Revocation Detail New Album & Announce Tour

Revocation confirm “The Outer Ones” as the title to their seventh studio effort, which will be out on September 28th through Metal Blade Records.

Tells the group's frontman/guitarist Dave Davidson:

“I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date. Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route, they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.”

Adding:

“The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well.”

Additionally, the band have just confirmed a North American headlining tour with Exhumed, Rivers Of Nihil and Yautja. Below's where the trek will hit: More...

Ex-Revocation Drummer Accepts $30,000 Settlement

Ex-Revocation Drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne - now drum-tech for Cannibal Corpse - has accepted a $30,000 settlement from the Oklahoma City Council. Dubois-Coyne, suffered a broken arm when police arrested him at a concert afterparty for a ‘Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival‘ stop, early Aug. 8, 2014, at the Downtown Airpark.

The drummer was charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer. According to a report on the settlement filed by NewsOK Dubois-Coyne was among those chanting ‘fuck the police’ and singing the lyrics of Body Count‘s “Cop Killer” after watching the police arrest another individual.

"I felt this was beginning to incite actions against us and we were easily outnumbered by the crowd," one officer wrote in a crime report.

The arresting officer, Kenneth Lile, reported he first tried to calm Dubois-Coyne down and explained officers were just trying to help an assault victim. He reported Dubois-Coyne leaned in and yelled, "Fuck you, kill 'em all!"

The officer reported he had to take Dubois-Coyne to the ground because the drummer was resisting being handcuffed. "I got him up and he said his arm was broken. I could see his upper left arm did appear broken," the officer wrote. "The crowd around us began to get unruly."

The officer reported Dubois-Coyne "was yelling profanity, insults and threats towards me and my family." He also stated that the crowd had turned ugly and that he was forced to use his taser on an individual to get back to his police car.

"I could see other officers also making it through the crowd and they covered my back," he wrote.

Dubois-Coyne filed a lawsuit against the city and three police officers in 2016, alleging false arrest and excessive force. The settlement arrives ahead of a jury trial which had been set to begin in January in Oklahoma City federal court. More...

Armstrong Metal Fest 2017 Lineup Revealed

Nestled in the Okanagan valley, the town of Armstrong has become British Columbia's largest mosh pit. Trembling the Rocky Mountains and creating a gathering of metalheads like no other in Western Canada, Armstrong Metalfest - now in its ninth year - returns with a 2017 line up that metal fans from across country will feast on from sunrise till way past sunset on July 14th and 15th at the Hassen Arena.

This year's headliners include Boston's tech death / thrash titans Revocation, Vancouver's ska-metal champions Ninjaspy, Canadian 80's thrash legends Aggression, and the Broken Neck Radio peoples choice winner Golers among many more from across the country. (full list below)

Festival co-founder Jesse Valstar comments: "The team members of West Metal Entertainment poured their sweat and blood into making this year's line up for Armstrong Metalfest the best year yet! A large portion of this year's line up consists of bands who will be releasing albums in 2017. The fact that so many bands in Canada are able to write and record quality material is a real testament to the thriving metal scene we have. The band submission process is a grueling gauntlet of awesomeness, but personally I love every second I dedicate to the brilliant artists of Canadian Metal!

"I am especially excited to have Revocation on this year's edition of Armstrong Metalfest. Their style is hella fitting for the festival and I know they will be well received! Also, their album 'Great Is Our Sin' is fantastic front to back. I'll be front row center screaming my heart out for sure! More...
