World Under Blood Unleashes New Video

World Under Blood has released the official video for the track "Into the Arms of Cruelty," which comes from the band's 2011 debut outing on Nuclear Blast Records, "Tactical." Guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller had the following to say about the video's anti-child abuse stance:

"Violence towards children is an appalling, disgusting and unfortunately a rampant occurrence amongst millions of households." states Deron Miller. "World Under Blood will always campaign to bring harsh reality straight to your senses, no matter how ugly and offensive, to bring awareness to its existence. Any misunderstanding that we condone any kind of despicable behavior like the variety found in this music video is false and idiotic."

World Under Blood Posts Final Track Breakdown

Deron Miller, guitarist/vocalist of World Under Blood, has posted the third and final track-by-track description of the band’s debut record, "Tactical." You can find the track descriptions below, or head over to the previously posted second segment of the series here.

7. I CAN'T STAND HIS NAME

Everybody has someone they can't stand. Upon getting to know this song people will believe that "HIS NAME" is Jesus Christ. Not necessarily, as I certainly had someone else is mind. But if you want to think it's a stab at Jesus, go ahead. Organized religion has stupified and brainwashed so many people all over the world to the point where they would die for it. Even worse, they preach and try to force their beliefs on other people who just happen to be intelligent enough not to buy into it. I believe that death is death and that is that, so live your life the way you want without bringing harm to others until you're gone...just like you were before you were born. World Under Blood is surely not anti-faith, but I purposely can't stand people who preach. Either way, that's not "who" or "what" I had in mind anyway. A pretty brutal track, the bridge is a surprise and I love how the kick drums get faster and faster. cool shit for sure.

8. REVERE'S TEARS

George Revere was a genius doctor who had privately discovered a treatment for most forms of cancer in his basement, while his wife suffered from the disease. He administered her treatment, and she went into immediate remission when suddenly George was found dead in his home. Murdered. You can't find him on the internet, you can't even google the guy. He has pretty much disappeared along with his wife, Estelle who hasn't been heard from in years. The perfect song to "end" the album...Revere's Tears is based upon the theory that if you do discover a cure for cancer, you will either be privately bought out, or killed. I think it's interesting that we've been collecting a lot of money through charities for years, and we have yet to cure anything, from the cold, to A.I.D.S, diabetes, cancer, warts...you name it. But we're always "so close" aren't we? I wrote this song with CKY's Jess Margera about 12 years ago, and i always thought it would have been great as the 9th track on Gorguts' "The Erosion of Sanity," which is one of my favorite records of all time. It's changed a lot since Jess and I wrote it...killer bridge section.

9. WAKE UP DEAD (MEGADETH COVER)

One of the only cover songs that Tim Yeung and I knew from start to finish, and I'm thankful for that because it's one of my favorite songs ever written. Even though Dave Mustaine mentally hasn't been aging well lately, Wake Up Dead is his masterpiece. It defies all typical style of song arrangement and happens to be one of his biggest accomplishments when trying to get revenge on Metallica. The Master of Puppets album is a masterpiece from start to finish, but this song off of Peace Sells is a huge "fuck you" to his former bandmates. Its a classic thrash song, and I hope if and when he hears it, he enjoys our rendition of it. Luke nails Chris Poland's solo perfectly note for note. James Murphy plays Mustaine's parts with his own style. I was too scared to even go there.

The track list for "Tactical" is as follows:

1. A God Among The Waste
2. Into The Arms Of Cruelty
3. Pyro-Compulsive
4. Dead And Still In Pain
5. Purgatory Dormitory
6. Under The Autumn Low
7. I Can't Stand His Name
8. Revere's Tears (with intro)
9. Wake Up Dead (bonus track MEGADETH cover song)
10. Alliance Or War (iTunes exclusive MALEVOLENT CREATION cover song)

World Under Blood Posts Second Track Breakdown

Deron Miller, the guitarist/vocalist World Under Blood, has released the second part of the track-by-track description for the band's debut album, "Tactical." You can find the second part below, or head over to the first part here. "Tactical" is due out on July 26th (North America) and July 29th, 2011 (Europe).

