Severed Crotch To Enter The Studio In September

Iceland's Severed Crotch has issued the following update:

"It has been a pretty good year for Severed Crotch! We have played a lot of great shows including the annual Eistnaflug festival, a show with the Black Dahlia Murder, many local shows and more! Apart from playing live we have been very busy finishing the writing of our debut album and we are finally getting ready to record!"

"The album(title and cover artwork revealed later) will feature 11 tracks. Some songs have been heard on previous recordings and during live performances but there are a couple of songs that will be premiered for the first time. The album will be recorded by Ási (drummer of the icelandic prog-rock band Perla) and co-produced by Severed Crotch. Recording sessions are set to begin in mid September and we couldn't be more excited! As of now there is no label for the release (although we have some offers) but hopefully that will be announced in the coming weeks."

Severed Crotch Post New Song Online

SEVERED CROTCH, which is said to be "one of Iceland's leading metal acts," has posted a new song, "Ecstasy in Death", on the group's MySpace page. This is the second new track that the band has made available following last year's EP "Soul Cremation".

SEVERED CROTCH was formed in Reykjavik four years ago, with most players being under 15 at the time. They soon started playing live and over the years have gained a reputation for their hard-hitting and intense live appearances that have made them a crowd favorite in the local scene. As the band evolved, they shed their traditional death metal roots for a more brutal and technical approach, garnering them a status today as a sheer technical metal beast and certainly one of Iceland's premier metal acts. As a natural choice, the band has opened up for several international acts in Iceland, including AMON AMARTH, SCARVE, URKRAFT, MERCENARY, ROTTING CHRIST, ZERO HOUR, FINNTROLL and, last but certainly not least, CANNIBAL CORPSE, where they played to approximately 600 screaming fans.
