Born of Osiris and Unearth are currently on their co-headlining tour across the United States, joined by The Contortionist, Obey the Brave, and Wolves at the Gate. A teaser trailer for the tour is now online and can be viewed below.
The upcoming dates for the trek are as follows: More...
Born of Osiris will cap off 2012 with a co-headlining tour alongside Unearth starting November 1st. The month-long trek also features The Contortionist, Obey The Brave, and Wolves At The Gate. The group is also close to completing the songwriting process for the follow-up to "The Discovery" album and will enter the studio in the spring with Nick Sampson to track the new effort.
Born of Osiris is excited to announce the band's return to Europe on February 22nd with After The Burial, Monuments, and The Haarp Machine. Details are available below.
Lee McKinney (guitars) states: “I would say the direction of this album is along the lines of The Discovery, but definitely a lot heavier and a lot more focused when it comes to song structure. We're trying to give each song a powerful, thematic feel. This next record takes all of the best aspects of The Discovery and develops the ideas even further. We already have so much material that we plan on revising and refining over the next few months. While we do that we will still continue to write more and in the end I think we'll pick the strongest 10-12 songs so we can drop the best Born Of Osiris record to date.
“On March 22nd we start recording the record with Nick Sampson. We're very excited to work with him in the studio. He's a shredder and aside from that a great engineer/producer. Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, Emmure) will be handling the mixing of the project. We felt he was the best for the job since we have a lot of electronic elements in our music and he seems to be the master of all that these days. Not to mention he obviously has insanely tight production and mixing skills. The disc is set for a summer release and we can't wait for everyone to see what we've created.
“In other news, we're heading out this week on our co-headliner with Unearth. It's such an honor to be able to bring them with us on tour. I remember being 16 delivering pizzas blasting The Oncoming Storm in my car. We've toured with them before a couple times as well and they are some of the most fun dudes to be on the road with. Also rounding out the tour is The Contortionist, Obey the Brave and Wolves at the Gate. People can expect to see our longest live set yet. We're playing songs off of The Discovery that we have yet to play on any other tours. Come hang with us!” More...

Having all these bands in the same place on one day is really exciting both as a fan and as a festival producer."

Born Of Osiris, which split with guitarist Jason Richardson earlier this month, has now posted a new official music video online for the track "Follow the Signs." Check out the Andrew Pulaski directed music video in the player below.
Born of Osiris has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:
"To all of our fans and followers, we have decided to part ways with guitarist Jason Richardson. This was something that just needed to happen. We will be a more creative, energized, and focused unit as a result.
"The past year was the band's most successful and we owe it all to our amazing fans. We promise everyone that 2012 will see us take further steps to bringing every aspect of our band to a new level. We couldn't possibly be more excited for what the future holds.
"Also, since the finishing touches were put on The Discovery we've already been in the process of writing our next album. The past month and next two we will be home writing and finalizing the record that will be released this summer/fall.
"Big news coming soon regarding our summer touring schedule, we can't wait to see all of you again soon with some new music to play for you! We will TEMPORARILY be accepting video submissions for the spot at BOOlessons@yahoo.com."
American deathcore act Chelsea Grin has posted the following statement online announcing the departure of Michael Stafford, the band's lead guitarist, from the group.
"Michael Stafford has recently decided that the hectic touring lifestyle is not for him, and among other personal reasons, has decided to step down as the lead guitar player for Chelsea Grin. This may have been obvious to a lot of you as he hasn’t been with us since the All Stars Tour, but he has given us his final decision recently and we must move forward.
"Jason Richardson (Born of Osiris, ex-All Shall Perish) will be filling the position until further notice. Jason is one of the best guitar players around, and with us already being such good friends, he is more than a perfect fit. 2012 is going to be huge for us, so make sure to come out and see the new and improved Chelsea Grin."

The trek is set to run between November 18th and December 18th.

We are going to be back in the U.S. with our good friends Veil of Maya for the first time in years. Not only are they an incredible band, they are some of our closest friends from Chicago. Also on the tour is Carnifex. They are a really heavy band and we can't wait to see what they are all about. Struc/tures and Betraying the Martyrs will be opening up the tour. I sadly arrived late for the show and missed all, but seven of the bands playing. Granted, I've never listened to the openers, since the majority of the bands were hardcore; a scene that I'm familiar with, but not a part of. This lead to an incredibly awkward experience, since I was immersing myself in a completely different culture.
After finishing up an upcoming interview with In This Moment, I entered the Congress Theater to watch Iwrestledabearonce. Having been chafed by Krysta Cameron's rabid parakeet screams when I saw the band play with The Dillinger Escape Plan, I was hoping that she may have improved as a vocalist during the past year on tour. Sadly, she's just as annoying as ever in a live setting, while the actual music remains unfocused, disjointed, and truly unfunny. Comedy metal can indeed work and Iwrestledabearonce should quit it with the funny sound effects and instead move on to having the humor come from their lyrics and stage presence. GWAR and Cannabis Corpse manage to be genuinely funny in an over-the-top way without annoying me because they don't bombard me with cheesy sound effects every ten seconds. It's a shame that Iwrestledabearonce still don’t comprehend taste and only make music for their own amusement instead of that of their highly annoyed audience.
In This Moment were up next and I have to say that ITM put on a great show. Maria's voice simply works better in a live setting than it does in the studio and it's a shame that they went from headlining to only playing five songs after only a few short months. Much like my experience with Warbringer and Job For a Cowboy, In This Moment won me over in the live arena. The fact that they put on such a great performance was sadly probably wasted on playing for a hardcore crowd who didn't appreciate their music, since much of the audience had left the venue during their set.
Next up was For Today, who I'd never listened to before, but managed to put on a good show despite being pretty generic modern hardcore. While the band doesn’t break any new ground or do much to stand out, they don't annoy me as much as most contemporary hardcore does. If I were more into the neo post-hardcore scene, I'd probably give the band a few more listens. Still, they're good for what they are and anyone into contemporary hardcore should give them a shot. Born Of Osiris has announced that the band was denied entry into Canada last night and therefore will be unable to perform alongside August Burns Red on all previously scheduled dates.
Lee McKinney (guitars) further states: “Due to some very unexpected problems at the border, we were unable to cross into Canada. We were forced to turn around and head home and could not be more bummed about this. We are so sorry to everyone who had already bought tickets to the shows in hopes to see us. We were excited to get to play a lot of places we haven't been to before throughout Canada with some great bands. We will try again to make it out to Canada in the near future, and will do everything within our powers to ensure we make it across next time.”
Additional details on rescheduled dates will be announced as they are made available. The band's latest album "The Discovery" also landed on Billboard's Top 200 chart at position #87.