4. DEAD AND STILL IN PAIN

The first official World Under Blood song written and probably the most accessible. It got a tremendous reaction when it was streamed on MySpace in 2006. I was really happy with it and was excited to forge ahead and see what else we would come up with for a full-length album. Lyrically it hits close to home because it's about depression and extreme anxiety and just not knowing what to do with yourself or where to turn. The ending riff, to me, is really sad. After that long ass scream it feels like the song ends on a sad note, which I'm very fond of. Tim Yeung plays the keyboards at the end, and I believe the bass at the end too.

5. PURGATORY DORMITORY

This was the last song written for Tactical and when i heard the demo i was worried that it was going to be the album's only throwaway track. Once we laid it down for the record, it turned into one of my favorites. It's about numbing every nerve in a criminal's body, blinding and deafening them, and leaving them with just their brain... to think and to suffer. What would that be like? I think that we should experiment on rapists and murderers and find out all the things we've ever wanted to know about the human body...much like the medical field experiments on rats and other animals. We could correct and cure a lot of diseases and problems if we started using worthless humans as the subjects. Non-stop speed and brutality. not much melody this time. fine with me.

6. UNDER THE AUTUMN LOW

The 2nd song we wrote, and the ruff mix ended up on MySpace. Some people, such as myself have something called S.A.D...."seasonal affective disorder"....mine has hit me every other year from August until December since I was 19. Basically , these people get severely depressed during a certain season, usually autumn. Many have problems during winter as well. I'm very proud of the riffs and arrangements in this song and I love the trade off of solos between me and James Murphy. I've been dreaming of trading off with Murphy since i was 11, and this song made it happen. The funny thing is, I am no lead guitarist, but I pull of some pretty cool licks. I also dig the scream at the end, no tricks, no pro-tools or punch in's...It really is that long. Tim's fills and drumming on this one are just out of fucking control and amazing.

World Under Blood Posts Track Breakdown

Guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller of the West Coast act World Under Blood has released the first part of the track-by-track description for the band's debut album, "Tactical." The track breakdown can be read below. "Tactical" is due out on July 26th in North America and July 29th in Europe.

1. A GOD AMONG THE WASTE

A fan favorite, this was one of the first songs we wrote. I remember doing the vocals with Logan Mader engineering and I had the lyrics, but no vocal pattern or melody ideas. We pressed 'record' and that's what happened. I wanted it to start the record off because it just kicks in with the fastest blast on the whole cd and the song ends very mellow. there's a lot of dynamics. the bridge riff reminds me a lot of DEATH's Spiritual Healing. Lyrically its pretty much about finding a legitimate political leader, and finally cleaning up the U.S. When will we finally be desensitized as a nation to political correctness and just do what needs to be done?

2. INTO THE ARMS OF CRUELTY

Probably my favorite song off of the album. I think it's one of the most perfect songs I've ever written. Child abuse makes me fucking sick and this song pretty much gives my unrestrained opinion. A lot of people enjoy claiming that metal is the most evil form of music, but actually it's the only genre that artists tend to explore serious subject matter, and try to take a stance against things they believe are not right. The opening riff is one of the hardest riffs to play on guitar, and I shot myself in the foot when I wrote it because no matter how much I practice it, it doesn't get any easier. Out of 20 years of songwriting this song is in my top 5. Killer drumming and awesome solos.

3. PYRO-COMPULSIVE

I'm obsessed with mental illness, and I love to learn and explore that field in my music. The idea of someone lusting over lighting their house on fire while they're inside sounds like a stretch, but I bet there's someone out there that enjoys being burnt. Incidentally, this track has the most difficult to play riff that I've ever come up with, and it is the chorus riff. It's a fucking bitch, but it's hooky as hell. Unlike a lot of bands out there I don't try to write complicated music for the sake of it because i think in the end there really isn't a song there. But a lot of metal bands can write technical parts that are also catchy, and I learned that from Gorguts, Pestilence, Death, Cynic, and Believer...in 1993. Luke Jaeger's solos are incredible, and although he's extremely eccentric, he's an amazing friend and extremely gifted.

