Cerebral Bore Announces New Live Shows

Scottish death metal act Cerebral Bore has announced a number of headlining shows in Spain, starting on May 7th in Barcelona.

The band will be playing five shows during what will be its first visit to Spain, with support from French death metallers Psychobolia. The tour kicks off a week after Cerebral Bore wraps up a mini European tour with Despised Icon.

Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments: "We are happy to say that we are heading to Spain for the first time. For some reason any offer we have ever had to go there hasn't quite worked out, so it will be great to play somewhere new straight after the Despised Icon tour. But it looks like we will be in Europe for a few spare days inbetween… So maybe you will see us added to a particularly awesome show taking place that week too!" More...

Unearthing The Scottish Metal Underground

Every week in Unearthing the Metal Underground, we take a look at three quality bands that haven't gotten as much exposure yet as they should. This week, we will be taking a look at three heavy metal bands from Scotland, since it seemed criminal that we hadn't already. There is currently a tourism commercial airing for the country which opens with the line, "Scotland may surprise you," which is certainly evident in its metal scene, containing everything from traditional thrash metal to pagan black metal, and everything in between.

Cerebral Bore

Another band formed in 2006 is Cerebral Bore, who hail from Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, and perform a brutal brand of death metal that lives up to the harder than nails reputation of the city on the River Clyde. They released their first demo, "The Dead Flesh Architect" in 2006 and soon found themselves garnering attention internationally, making their first trip abroad in August the next year to perform in New York, and have since gone on to perform in many other countries including Russia, India and Israel, as well as supporting some legendary names in extreme metal such as Brutal Truth and Suffocation. In 2010, they signed to Earache Records and released their full length debut, "Maniacal Miscreation," the next year. While touring for the album, the band made headlines when guitarist Paul McGuire and bassist Kyle Rutherford were falsely arrested and jailed in New York on suspicion of murder. The two were released a week later without charge and flown back to Scotland. The band recently released a single entitled, "Horrendous Acts of Iniquity," as well as completing the Summer Slaughter tour which also featured the likes of Cannibal Corpse and Exhumed and will be kicking off a European tour this Friday (September 14th) in Lindau, Germany and last until October 14th.

Cerebral Bore Checks In From Summer Slaughter

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore have been tearing their way around the USA for the past month on the Summer Slaughter tour, sharing the stage with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Job For A Cowboy, Goatwhore, and more.

With the tour coming to an end this week, the band has posted an update from the road, before returning across the Atlantic for an Eastern European trek, followed by a month-long tour with Dying Fetus. Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:

"We are now heading into the last week of Summer Slaughter, and so far it has been a truly awesome experience. We have gotten to know all bands on the tour as well as their crews, and it's gonna be pretty sad when the time comes to part ways. The biggest thing for me personally has been getting to know and tour with the guys from Cannibal Corpse. These guys are my heroes, so there is a lot of room to be disappointed... but they have been amazing. We have gone out drinking with them, they've invited us onto their bus many times, fed us, watered us and supported us by wearing our shirts and watching stage-side. A real dream come true for all of us and we can't thank them enough. It's not over yet though, and we have a bunch of west coast shows still to come - the energy levels are still at max and we are raring to go, so bring it on!"

Cerebral Bore Gearing Up For Summer Slaughter Run

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore are gearing up for the Summer Slaughter tour, which kicks off tomorrow - Friday, July 20th - in Los Angeles.

The band will be tearing its way across the U.S. for more than a month with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Between the Buried and Me, Periphery, Job For A Cowboy, Goatwhore, and more, after winning the final slot on the tour through a competition by gaining the most fan votes.

Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:

"We are just hours away from the Summer Slaughter tour becoming a reality, and we are all set to hit the road. There are ten bands on the bill, and the shows start early, so be sure to get down in time to catch our set, and be sure to grab some merch and help us with the ridiculous costs on this trek. And also, don't forget to check out my blog on the Terrorizer website throughout the tour! Lastly I want to say thanks again for every single vote that eventually got us the sacred spot on this tour - we are almost there, and we appreciate the support more than anyone could ever fathom!"

Cerebral Bore will also be meeting fans tonight (Thursday, July 19th) at a signing session at Soundcheck in Hollywood at 7:00pm. See Cerebral Bore live on the Summer Slaughter tour at the following shows: More...

Cerebral Bore Announces Eastern European Tour

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore have confirmed dates for an Eastern European tour, which kicks off on September 5th in Szeged, Hungary.

The band has also confirmed three off-date shows during the Summer Slaughter tour, with Goatwhore and Exhume.

Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:

"Time to score another seven new countries off the list on this one, and great to do it with two bands who we are already close friends with. We will be starting this tour less than a week after Summer Slaughter, so we should be on top form as far as our playing is concerned, which is always a good thing when playing to new audiences. A stop at Bathory castle is also in order!"

Cerebral Bore To Headline Capitan Spaulding Fest

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore have been confirmed as the headliners for the Capitan Spaulding Fest in Colombia on June 17th.

The band will be heading to South America for two shows, having already been confirmed as the headliner for the Extreme Gorefest in Venezuela, before heading to the USA and Canada for the Summer Slaughter tour with Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore and more.

Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:

"When we announced that we were playing in Venezuela, we were overwhelmed by the number of promoters in other countries wanting to book us on the same trip, but due to our current album commitments we are already pushing it by going to South America at all. But, after some deliberation, we decided to add one more show, and Colombia worked best this time around. But we have plans to hit at least five or six South American countries next year, as well as a bunch in Central America, so they just have to hold out a little longer and we guarantee it'll be well worth their wait!"

Cerebral Bore Kicking Off Last Shows Of The Year

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore are due to kick off a mini U.K. tour tonight, Thursday, December 1st, at The Borough in Sunderland.

The four-date mini tour marks the last shows that Cerebral Bore will play this year, before returning in full force in 2012. Joining Cerebral Bore on the road are Scordatura and Laceration. Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:

"This is our last tour of 2011 and it's great to do it alongside a couple of up-and-coming Scottish bands. It's usually pretty hellish touring at this time of year in a shit van, sleeping on floors and dealing with the freezing wet weather. But we will bring the metal regardless, and hopefully the other bands will supply some good local banter and keep the spirits up."

Dates are as follows:

Dec. 01 - Sunderland, UK - The Borough
Dec. 02 - Birmingham, UK - Scruffy Murphy's
Dec. 03 - Derby, UK - The Old Bell
Dec. 04 - Cardiff, UK - Bogiez
