Månegarm Posts New Music Video

Earlier this year Swedish pagan metallers Månegarm released their album "Legions of the North" on Napalm Records.

Månegarm has completed work on a video for the song "Sons of War." The video is now available below courtesy of Noisecreep. The band commented on the video:

"At the shimmering break of dawn a battle was fought in a land far north... 'Sons of War' is our brand new video taken from our album Legions of the North. The video was shot in the surroundings of the small town Gärdsjö in Sweden by Fredrik Agne' (Fragutopia production) and as you can see we also got some great help from the Viking reenactment group Gärdsjöriddarna (knights of Gärdsjö).

"Among lots of cool stuff, they had built their own Viking house in the exact same way that our ancestors built em'; with logs, peat and wooden bolts and bricks! So unite brothers and sisters and join our Northern sons as they fight an epic battle on the great plains of Vigrid..." More...

Heidenwahn Festival Pushed Back To 2014

The 2013 edition of the Heidenwahn Festival - which was to include a lineup featuring Manegarm, Fejd, Adorned Brood, and more - has now been cancelled and is being pushed back to a later date in 2014. The organizers of the festival comment:

"Through several problems we delay the Under The Banner of the Black Light Festival & Heidenwahn Winter Festival to 2014. The Festivals are not canceled, just delayed. All ordered tickets are valid for 2014. We try that all bands from the festivals will play in 2014 too (Gehenna, Archgoat & Throne of Katarsis too).

"We sent already a information to all bands, we hope that you have got it. It was a hard decision for us, but through personal problems and business-problems (through the cancellation from Gehenna, Throne of Katarsis & Archgoat exploited our calculation for the fest) it was the right decision.

"Sorry for this delay, but we try to arrange professional Festivals for 2014! In the next days we can release the new dates."

Dew-Scented Confirmed For Summer Breeze

This year's Summer Breeze festival will be taking place from August 16th - 18th, with full details available at the festival's website here. The organizers of Summer Breeze have now issued the following announcement about confirming new bands:

"Since the release of their amazing breakthrough album 'Inwards', Dew-Scented have been at the forefront of European thrash metal. Since then, the cool bunch led by frontman Leif Jensen have been producing fantastic albums full of unstoppable riff power and overwhelming intensity at nicely regular intervals, cementing the band's excellent reputation time and again. In 2012, Dew-Scented aim at kick-starting their career with an entirely new line-up – with the exception of band boss Leif – and the fantastic new album 'Icarus', and are gearing up to shatter the Summer Breeze Open Air into small pieces. We are stoked to welcome the indestructible machine called Dew-Scented at our festival once more. Get thrashed!

"When Agrypnie played the Summer Breeze festival in 2008 for the first and only time so far, they were booked as consolation for all those who were mourning the recent disbanding of Nocte Obducta. Four years, one studio album and one EP later, the Hessians have made a career for themselves, having now reached the same level as the aforementioned group. Their new studio album is still being recorded as we speak, but their last EP 'Asche' was already an announcement for big things to come in the realm of post black metal. Expressive, multi-faceted, melancholic, dynamic – all these attributes fit Agrypnie like a glove and are underlined by the fact that their songs don't ever become predictable or interchangable. One of the most exciting bands our scene has to offer nowadays."

Månegarm Splits With Violin Player

Sweden's Månegarm has issued the following announcement about splitting with the band's violin player:

"Due to lack of motivation, violin player Janne Liljekvist will leave MÅNEGARM on permanent basis. It's of course unfortunate after almost 15 years together, but it's also an unsustainable situation if 1 out of 5 can't find the motivation and put the effort into the band that is needed to move forward.

"However; MÅNEGARM will definitely move on as planned and this will have no impact on our music at all.

"The work with the new album goes on as planned and we can promise you that it will be a killer! The mighty wolf WILL strike again, this time harder than ever before!"

Manegarm Comments On Jotunheim Cancellation

The organizers of Croatia's Jotunheim festival recently issued a statement about the 2010 edition of the festival being canceled due to pressure from an anti-fascist group. Sweden's Manegarm was scheduled to appear at the festival and has now issued the following comment about the cancellation:

"Manegarm will not appear in Croatia the 19th of June, due to a total cancellation of the Jotunheim Festival. We all think that this is very unfortunate since we really were looking forward to meet the Croatian crowd. We still hope to see you all in Croatia in the nearest future!"

Jotunheim Festival Canceled

The 2010 edition of the Jotunheim festival was scheduled to feature bands such as Thyrfing, Manegarm, Vreid, and more. The Jotunheim organizers have now issued the following statement about canceling the festival:

"We must inform you that we have unfortunately been forced to cancel the first edition of Jotunheim Festival! Jotunheim Festival is canceled due to apparent pressure from Antifa who believed that the line-up included bands that advocated fascism or were affiliated with fascistic political movements. This was completely untrue, with not a single band having ever expressed such political sympathies (if any), only pride in their heritage (though of course, any such display immediately gets Antifa up in arms anyway). Nor was there any statement made on behalf of the festival that specified any particulars about who could and could not attend, certainly not on racial grounds.

"Because of the Antifa groups, Northwind Promotion declines to do concerts and festivals in Croatia, and in the future will be focused on the external market where there are no organizations that will charge based on nonexistent facts. For a refund of the tickets, please contact us by e-mail info@jotunheim-festival.com."
