Ex-Megadeth Guitarist Challenges Dave Mustaine
Jeff Young, the former guitarist for Megadeth, has posted another blog which is highly critical of his former bandmate Dave Mustaine. His latest blog reads as follows:
"Hello again Mega fans,
"Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their overwhelming support regarding my Blog post of 10.18.09. I didn't expect that and it means a lot.
"I honestly didn't think I would be writing again so soon but in the wake of all the online chatter flailing about, some new info has come to light and there is absolutely no way I'm not responding to this... More...
Former Megadeth Guitarist Slams Dave Mustaine
Jeff Young, the former guitar player for Megadeth during the band's "So Far... So Good... So What?" era, has posted a message online in which he revealed his feelings towards Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine and his use of the media. The message reads as follows:
"Hey Mega fans, won't spend much time on this.
"However, one of my guitar students brought in a recent issue of Guitar World magazine containing some simply insane dialog from the man, the myth, the legend (in his own mind), Mustaine.
"Over the years, this tragic cat has made a hobby of dissing, exaggerating and just plain lying on some level about nearly every talented musician that has passed through his dysfunctional little ensemble. Literally, spitting in the face of the very folks that covered for his drugged out, sloppy-ass wanking and helped make him successful. More...

First Bands Confirmed For Swiss Sonisphere
The organisers of the Sonisphere festival in Switzerland have announced the first batch of bands that will perform at the event. The biggest news is that the festival will feature the "Big Four" of thrash metal, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer, along with two other huge names in heavy metal, Motorhead and Heaven & Hell. The event will take place on June 18th at Degenaupark in Wil/Jonschwil.
Breaking News
The "Big Four" Rumors are True
After much speculation, Sonisphere Festival has confirmed the Big Four (Anthrax, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth) will finally play live again! The Big Four that popularized the thrash metal movement in the 80's have never been on the same stage at once, but now the bands will have the chance to finally do so in 2010.
Originally, just a huge rumor, it has finally been confirmed. After Dave Mustaine angered Metallica and Anthrax, hopes for a Big Four concert were not looking promising. However, Sonisphere Festival has just announced that on June 16th 2010, these thrash metal giants will be sharing the stage for the first time at the Bemowo Airport in Poland. It has also been updated that the Big Four bands will also make a second appearance in the Czech Republic, with more Sonisphere shows featuring the combo to be announced in the coming days and weeks.
"Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time...what a mindfuck! Bring it on!" says Lars Ulrich, the Drummer of Metallica. "It's about fucking time this happened. And it's about time the fans finally what they want. This is fucking awesome," says Kerry King of Slayer.
ANTHRAX guitarist SCOTT IAN agrees, commenting on the enormity of the announcement:
"People have been talking about these four bands playing together since 1984. That's twenty-six years of expectation!!! And the thing is, I believe not only will we live up to the expectations, we will shatter them!! No other four bands as influential as the four of us have ever done this. Imagine if The Beatles, Stones, The Who and Zeppelin had done shows? Or Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead? Well, I may be getting into some rarified air here but as a fan, that's how big I feel this is."
The Big Four's appearance is only exclusive to Europe it seems for now. Stay tune for hopes of an appearance in America.
Suicide Silence Kicked Off Megadeth Tour?
Metal Injection reports that there might be some drama between MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine and SUICIDE SILENCE, who were opening for MegaDave on his recent tour. It all started when SUICIDE SILENCE issued a statement saying they won't be playing the last show of the tour, which read:
"We're sorry to announce that we won't be playing tonight in Reno, NV. Megadeth, Warbringer, and Arcanium will still be there so head out and show your support for those awesome bands!"
Then Lambgoat received a news bit, which they published uncredited:
"Suicide Silence not allowed to play Reno due to Dave Mustaine's ego. Kicked off last two days of tour and had laminates removed."
This bit was confirmed by a tweet Suicide Silence drummer Alex Lopez posted, which has since been deleted:
"Dave Mustaine kicked us off the Megadeth tour cuz he wanted to take our laminates for a little incident weeks ago, so we told him to fuck off."
And that was followed by a tweet by bassist Dan Kenny stating:
"I would love a fist fight with Dave Mustaine… I hear he is quite good at MMA; I would triangle him in a second!"
We'll have more on this story when and if more solid details come to light.

