Ocean, Salome To Play Show No Mercy Concert

On the heels of "Pantheon Of The Lesser," their second album for Important Records, and subsequent features in Decibel, Metal Maniacs, and Terrorizer, Portland, Maine quartet OCEAN is joining Virginia trio SALOME (featuring members of AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED) for a night of epic doom February 15 at Brooklyn, New York's Public Assembly (formerly Galapagos) as part of the third installment of Pitchfork's monthly SHOW NO MERCY Showcase. (The first two events were headlined by Nachtmystium/Velnius and Skeletonwitch/Cannabis Corpse, respectively.)

OCEAN and SALOME will be joined by Boston riff rockers RIFF CANNON and Brooklyn's own icy minimalist doom crew BATILLUS. Future SHOW NO MERCY events will include Tombs, Crucifier, Wetnurse, Krieg, and Krallice, among others.

Each month, artist SELDON HUNT (Neurosis, Khanate, Jesu, Isis, etc.) will create original SHOW NO MERCY flyer designs. The series is organized by BRANDON STOSUY, who writes Pitchfork's monthly metal column, SHOW NO MERCY.

Krallice's Debut Album Available Online

The debut album heeding from the black metal vision of guitar wizard Mick Barr (Ocrilim, Orthrelm) and Colin Marston (Behold...The Arctopus, Dysrhythmia, Byla, Indricothere, etc.) is now available exclusively via the Profound Lore website a few weeks before its official release.

The Krallice debut album is a virulent vision from the twisted and unique minds of Barr and Marston. The band also features Bloody Panda drummer Lev Weinstein. Epic time-stretching hymns that take reference from Weakling's "Dead As Dreams," Burzum's "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" masterpiece, Gorgoroth's "Antichrist," and Ulver's "Nattens Madrigal," while incorporating Barr and Marston's musical pedigree from their respective acts, Krallice has nevertheless created a distinct-sounding opus that helps to strengthen and augment the landscape of North American black metal.

The tracklisting for the Krallice album goes as follows:

1. Wretched Wisdom
2. Cnestorial
3. Molec Codices
4. Timehusk
5. Energy Chasms
6. Forgiveness In Rot

You can check out an MP3 of "Wretched Wisdom" on the MP3 section of Profound Lore's website.

Krallice Completes Debut Album

New York’s KRALLICE, the black metal outfit masterminded by guitar genius Mick Barr (OCRILIM, ORTHRELM etc.) and technical music wizard Colin Marston (BEHOLD… THE ARCTOPUS, DYSRHYTHMIA, BYLA, etc.), has completed work on their debut album.

The labels states in a press release: "In what will become one of the most cursed releases in the realm of black metal this year, the vision conjured up by Barr and Marston is an overwhelming amalgam of epic time-stretching visceral black metal that recalls the spirit brought forth with such acts as Burzum (first three albums), Weakling, Gorgoroth (particularly the “Antichrist” album), Ulver (particularly “Nattens Madrigal”) with of course the musical wizardry that Barr and Marston are known to portray with their prolific repertoire as its known, throughout the many circles within progressive and experimental music in which said musicians dwell within."

"Although Krallice does present a new voice for Barr and Marston (especially seeing that they pretty much dabble within instrumental music), Krallice not only adds to their prolific repertoire, but also strengthens it. With its layered, tremolo weaving, hypnotic and twisted guitar (dis)harmonics, vicious use of melody, elongated time-structures and Barr’s unique cavermous harsh wails, the debut Krallice album is a massive and surging work of demented unforgiving black metal art."

The tracklisting for the debut Krallice album is as follows:

1. Wretched Wisdom
2. Cnestorial
3. Molec Codicies
4. Timehusk
5. Energy Chasms
6. Forgiveness In Rot

Look for the Krallice album to officially be released late July and an MP3 to be posted online very soon.
