy and Armed for Apocalypse.
The band will rejoin the tour in California in early October with Revocation's Dan Gargiulo will be filling on guitar while Sanchez returns on vocals.
Here's more in Sanchez's own words:
While hiking in Boulder, Colorado, I took a pretty nasty fall and ended up shattering my left wrist. Since I'm currently unable to play guitar, our friend Dan Gargiulo from Revocation has offered his 6-string services and will be laying down the riffage for the rest of our stint in the USA. I will still be doing vocals on the remainder of the upcoming shows and I cannot wait to get back on the road!
I'd like to apologize to anyone that was looking forward to seeing HAVOK in these coming days. We will definitely make it up to you. In times like these, one must remember the ancient American proverb, "Shit happens." See you on the road!!
One last thing! Here is some good news for a change. Pete's mom is making a full recovery from her recent accident and that means Pete Webber will be back behind the kit rejoining the tour in California. We want to thank Marshall Wieczorek from Wretched for stepping in on drums and doing an awesome job on such short notice.

Revocation just gave us an epic Pit Story about a biffed stage dive yesterday (read it here!) and now the band has released the second in a series of video clips documenting work on new album "Deathless."
"Deathless" is set for an October 14th, 2014 release through Metal Blade Records.
The full album's track listing will be as follows:
Gather around metal heads: it's Pit Story time again!
This week Dave Davidson from Revocation shares a tale of trying to get a fellow musician to stage dive, who wisely turns the offer down.
Undeterred, Dave decides to show the fans in the mosh pit how it's done, with some unfortunate consequences. He tells the story thusly:
We were playing Cleveland at Peabody’s on the Darkest Hour Legacy tour and I was drinking at the bar with Misha from Periphery. The subject of mosh pits and stage diving came up and he said that he had never stage dived before. I was pretty drunk at that point so I was kind of teasing him about not doing it and challenging him to stage dive. He wasn’t into it so I went up and stage dove during Darkest Hour’s set and came out unscathed.
I came back to the bar and Misha was still not having it so I went for round two to prove my point… but then things didn’t go quite as planned. I dove off the stage backwards but I kind of over shot my jump so instead of catching my whole body the crowd only caught my legs which flipped my body around so that my head came crashing to the concrete floor.
I stood up in a daze after basically “piledriving” myself in the middle of the pit and felt a wetness on the back of my head. I soon realized that wet feeling was actually blood and one of the dudes who worked at the club was nice enough to take me to the ER. 8 staples later I was sent on my way. Misha got the aftermath of the stage dive gone awry on video for your viewing pleasure.
Revocation's forthcoming fifth album "Deathless" will drop on October 14th via Metal Blade. Get a taste of the release by hearing "Madness Opus" here or check out the title track at this location. Check out the end result of Dave's mistimed stage leap in the player below: More...
Revocation's fifth album "Deathless" - the band's debut for Metal Blade - is set for an October 14th release.
Today another track from the album has been made available. Listen to "Madness Opus" below, courtesy of Noisey.Vice.com.
Revocation singer/guitarist Dave Davidson comments on the track:
"Madness Opus is based on H.P. Lovecraft's short story 'The Music Of Erich Zann' and is probably the heaviest song off the new album. We've been playing this new tune for a few months now and it's been crushing live so we're stoked to finally premiere the studio version of it."
The album's track listing is as follows:
Revocation's upcoming fifth album, "Deathless," is a fitting debut for Metal Blade Records and a definitive statement of intent from the band, due out October 14th.
"Deathless" was recorded with producer Zeuss at Planet Z studios in Massachusetts. During the recording process, the band shot a series of videos documenting work on "Deathless." Today the first video from the sessions is available for streaming below.
Front man Dave Davidson comments on the video series: "This is the first of 3 video interviews that document the recording process for our upcoming record. We've put a lot into making this album so we wanted to give fans some insight into how it was created. Stay tuned for more episodes coming soon." More...
Boston death thrashers Revocation revealed details of the upcoming fifth full length studio release, and first with Metal Blade Records, "Deathless." The album is set for an October 14th release and the artwork and track list have bee unveiled. "Deathless" will be available in CD, 2LP and digital formats. The title track can be heard streaming in the player below and pre-orders can be made at this location.
"Deathless" was recorded with acclaimed producer Zeuss at Planet Z studios in Massachusetts. The album is ten tracks of "ambitious, catchy, and undeniably heavy material." Musically, cuts like "Madness Opus" showcase a more deliberate REVOCATION - restrained, if even moderately so, to deliver a slow, near-dirge like track. Alternatively, the title track highlights the diversity of Davidson's vocals with a catchy chorus. It's an earworm the likes of which the band had only previously hinted. The rest of the album offers a refreshing variety of music and truly feels like an "album", rather than a collection of similar tracks. This is a refinement, achieved only through years of focusing on their craft.
Davidson adds, "Collectively, we feel that "Deathless" is our finest offering yet. The songs are incredibly varied and each one showcases a different element of the band. Technically, everyone is in top form on this record, as well, and we really pushed ourselves to deliver the best performances possible on all fronts. This is a new chapter and a new beginning for the band; we can't wait for this record to be unleashed in October!"
Lyrically, "Deathless" addresses life on the road and the band's commitment to touring, followed by even more touring. Davidson discusses the track "Madness Opus," which debuted on the recent tour with DevilDriver: "The crowd response for that tune has been overwhelmingly positive. It's one of the heaviest songs we've ever written, hands down, and has been a blast to play live. Lyrically, it's about one of my favorite HP Lovecraft stories, 'The Music Of Erich Zann.' Fans of unnamable cosmic horror and punishing death metal will not be disappointed!"
Revocation begins touring in support of "Deathless" in September with Crowbar in North America, followed by a full European tour with new label mates Cannibal Corpse and Aeon. Dates and venues can be found below.
The track listing for the album is:
1. A Debt Owed to the Grave
3. Labyrinth of Eyes
4. Madness Opus
5. Scorched Earth Policy
6. The Blackest Reaches
7. The Fix
8. United in Helotry
10. Witch Trials More...
English stoner rock band Orange Goblin is the latest name to be added to the 10th anniversary Damnation Festival bill.
Orange Gobline will be joined by black metal quartet Winterfylleth and post-punk outfit October File, with both bands airing material from new albums at Leeds University Union on Saturday, November 1st.
The trio of new additions bolster an impressively eclectic line-up which already boasts Bolt Thrower's only U.K. appearance, a Cannibal Corpse headline set and St. Vitus performing "Born Too Late" in full.
Orange Goblin said: "Over the last few years, Damnation has cemented itself into one of the UK's leading metal festivals, so it is a great honour to be asked back to play for a second time.
"It is already a great line up of bands, and we can't wait to be part of it."
Winterfylleth added: "We are proud to announce we will be playing Damnation Festival once again in 2014. The response we had in 2012 was mind blowing and we hope to see you all there once again. Damnation is a festival we always attend as fans regardless of playing and a must for all serious metal fans. We have a new album out a few weeks before the festival, so will be playing some exclusive new material for the first time on the day.”
October File also comments: "We are over the moon to be playing what is becoming one of the most important and special events in the UK. Damnation has worked hard to forge a name that is a must for fans and underground talent."
The line-up for Damnation Festival so far includes: Bolt Thrower, Cannibal Corpse, Saint Vitus, Raging Speedhorn, Orange Goblin, Anaal Nathrakh, Ahab, Revocation, Solstafir, Winterfylleth, H A R K, October File, Bast, Atlantis and Corrupt Moral Altar, with many more bands to be announced across four stages.