Megadeth Frontman Slams Roadrunner Records
In a recent message to the band's fans, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has spoken in a highly critical manner of Roadrunner Records, the label of which Megadeth is currently signed to. The full message reads as follows:
"I hope that everyone that is in a band and has been watching how things have transpired are taking notes. This record has been out for weeks and weeks, and no radio play from the radio person at Roadrunner, nothing. Zero.
"But that should be expected; this is the same guy I HAD TO ASK to get me interviews. Talk about a Gomer moment!
"Now, I am going to be forced to rely on my own radio station to play Megadeth, but that's ok, I seem to be doing the label's job everyday, in every city, and I am used to it after these last two records. More...
Slayer Adds Extra "American Carnage" Tour Date
Apparently, twenty-five cities just wasn't enough for Megadeth and Slayer on their upcoming "American Carnage" North American tour which kicks off on January 18 in Seattle. The co-headliners announced today that one more date has been added to the itinerary - the bands will play Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York on February 12.
Yesterday, Slayer and Megadeth announced that they will tour the U.S. together for the first time in nearly two decades, with Testament as special guest. The now 26-date trek will include the six "Canadian Carnage" dates that had been postponed earlier this month due to Slayer vocalist/bassist Tom Araya's back problem. According to Slayer's manager, Rick Sales, "Tom continues to recover and is improving more and more every day, so I think by the time January 18 rolls around, he'll be ready for some carnage."

Slayer, Megadeth To Co-Headline "American Carnage"
Megadeth and Slayer will join forces to co-headline "American Carnage" across North America this winter. "American Carnage" will kick off on January 18 in Seattle, WA for a 26-date trek across North America that will include the six Canadian dates postponed earlier this month. Tickets for most shows go on sale this Friday, November 20. Ticketmaster is offering a special presage for most shows from Wednesday, November 18 at 10AM until Thursday, November 19 at 10PM.
"American Carnage" is the first time that Slayer and Megadeth will have toured the U.S. together since 1991's epic "Clash of the Titans" tour. To celebrate that, and in recognition of the tough economic times that many of their fans are having, Megadeth and Slayer have decided to roll back the price of a chunk of tickets at every U.S. show to the "1991 price" of $10.00. These specially-priced tickets will be limited and when they're gone, they're gone. Megadeth has also teamed with iloveallaccess.com to provide an Ultimate Fan Package including premium seats, meet and greets, pre-show parties and more.
In addition, Testament, who was also on the '91 "Clash of the Titans" bill, will be special guests on the entire tour, marking the first time that all three bands have shared a stage together in more than 18 years, and making this a "must see" metal event.
Both Megadeth and Slayer will hit the road supporting new albums: Megadeth's 2009 album, "Endgame," and Slayer's "World Painted Blood," the band's 10th studio venture, which hit stores November 3. Testament's "The Formation of Damnation: Special Tour Edition," will be released on February 23, 2010 with special unreleased bonus tracks.
Slayer and Megadeth have already massacred territories together outside of the U.S., first with four explosive dates in June 2009 across Western Canada - "Canadian Carnage" - marking the first time the bands had shared a stage anywhere in 18 years; and then six co-headlining "Carnage" dates in Australia followed in October.
Slayer and Megadeth are also rescheduling the east coast leg of the "Canadian Carnage" tour, postponed from this fall.

Slayer Reschedules Canadian Carnage Tour
The Canadian Carnage tour, which is to feature co-headlining slots from thrash metal legends Slayer and Megadeth, has been rescheduled for February of next year. The tour was previously planned to kick off earlier this month but was postponed due to Slayer frontman Tom Araya suffering a back injury. In addition to the rescheduled dates, Bay Area thrash metal titans Testament have also been added to the bill.

