Vreid Announces Norwegian Shows

Vreid has issued the following update about a string of Norwegian headlining shows in February of 2011 with support from Iskald and The Batallion:

"We are exited to announce a Norwegian headliner tour in February. 5 shows will take place in the period of 17th - 25th February. Support will come from our good friends The Batallion and Iskald. Check out dates / poster and more info at the front page. See you on the road in 2011."

Enslaved Announces Three Norwegian Shows

Enslaved will do three Norwegian shows Thursday September 3rd and Saturday 5th. The band asks for your understanding for relaying the news this late; the last month has been insane for them. The dates are as follows:

Sept. 3 Kongsberg, NO - Energimølla
Sept. 4 Haugesund, NO - Karmøygeddon Artic Festival, Byscenen
Sept. 5 Stavanger, NO - Folken

Support in Stavanger will be provided by Norwegian brothers in arms Vreid and The Batallion. In Kongsberg support will be provided by Inquested.

The Batallion Brought Onto Inferno Festival

Yet another band will be appearing at the Inferno Festival, with The Batallion having been brought on to play at the event after headliners Meshuggah were forced to pull out.

The Batallion's New Album Ready To Be Unleashed

The Batallion, the band consisting of past and current members of Old Funeral, Grimfist, Taake, Bömbers and Borknagar, is ready to unleash hell upon the world. The album "The Stronghold of Men" will be released through Dark Essence Records in Norway on March 17 and worldwide on April 21.

The album was recorded and mixed in Conclave Studios and produced by Bart Schlegermeister and contain 11 tracks of "kick-ass old-school thrash metal." The album features guest vocals by none other than Abbath (Immortal), who is also a big fan of the band.

Tracks from the upcoming The Batallion album, "Stronghold of Men," can be previewed on Last.fm. You can also download the song "The Spirit of Masculinity" for free from the same page and stream their music from MySpace.