World Under Blood Reveals Album Artwork

West Coast outfit World Under Blood has revealed the track list and artwork for its upcoming debut album "Tactical," which is set for release on July 26th via Nuclear Blast Records. World Under Blood is the creation of CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller and extreme metal drummer Tim Yeung (Divine Heresy, Morbid Angel, ex-Hate Eternal, ex-Decrepit Birth).

Artwork for the debut release was brought to life by the twisted mind of Pär Olofsson (Immortal, The Faceless, Abysmal Dawn). Guitarist-turned-producer James Murphy (Death, Testament), who worked on "Tactical," previously stated about the project, “World Under Blood bridges a gap between genres that has never been bridged...a few have tried with mixed results, but this is the first real resounding success off using brutal, blasting death metal with a melodic American rock vibe and it opens a door that will turn into a floodgate.”

World Under Blood Posts New Song Online

World Under Blood has uploaded the track “A God Among the Waste” to the band's official Facebook page. Head over to this location to check out the new track. The song comes from the band's upcoming debut album entitled "Tactical," which is set for release on July 26th (North America) and July 29th (Europe).

Commented guitarist/vocalist and mastermind of the project Deron Miller: "’A God Among the Waste’, to me is an instant classic because it melts your face right at the start and then concludes with an opposing mellow ending. I'm told it has a great chorus and it's the first time I’ve recorded a guitar solo in 15 years. The first 8 or so seconds are the fastest the album ever gets and because of that, I made it the album opener so people are brutalized as soon as they press play. No bullshit intros or scary gothic synths; it just gets going faster than you can probably handle it.”

World Under Blood is the melodic tech-death band of CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller. The full line-up is as follows:

Deron Miller – guitar, vocals (CKY)
Tim Yeung – drums (Divine Heresy, Morbid Angel, ex-HATE ETERNAL, ex-DECREPIT BIRTH)
Risha Eryavac – bass (ex-Decrepit Birth)
Luke Jaeger – guitar (Sleep Terror)

World Under Blood Finishes New Album

World Under Blood, the melodic death metal side project featuring CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller alongside Tim Yeung on drums, Risha Eryavec on bass, and Luke Jaeger on guitar, has finished the recording process for their debut album for Nuclear Blast titled "Tactical." The record is tentatively due out sometime in the Summer of 2010.

Deron Miller commented: “Tracking for our first record for Nuclear Blast is complete! I flew out to James Murphy's home studio to track the rest of the vocals and it was a very gratifying experience. I was in total awe of his vinyl collection and his cat Sasha, but most of all I was enamored by the professionalism and discipline he instilled during these sessions that really put me in my place. James really brought out the best in me and having only had 2 producers in my entire career, I can say that I'm lucky to be continually working with James Murphy and Chad Ginsburg. I've realized that in the end, the only way to have a top-notch producer with an amazing ear is to be working with someone who has a musical history and a musical ability themselves. Not just some overpaid name/reputation dude that leaves Post-It notes on Pro-Tools monitors. Those days are over.

"The goal for the 8 original tunes that ended up on this album was that they would all be super fast, extremely brutal and harsh, catchy, melodic, and occasionally offensive & disturbing. I also had to make sure that the entire band was satisfied with their work. Tim Yeung is easily the most impressive drummer in the world. He thinks that some kid is going to come along and dethrone him speed-wise but as far as writing, arrangements, creative input and immediate knowledge of song structure he will never be beat. It's like the guy can read my mind. I present a somewhat intricate song to him and 50 minutes later we're demoed and done. Luke Jaeger flew through his solos in less than 8 hours. Murphy and I were thinking the same thing, ‘these solos have to be incredible and memorable’, not just finger flailing virtuoso garbage . He nailed them all. I wanted the best musicians for the job and i think we got it. More...

