Anew Revolution Begins Writing New Album

Texan hard rock band, Anew Revolution, has issued the following update regarding the closing of their tour and beginning of writing their new album:

"So we end this final run for 'Rise' on high note with a writing/recording session with Producer Skidd Mills in Memphis, TN and it was an enlightening and eye-opening experience to say the least. Throughout this last headline tour we were anxious to start writing and recording the new album but ironically once we hit Memphis, we actually had a little writers block but with the help of Skidd he got the ball rolling on solid note. We wrote a song called 'Head against the wall' and let's just say it kills! Now we get to focus our time and energy this summer to continue what we started and write a killer record!! Expect a darker, more aggressive & intense album, and we will have alot more to say about everything going around us today. We also intend to include all of you in the process leading all the way to the release of album 2 (which we don't know when it will be released yet ;) we will reach out to you for feedback, suggestions and even through contests...so be attentive!" Anew Revolution Post New Music Online

ANEW REVOLUTION, the Austin-based foursome which has been steadily building a name for itself within the metal community, has posted two songs from its upcoming debut album, "Rise", on the band's MySpace page. Check out the tracks "Done" and "N.M.E." at this location.

"Rise" is scheduled for releease on April 15 via Koch Records. An eleven-track album which includes the anthemic call-to-arms title track, "Rise", the introspective song "Let Go" and a cover of NEW ORDER's "True Faith", has already turned heads at radio, with 101X's music director Toby Ryan saying, "ANEW REVOLUTION combined compelling and intelligent music, with hooks bigger than Tom Cruise's psychosis." Another early supporter is WJJO, whose music director Ozz added, "ANR constantly get requested on JJO and they’ve proven to be a viable headliner in this market. These guys are for real." More...

Otep To Headline The Circus Of Democracy Tour

As previously reported, KOCH Records recording artist OTEP is set to hit the road, headlining a new tour to promote its latest album, "The Ascension." The Circus of Democracy Tour will be presented by Hot Topic and will also feature Creature Feature, Eyes Set To Kill and KOCH recording artist Anew Revolution.

About naming the tour The Circus of Democracy, frontwoman Otep Shamaya states, “This is one of those amazingly emotional and inspirational seasons that comes rarely (even once) in a lifetime. It can disappear as quickly as it came if we do not reach out (with both hands) and grab it. Our nation is trapped in 2 wars, our economy is slowly sliding into recession, gas prices are obscenely high, the environment is in chaos, the working class is losing ground, our healthcare system is in shambles, but now we, as citizens, have the opportunity to be involved in a life saving effort for our nation. Never before have there been so many people inspired to take ownership of their country. We've seen what happens when citizens do nothing; elections can be stolen, wars can be launched, & oligarchs can swell their pockets with our national treasures. So as part of our mission to help provoke people into action, I've named the tour The Circus of Democracy. We want people informed, inspired, and involved and to remind them they have the power to change the course of history. All around us the energy is swelling. It feels like we are on the verge of a new American Revolution, only this time waged with thought and spirit rather than guns and cannons.”

The band’s new single, “Perfectly Flawed,” will impact at Active/Modern Rock Radio on April 8th. In addition, the new video for the song “Confrontation” debuted on MTV2’s Headbangers’ Ball last weekend.

On May 6th, 2008 ITunes will be releasing two tracks that were previously only available on special versions of "The Ascension." The tracks are “Special Pets” and “Perfectly Flawed.”

To date, OTEP has sold over 400,000 units, and continues its success with "The Ascension."
