Background

Skumlove came to be in Los Angeles about 10 years ago. Mixing all different types of music together, ranging from metal, to industrial, to punk and electronic. With a little bit of hair dye, and his perseverance Skum (vocals) set out to make a name for himself. He did just that, and with a little help from Robyn Sin( guitars), Frank Mercurio and at one point Dino Cazares ( from Fear Factory) was in the band. Without any help Skumlove managed to sell 7,000+ cd’s on their own. They’ve toured with everyone from Danzig, Hatebreed, Fear Factory, Godhead, Spineshank and that’s just to name a few.

Great Falls Gets A Dose Of Evil Disco

It isn’t often that a town like Great Falls gets a big name band playing anything even remotely close to metal, with country and contemporary being the dominant musical genres in the area. The metal fans of Montana arrived in force on May 11th at the Civic Center Mansfeld Convention building to show their support of the scene and let Static-X know that Great Falls can be just as valid a tour stop as any bigger city. Playing alongside the kings of “evil disco” were Skumlove, My Evolution, and the newly formed Seventh Void, which features two Type O Negative members.

All of the various news outlets, from the band’s MySpace pages to the record label press releases, stated that the show started at 8:00 PM. Inexplicably they decided to start up a half an hour early so unfortunately openers Skumlove only got a fraction of the crowd to play for. Despite the setback they still played their blend of rock, industrial, and punk with gusto. For those who couldn’t be there, or happened to show up as their set was ending, Skumlove has premiered the new song "Anti-American Idol" exclusively on the Metalunderground MySpace music player. We are doing a Video for the song "I AM YOUR GOD" with Deadpool Prod. to be released on the DVD for the horror movie "INTERMEDIO." It's about a group of four teenage friends become trapped in a Mexican border tunnel where they fall prey, one-by one, to tortured ghosts who haunt it.

Static-X Bassist To Play With Skumlove

Tony Campos (STATIC-X, ASESINO) will be playing bass for SKUMLOVE during their appearance at The Roxy in Hollywood on February 14.

SKUMLOVE will be debuting new songs and a new drummer, BT, at the "Valentine Day Massacre" show, which will also include an appearance by THE DREAMING (featuring former STABBING WESTWARD frontman Chris Hall). SKUMLOVE were hoping to find the perfect bassist as well, but when things didn't turn out the way they expected, Campos stepped up to fill the void.

"Tony's been a friend and a fan for along time." said vocalist Skum, "He asked if we had a bassist yet and asked if he could do some shows and I'd be stupid to say no!"

Tony is not a permanent member of SKUMLOVE and the band stress that they are still auditioning bassists.