Megadeth Drummer Checks In
Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover has checked in with an update regarding the bands upcoming tour of the United States and other topics. The message reads as follows:
"Needless to say here that I am looking forward to this American tour leg, especially around this time of year, as I am hoping to see some snow (though I am not certain 'where' or 'If' I will see any) Ya, I know some of you are shaking your little Metal heads in non-approval, but hey, living here in Atlanta (and being a frost-bitten Canadian boy) I have to say I do miss seeing the snow during the winter months, so hopefully I will see a decent amount. I was just talking to Willie Gee about during our 2004 North American tour we did with our friends in EXODUS around this time of year, we were stranded en route to Denver for about 12 hours at a truck stop due to a massive blizzard in the Denver area. The first blizzard blast I had seen in a long while at that point - As well, I always enjoy sharing a stage with my friends in Machine Head, so it will be good seeing them once again on this tour leg. Of course, all of us were saddened to hear that Tom Araya (SLAYER) had to undergo back surgery, and thus, we had to put the Canadian Carnage shows on hold for a bit. We all wish Tom a super speedy recovery and the best of health. Look for new info pertaining to these Canadian Carnage shows in the not too distant future
"I have been submitting a lot of music for our Megadeth Radio station, and although really we have just begun with this station, it really has been fun for me. There is so much cool music that is never played on normal rock radio (which is the main reason I really don't listen to it anymore) having control over our own radio station does put a smile on my face. I put it on yesterday morning and heard 'Zero Tolerance' by DEATH (which is one of my all-time favourite metal bands - hands down) and I did think to myself 'this does NOT suck!!' Actually, I need to talk to Dave (Mustaine) about putting more Death tunes on our station (and maybe some SUFFOCATION, too - heh). Other than this, I am enjoying time at home with my family before we hit the Killing Road."
Megadeth Frontman Speaks On Tour Postponement
As previously reported, the Canadian Carnage tour which featured Megadeth, Slayer, Machine Head and Suicide Silence has been postponed as Slayer frontman Tom Araya has had to go emergency back surgery. A message from Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine reads as follows:
"Today is Tuesday, November 3rd and unfortunately I have the bad news to tell you that our Canadian Carnage tour is being postponed due to Tom Araya (Slayer) needing to get some emergency back surgery. So just wanted to let you know we are not cancelling, we are just postponing. Canadian Carnage is going to be rescheduled and you can probably count on that being somewhere around the new year."
Dave Mustaine Comments On New Radio Show
As was previously reported, Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine now has his own online radio channel. Mustaine issued the following statement regarding fan comments of the show:
"Droogies!
"Thank you all for your feedback. I am talking to the station guys for my show today and next week we'll be making some slight adjustments. I have read the entire thread and am closing it so that I can read next weeks thread and be able to keep up with you crazy Droogies! Start a new one, and keep the suggestions coming, and you can always call me too. I am so happy that I am with you all day and all night long now. You know how much I love you all (even the assholes).
"Some of the answers to your posts are:
"I will check out what songs were added, and in many bands cases, we got it right. Sometimes there are going to be stinkers, and I will make adjustments as I go. Remember though, we are playing zingers too, and that means that just because a song is here, I don't necessarily like it - it just had something to do with my life. EXAMPLE: ‘I was made for loving you’ - KISS is played because that was the last song I heard by KISS as a fan. After that one I quit them, which helped me understand the fan backlash from Bud Prager's failed attempt to break us with ‘Crush 'em’. More...

Warbringer Announces Megadeth Shows
WARBRINGER has been chosen by Megadeth to open for them for some select major North American shows this fall.
John Kevill (vocals) states: “After the Monsters of Death tour (with Vader, Decrepit Birth, The Amenta, Augury and Swashbuckle) we get to go off and do some shows with fucking Megadeth! For us as a band this is pretty huge, it will be excellent to share the stage with such a legendary band. Also we are playing around the mid-north of the country in some places we've never been. Then after that we are going to Hawaii for some shows, so the rest of the year is looking completely badass. The band’s live performance is better and more lethal than ever before, so we look forward to seeing you all soon.”

Megadeth Comments On "Big Four" Tour
Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has issued the following statement about the possibility of an upcoming "big four" tour with Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax:
"Droogies!
"There has been a lot of talk about the possibility of a Big Four Tour and while I find the timing peculiar, the opportunity is a once in a lifetime opportunity, because we all are really so very different now, and the chances of this happening are probably not going to come around again in the future; due to personal plans, new ventures, and the inevitable passing of torches to the next generation in each of our respective genres (or the sub-genres that were created).
"While there is nothing to say at this point, if it happens, when it happens we, as well as my other three fellow horsemen, will let you know. When we played Loud Park, our dressing room become the den of iniquity for all the marquis talent for the night. Although some of the other bands tried to come in, (Blessed By A Broken Heart - who's blonde band member came close to getting his ass handed to him for racist comments to and about my tech, Willie Gee - I am glad I didn't hear or I would have another story about bodily harm).
"Our crew and the Japanese crew were keeping it just to our friends and the top acts. In fact, at one time we had me and Kerry King talking, Dave Lombardo holding court with several people, Akira Takahashi was hanging with Shawn, Glen Tipton from JP, the guys from Anvil, and lots of journos, photogs, and record company people all in my dressing room.
"Funny, it seems like Blabbermouth and Roadrunner USA are the only people who don't like me or Megs anymore. Such a shame. More...
