Rose Funeral Streaming New Album Title Track

Stereokiller is currently streaming the title track off "Gates of Punishment," the new full-length album from Cincinnati, OH metal act Rose Funeral. Check out the track by navigating here.

"Gates of Punishment" includes guest vocal appearances from Kate Alexander and Steve Tucker (ex-Morbid Angel) and will see release on September 27th, 2011 through Metal Blade Records.

Vocalist/guitarist Ryan Gardner adds, "We had the greatest time recording Gates of Punishment. It is definitely a HUGE step for Rose Funeral. I can honestly say this album just crushes any release we have done. We are looking to turn heads and drop jaws with this album. Gates of Punishment is filled with intense blasts, fast paced solos, melodic harmonies, dark chords, pissed off vocals, and harsh breakdowns. This is the sound I have been searching for with Rose Funeral, and I couldn't be happier. All I can say is that with the guys I have, it will be a huge climb in sound every album from now on."

The track listing is as follows:

1. Legions of Ruination
2. Grotesque Indulgence
3. Beyond the Entombed
4. False Divine (feat. Steve Tucker)
5. Arise Infernal Existence
6. Malignant Amour (feat. Kate Alexander)
7. A Recreant Canticle
8. The Desolate Form

"It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Viatrophy are splitting up. Gurneet has decided he no longer wants to continue with the band and wants to concentrate on a degree and different career path. As he and I were the main writing force, we unfortunately cannot physically go on any longer as a band. The tour dates on our page will be our FINAL tour. Merch will be ridiculously cheap and I will quite possibly cry. Book tickets early! The rest of us are as bummed as you. Thank you for all the good times. Thank you to everyone who came to a show, partied with us, gave us a place to crash, bought some shirts or a CD. To those who downloaded it, well… that doesn’t matter any more does it... Thanks I guess." More...

NEMHF 2009 Adds Third Stage

The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will introduce an additional stage this year dedicated to up and coming bands.

The third stage, sponsored by Deathcote Records, will be located at Chasers Nightclub, located behind the Palladium on the corner of Martin Luther King and Commercial streets. The main festival will be taking place at the Palladium.

“There are so many great bands and not enough time to get all of them on during the course of two days,” said festival co-organizer Sott Lee. “Adding a third stage is a great way for us to showcase some of the developing bands and it’s a terrific opportunity for these bands to play alongside some of today’s top metal and hardcore bands.”

The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will take place on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, with the Atticus pre-party on Thursday, April 16. This year’s event is presented by Randall Amplifiers, Washburn Guitars and Eden Electronics. Metal Blade Records will present the main stage. Prosthetic Records will present the second stage.

The Atticus-sponsored pre-party will be a unique event that will be combining film and music, kicking off with a screening of official film sponsor Anchor Bay's film "Crowley," co-written by none other than Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The provocative supernatural thriller is the tale of a virtual reality experiment gone wrong, sending the soul of the British occultist Aleister Crowley into the body of a shy university professor. But even as Crowley creates all-new orgies of depraved pleasures and black magic, he is now preparing to unleash the ultimate occult event upon the world. Also showing is "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," a sometimes revealing, sometimes hilarious documentary about the legendary Canadian metal band. The movie follows best friends Robb Reiner and Lips as they make a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, hailed as the "demi-gods of Canadian metal, " influenced a musical generation that includes Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, despite never hitting the big time. Following a calamitous European tour, Lips and Robb, now in their fifties, set off to record their 13th album in one last attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams. The film will be followed by a performance by the band itself. The pre-party will also be held at the Palladium. Admission is free with a weekend pass or $15 for non-ticket holders.

Prices this year are $40 for Friday, $45 for Saturday or $79 for a 2-day ticket that also includes free admission to the kick off party on Thursday. Tickets are available at all Strawberries, FYE Stores, online at tickets.com or by calling (800) 477-6849. Tickets are available now.

Bands scheduled to perform this year include: More...

Woe of Tyrants Debuts New Music Video

Ohio's Woe of Tyrants are currently debuting their video for "Break the Fangs of the Wicked" at this location. The video was directed by Jake Beemer with Siege Media and filmed at the Majestic Theatre in Chillicothe, OH.

Vocalist Chris Catanzaro explains the video and its concept, "We were very honored to have the opportunity to work with Jake and the crew of Siege Media on our first video for the new record, 'Kingdom of Might.' The song is entitled 'Break the Fangs of the Wicked,' and despite being one of our most popular live songs, Fangs was chosen due to the fact that it successfully culminates the diversity and overall theme of the entire record. The video was shot in our hometown of Chillicothe, OH at the legendary Majestic Theater. We were fortunate enough to have some close, and very talented, friends come out to serve as the performers in the video. The storyline follows the song in that the song is about rising above negativity and evil and going back to square one in our love for our fellow person. We felt this was an important message to convey amidst a genre that speaks death almost constantly, and thanks to the professionalism of the crew we are very confident that it is going to turn out even better than we initially expected!"