World Under Blood Announces Album Track List

Deron Miller of death metal act World Under Blood has issued the following update about the band's new album:

"Hi... Tonight i have finalized the song titles for our first album! I have finished the lyrics for all of the songs; I have a decent idea for what I am going to do vocally next week. Some of what I have done is pretty disturbing, but i am satisfied. I fly out to Tampa tomorrow to meet up with the legendary Mr. Murphy to complete this album once and for all!

"This album is brutal. These days, a lot of bands are judged by their technicality, and often that is seen as 'heavier.' I agree to an extent, but the only problem is that the more technical a band is lately, the more that specific "song" loses. We could have done a record that was 20 notes per second, because every member of world under blood is capable of that. But on this record, we pretty much said 'lets make sure the songs are amazing' I know they are. I have made sure and will make sure that they all turn out the way they were meant to be and certainly nothing less.

"My only regret is that i mentioned this project too prematurely. Some of you have been waiting for this since as early as November 2006. Back then i was very ambitious and i expected to have it out in due time...Apparently in November 2006 i believed that there were many more hours than 24 in a single day. Plain and simple, i was excited to release a metal record. Finally, this is the track listing, but not in order."

1. Dead and still in pain
2. Under the autumn low
3. A god among the waste
4. Pyro-compulsive
5. I can't stand his name
6. Into the arms of cruelty
7. Revere's tears
8. Purgatory dormitory
9. Wake up dead
10. Alliance or war...(bonus)

World Under Blood Issues Album Update

World Under Blood, the melodic death metal side project featuring CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller alongside Tim Yeung (Divine Heresy) on drums, Risha Eryavec (ex-Decrepit Birth) on bass, and Luke Jaeger (ex-Sleep Terror) on guitar, recently signed to Nuclear Blast Records. Deron Miller has now issued the following update about the band's upcoming album:

"Hey, just finishing up lyrics for a few of the songs. They're turning out great. I started writing them weeks ago, and I realized that the work I was doing was awful, so I scrapped them all and got re-focused. I'm very satisfied now. the 3 tentative WUB titles I have right now are 'Revere's Tears' about a guy that discovers the cure for cancer, is found dead, but then returns of course. 'I Can't Stand His Name,' and 'Purgatory Dormitory' are the others and i cant wait until this record comes out. 'Knife Beats Gun' and 'Stab Happy' are long gone...they were drunken concepts haha.

"I've been listening to the new Overkill CD A LOT and the song 'Ironbound' has been on repeat since i got it. you have to go get this record its fucking amazing. the best metal record of the last decade for sure. I talked to Risha and he is doing well. His personal problems are ironed out...he is still with us. I'm flying to Florida on the 28th to finish this album. it will be done tracking on march 5th so help me god. I guarantee nothing but my best always."

Deron Miller commented on the on the signing:

“I’m thrilled to finally be working with Nuclear Blast after all of these years of being a huge fan of their bands. The band is currently wrapping up their as-yet-untitled debut, produced by James Murphy. The record is tentatively slated for a Summer release.

Deron Miller On His Fallout With CKY And New Band

Deron Miller of CKY fame has posted some updates on his current situation. In regards to last years' fallout with CKY, he had the following to say:

"I'm still waiting on some news myself. when i say i know nothing, that means i really know...nothing. i have not heard from anyone at all since that st. lois show when that shit went down. i have tried to get in touch with those guys but they are not ready to speak to me as they are still understandably pissed off at me. its frustrating for everyone but for me it especially sucks because i am no longer that person that caused that trouble. in any event i hope we can finally finish the masterpiece that we started and get out touring again. thats all i can say."

For the moment, Miller is working on his death metal band, World Under Blood, about which he had the following to say:

"the big news
the time has come to head back into the studio in early april and lay down 4 new WUB tracks. the 4 of us are really amped on the last song i wrote, i think it'll end up being the best one i've ever written in my life. there's also one thats pretty fast, in fact i'm thinking maybe its a bit too fast...which means its perfect. we're also going to do some covers...the definite one we're doing is megadeth's "wake up dead" which we all agree to be one of the best metal songs of all time.
to be honest, this wasnt the big news...but you'll know soon enough.
exciting times.
deron"
